I could only find the Homu theme on the JPN shop right now. Hopefully they upload the others soon.

Please stop tempting me.

Stop posting about Shallie.

Let's talk about Atelier Iris instead.

edit: to hell with work, gonna get Shallie

I got a notice that there could be a shipping delay because of the shit weather. I hope it's not delayed (or at least not too much), but the weather has been absolute shit lately so I know this is not a made-up BS thing. *brrrrrrrr*

Does anyone here know if there's any hints of the next (post-Shallie) Atelier game? Are we just getting the Rorona 3DS remake and I guess E&L+ this year?

I don't have high expectations for their first PS4 title. They could just increase the resolution to native HD and keep the framerate locked to 30 fps and I'll be happy.

Considering their first PS3 title was Rorona, me either. Honestly, I basically expect it to look roughly the same graphically as the Dusk titles.

I kind of expected them to do a PS4 trilogy next, was just wondering if anything had been hinted at. :)

I'm pretty sure they've been revealing the Atelier games each year at a Dengeki Festival in march for a while now. Just give it a week or two and you should see the next Atelier game. Personally, I hope they go with the PS4 as well, but that might not be the best move.

I kinda want a 4th Dusk game on a system I actually own (so, PS3), but I have doubts it'll happen after Shallie apparently didn't sell too hot in Japan, and I think the English adverts had it as the final chapter in the Dusk series, so *shrug*.

If they do end up announcing for PS4, I'll probably end up not picking it up because by the time I actually get the system it'll be like 2 games later.

With the current sales trajectory in Japan Gust will probably go conservative. Maybe an Iris or another fan-favourite remake on PS3.

I'm not sure I'll be picking up PS4 any time soon, I would prefer Gust to stay with PS3 for a while, how they did with PS2.

Maybe they'll just make Atelier Orochi, an atelier styled game but with the Warriors Orochi characters. If they want to go conservative, that's the way to go about it.

Of course I'm kidding, it's not going to happen. It would have been Gust's biggest hit for sure though.

As ridiculous as that sounds, I think it would actually be crazy fun. I'm expecting them to just do HD re-releases of some of their older, popular games since that is relatively safe. HD Mana Khemia would be nice, but I'm fully expecting Iris.

They should do a TK, but a different kind. Here is the million seller idea: "Atelier Peach ~Alchemist of the Mushroom Kingdom~ " You're welcome Gust/TK/Japan.

Aww, I completely forgot about preordering the LE for Atelier Shallie. I'm really sore about missing out on the artbook. :(

they said they won't be doing any HD remasters or anything like that because it's too expensive

Hahahaha, considering the way Atelier games are made and the end results, I actually wouldn't be surprised to find out if the projections for a HD remaster were in the same ballpark as a new entry.

Got a question for AtelierGAF.

After picking up the various Vita Atelier games through PSN sales, etc., I'm wanting to start playing the games in the series.

Would it be better to play Totori -> Meruru -> New Rorona or do the chronological route narratively and play New Rorona first?

I heard that some people though Totori seemed "older" by playing New Rorona first (i.e. people who never played the original PS3 version). But if there's narrative stuff that makes things easier to understand playing the chronological route I'm alright with the "second" game being a little more dated, as I'm playing Ar tonelico 1/2 after playing Ar nosurge and they're defiantly more "dated" feeling than a current-gen game.

The 'drop' from New Rorona to Totori isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. It's largely the same system, just a little less complex. (Traits don't combine)

There's some quality-of-life features you may miss, but that's about it. Totori is more about the exploration/adventuring aspect than the other two entries, regardless.

yes, Totori is the oldest gameplay wise and it's very apparent, the structure of Totori is super loose and unfocused compared to New Rorona and Meruru so i'd recommend starting with Totori

So the Dengeki Festival has passed now and there was no announcement of a new Atelier game. Could this mean that we won't be getting another entry this year? It'll be pretty interesting to see what happens if they're actually not releasing a new Atelier game this year.
