Halo 5 Guardians: #huntthetruth

Does anyone remember this unsourced rumour ages and ages ago?

Game:
Campaign is planned to be 3-5 times longer than Halo 4. No more linear , going open world.
Master Chief has gone rogue, has own ship and can visit different planets (6-8 planned). Each planet has several regions with main objectives and several side missions. ( Think of Wings of Liberty or Dawn of War 2 cmapaign)
Core gameplay is still Halo (2 weapons, grenades, melee; "30 seconds of fun"; sevaral different enemies) but there are RPG elements added to it: character progression (mostly items like forerunner relicts you will find that make Master Chief stronger or will give him more ablities), not really loot, but you will have to acquire weapons first, before you can use them in more missions. Weapons are stored in the armory on the ship and chief can choose his loadout, which he will use on the mission start. He can still pickup and use the weapons he finds in the different missions.Loadout weapons are basically the same you have in Halo 4 Multiplayer (you cant start with a rocket launcher, but you can call in those "super weapons" on a mission like in Infinity Multiplayer; difference is this is a limited ability, at "low level" you can call one time, this can be upgraded over time)
There will be more weapons in campaign than in Halo 4(and yes more "alien" weapons; not just human weapons with a different coat)

The Guardians thing, I'm guessing they'll team up, start their own justice league or something while this UNSC/ONI/Rebels/Halsey storyline is going on. Yeah, I'm very curious to see how they tie in all the threads they have running now.

How is the civil war between the Arbiter and the Storm faction going?
What is Halsey's plan for the re-unification of the Janus key?
What will happen when the Janus key is re-unified?
Will the Proto-Precursor/Flood return from the edge of the galaxy?
Is IsoDact and the Librarian still alive?
Are there other Forerunners being hidden by the Janus?
Will UrDact return with actual Prometheans this time?
Will UrDact and IsoDact clash in earnest?
What evil will Osman unleash to destroy Halsey?
Is the #TRAITOR here actually meant for Halsey?

WHEN WILL WE SEE MASTER CHIEF, LOCKE, AND ARBITER TEAM UP WITH STEVE VAI AS BACKGROUND MUSIC?

It will be BIGGER. As in actual size, not campaign scope/length/missions.

Notice size difference between Chief and big forerunner thingy.

In Titanfall, when transitioning from Pilot to Titan, level design "scales up" to compensate to larger perspective. What was a building from the perspective of a Pilot is now more or less a chest high wall or cover crate when using a Titan. Same "object", 2 scales.

I think we will see this to an even greater extent in Halo 5.

I agree!
I really liked Halo 4's campaign, thought y'all really nailed the story, but I wish it was bigger and longer...Halo 2 was bigger and longer because you got to play two different characters, and I'm hoping that that willbethe case with Halo 5 :)

I thought the forerunner robot things were way too generic to fight. I had to force myself to finish throughout two weeks before cortana end got spoiled.

Insiders and leaks have rumored that Locke is essentially the main lead in the game. It's still Chief 'story', but Locke has the majority of the game time.

If those leaks are real then I will be happy. But if they are...if they can't keep a game's features from being leaked a year out from launch then what the fuck is going on?

Hope they do a good job with his character in the game then.

Arbiter still #1 because he has an actual character arc that starts and ends in the game. Hopefully Locke has an opportunity to be a great character, too, since Halo doesn't exactly have good characters within the games.

Locke. John Locke was a philosopher. Search for truth. Locke is going to find Master Chief and philosophize with him about God and stuff.

I really loved the beta, and the story, from the little bits we know of it sounds fascinating, I almost keep forgetting that this game is coming out this year but hopefully were shown something this weekend that will get it back on my hype radar.

Hey Frankie, question for you! Will Halo 5: Guardians work properly on launch day? or will we have to wait 4 months post release before you guys actually fix it. In all seriousness although I do appreciate all the updates, patches and ongoing support I still feel pretty burned by MCC and how 343i handled the situation. Most of my friends weren't as patient as I was and traded the game in a few weeks after launch. I don't want to have to wait 3+ months just to play MP with a party of friends again...

I can't recall having any problems with the beta.

It wouldn't be a Halo launch without leaks. Nothing beats the Halo 4 barn leak though.

Hey Frankie, I'll get this one for you. Of course it won't, 343 are deliberately going to ship a broken mess of a game. /s

They won't fuck up like that again. The whole franchise is on the line with this one. Have faith.

Is Master Chief did bad things before Halo 5? What's happening?

Wait do we actually know for sure that the game will have multiple endings? And it's good to see that they're (most likely) avoiding CoD and Battlefront.

Lines up with that "leaked" GameStop release date for September, if I remember correctly.

Just makes more sense to me, but keeping expectations low.
