Im so hype right now about this.

Wish there were other ways to pledge to kickstarter other than credit card, because i totally want to back this as soon as it goes up.

Paypal has been used for many Kickstarters as an alternative.

I've recorded the entire Rezzed presentation on the game, but since it'll be going on later, I doubt there's much of a reason to upload it.

I hope they're brave enough to skip the consoles where it won't be a big hit, For instance, I really don't see it getting that "THEY'RE BACK!" reception on PlayStation.. Go Wii U exclusive and push the system to its limits, like Rare used to with N64. That's part of the old Rare magic for me, and a spiritual continuation of that collaboration where the Nintendo version isn't the version, just feels wrong. Xbox and PlayStation gamers are too likely to ignore it in favour of Destiny 2 or whatever else is hot then. If this is as good as they obviously want it to be, then it deseves full attention, and that will only happen as a Nintendo exclusive game. They're welcome to prove me wrong, but I feel the potiential lack of appeal on PS4/XBO might hurt the overall reception and maybe even change how Playtonic continue with future projects.

Do you know anyone excited about this, that isn't also a Nintendo fan?

Added new info to the OP. Don't know where i can view the stream though.
From the "what to expect" slide, there's a Link look alike silhouette. I wonder if they plan on making a Zelda-like game like Dinosaur Planet.
I like that they are using Unity. Porting should be easy, especially to Wii U which is where i want to play this the most.
They teased amiibo support, but i imagine that's probably more of a joke. Would be cool though. Imagine scanning in the Duck Hunt amiibo and being able to play as the Duck Hunt duo, that would be neat.

Rare fans are everywhere and keeping it wii u only would be unwise.

I'm a Nintendo fan but I would much rather play this on PC or PS4 if it offered better graphics/IQ.

Outside of the Wii that I bought and sold within a month I haven't touched a Nintendo console in over a decade and I've been following this game since 2012, I'm there day 1 on PC.

I think it should be on at least Wii U and PC. But if they can get it to run on Vita, put it on that and the other 2 consoles.
They need to build up a fanbase everywhere if they want to be successful.
If Nintendo was funding the project and it was built from the ground up for the Wii U that could lead to a better game but since it's coming to PC there's no reason to keep it off other capable platforms unless they put the logo in promotional art and it doesn't look nice

What an awful idea. The n64 was 20 years ago. There isn't any less evidence that n64 gamers (if they are even still gaming) didn't migrate as much towards PC, ps and Xbox over the last 20 years as they would towards wii u. Nostalgia can be such a stupid thing sometimes.

It's also silly to see this small, upstart promising company and the wish them to be exclusive to the worst selling of all the major platforms, based solely off some misguided nostalgia. Do you want them to go under or do you want them to have the best chance of success?

I honestly don't understand this mindset at all. I'm reading the same thing on their forums now too - that Wii U would just feel right. What does that even mean? Who cares what platform you're playing on just so long as you're playing it. Does the game become more fun because you see Nintendo logos before booting the game?

It should be on as many platforms as possible for the most exposure.

Never under estimate fans who champion a single platform holder.

The more people and more fans of the old Rare games that get to enjoy and buy the new game the better.

While I am a Nintendo fan as well, I think of myself as a Rare fan first and foremost when it comes to Playtonic.
I've played Rare games on non-Nintendo platforms for so long that I don't feel like I have to play Playtonic's game on a Nintendo platform.

I'd like to see it become available for all of the four major platforms tbh. Doesn't make sense to make it an exclusive unless they make a deal with one of the platform holders.

I like nintendo games although I don't like nintendo as a company or as a console manufacturer (not that I -hate- them). So, yes. I'm -really- glad they're releasing their games on Steam!

I'd be funny if Sony bought them, if only for them to have a full big 3 Bingo.

Game companies can't just...buy a company that hasn't even put out a game or had any sales yet.

Imagine if you were head of a game company and you hear some garage band team was going to make a new Crash bandicoot spiritual successor for a new generation, would you just buy them on the fly without knowing if they'll be a success?

Weren't Portal & Left 4 Dead kinda made that way?

This must be the reason why Sony hired George Andreas. They knew that Playtonic was coming sooner or later! :p

I don't think that Playtonic will be aquired anytime soon. It seems like they want to keep it small (for now).

Need this now. This will be my first kickstarter i will back. I hope they make some kind of deal with nintendo. It would speed up the development time for this game.

Imagine if Nintendo bought BRB. That would be pretty hilarious

Yeah, i wonder why they put all thos games in their presentation slide, i mean, they havent made a game as a team! obviously this mean their experience in the industry is null!

Your analogy is flawed and i just said that as joke, i don't actually want them to be bought any time soon.

I think his point was that it makes no sense to buy a company based on simply an idea when they havent shown or released anything. If Sony or nintendo went around buying every indie developer that showed some early promise or had a good idea they'd go broke. Let these guys breathe, get their game to a playable stage first before we start a bidding war.
