Is bluetooth headset support even on their radar? I really, really hate the pack-in mic and have a surround sound system, so these headphone mics don't work for me.

There's already an option to output to headphones - you can set it to chat only - so your surround system is doing it's thing.

So you still won't be able to hide/delete games with 1% or 2% etc. trophy completion? :(

Even then.. sounds like a good update. Needs some more stability though.

Plex requires a computer to serve the media right?

If Plex could access the hard drive(s) I have connected directly to the router and serve from there it'd be great for me. Otherwise it's not worth the cost to have a computer running all day.

Same here. I got a raspberry pi running taking care of that. Shame I only got 2 HDMI ports so gotta switch around with the ps3 all the time...

Resume/Suspend YEA
Delete 0% trophies? YEA

To be fair, if they did something like a deleting limit of 1 or 2 a month for games up until 10%, wouldn't that work? Or delete stuff over a certain age? I got one lousy Wipeout HD trophy when I didn't even know what trophies were, is that gonna follow my profile till Kingdom Come?

So I saw this post and decided to try to connect a pair of bluetooth headphones of mine, and it says the "profile is not supported" and wouldn't let me connect them. I guess it is proprietary?

Oh shit...

It worked, I think, but in the worst possible way.

What do I do!? I don't want to lose all of my data!

Edit: Tried it in safe mode and it said a serious error has occurred. The safe mode looks really out of wack though to be honest, like it's in 480p or something. It's not the usual blue screen safe mode.

Welp, I initialized. Fuck it. If it isn't in my cloud save data I don't need it anyway. If this doesn't work then I guess I had nothing to worry about in this regard to begin with.

Plex is free to use. It's just the Plex app that costs. Look at my post above on how to do it in the PS4 web browser.

So I spent a few minutes trying Plex out tonight....and it pretty much is still how I remember it.

When browsing your library "By Folder", you are not in fact getting access to your files as they are on your harddrive but rather what they are as interpreted by the DB scanner. This, at least on my setup, produces plenty of garbage.

Currently, Plex has identified several different shows in separate folders as "Winter with Rebecca Gibney", something I have never heard of before. Attempting to play anything in any of those folders results in a random selection of any of the files mistakenly tagged as this show. Also, shows or episodes that are not tagged do not, in fact show up.

I'm sure I could go in and piece by piece fix the library so that it is parsed correctly, but I don't have the time. A simple DLNA interface would be fine enough, but Plex still doesn't have one.

My comment was an attempt to solve GQmans' issue with using plugged in headphone-mic. Not a method for using Bluetooth mics. Sony seem to have gone cold on BT peripherals.

I see. Well, it's still too bad. I habe a pair of headphones that last 12+ hours and are comfy that I would love to use for Netflix stuff, but can't.

You can fix incorrect matches yourself, or is that too much?

This can be fixed, I had the same annoyance too where it only showed media it tried to match from its "official" database. I forget where the option is but you can set it so that it shows all your files without trying to find official matches to media.

When you added your library, did you pick "Home Videos"? That's probably what you want, since it won't try to tag them from a website.

Edit: Just tried this (from the PS4 browser no less), added a folder from my PC as a Home Videos library. It added the files in it with the filenames as titles, and it even shows up in the dedicated app.

"Like a whirlpool, shall the spirit of fire turn!...In the wake of my demise, may you still continue!"

Unlikely, that covers BT post 2.0 in general, and the PS4 is already using 2.1 iirc.

Yeah, thing is, the patent troll was able to hit Samsung despite Samsung using EDR.

Ars Technica said:
Meanwhile, Rembrandt's lawyers have made clear they believe the Bremer patents apply to all products using Bluetooth 2.0 and later—a huge swath of products. This win against Samsung may ultimately be one small piece of Rembrandt's plan to collect from Bluetooth.

...

"I told you in opening statement, the invention in this case is at the heart of EDR and EDR would not work without multiple modulation systems," Rembrandt lawyer Anaipakos said. "[The defense expert] said the payload modulation scheme is ‘indicated. That’s our infringement case — straight from the horse’s mouth."

It would help if you could read the article that I had linked.

here is a tweet from Sony Enteratainment Network about an annoucement for Playstation Music (of which Spotify will be apart of) coming later this month

From brief observations resume time can vary depending on various things like disc vs digital and if media app is running in background along side game (GTA5 disc with Netflix was loaded in that previous video)

Here is digital Saints Row 4 with no Apps in background

This is only if you go direct to rest mode for within a game, right? If you were on the dashboard when you did it, you return to the dashboard? I actually don't think I'd like going straight back into the game - what if the PS4 resumes quicker than my TV turns on? I could be dead by the time I see anything. I'd prefer it to resume to the dash and then I can press X to continue instantly.

Or at least resume paused

Just pause your game and then go into rest mode? Heck, exit to the main menu and then go into rest mode.

That's reasonably quick.

How come they moved the store down there from the upper row?

You shall go to the store and you shall buy something. Don't really get it either, previous arrangement was perfect imho.

I also wonder about BT support. I have a 200€ Sony mdr-1rbt and cannot use it.

As long as a press on the PS button from anywhere in the OS still takes you to the currently running game tile, then I don't care that there's now 2 icons to the left of that instead of only 1.

Seems like a better place for it. Plus think of all the time save by skipping the additional 'up' press :p.

And while we're at it, let me disable that "friends you might know" shit too. Its been the same unknown son of a bitch staring at me from the top of my friends list for what feels like decades now.

Or is that an option hidden somewhere I might have missed?

I'm happy for suspend/resume and 60fps shareplay though.

This...I think I have the guy with the sunglasses from the Matrix staring at me everytime lol...so annoying and also the group messaging from others that arent on your friend list but on your friend friend's list or something lol...

It kind of makes sense. Rather than having sales and promotions under the "What's New" tab, the store can have its own "what's new" section. That way the existing one stays for streams and social content.

That's actually not a bad idea

Store's better in that position. I go there at least once a month, because I have PS+, never check the "what's new" tab yet that's in a way more convenient position.
