Why does there have to be crap coming from Kojima? This could easily be Konami just not wanting to be in the AAA console space anymore.
Konami : Hmm, we have this guy who keeps our entire business relevant and alive, but he want's his name on all his work, and his own team. How can we claim the brand he no longer want's to make? We must remove the names and the studio. All will be Konami.
Kojima : No, this is my life work. I said no more three games ago.
Konami : You will accept this and go make Konami's Silent Hill. Then you will continue to make more Konami Metal Gear games.
Kojima : No.
Konami : You fired.
Maybe?
I'm sure Sony will roll out the red carpet for this man.
Probably the best thing that could have happened to him. He'll get a new team and do what he does best, end off.
Damn, I wonder what the full story is
Him and Clarkson should team up and make Top Metal Gear
Hideo Kojima, exclusively on....We pretty much knew this considering all the removal of name etc but would love to know.the reason.
I think he would be great at square, or better with his own studio.
I'm predicting an E3 announcement about where he ends up.
If anything, this seems like it would would push him to be more independent.
Microsoft or Sony would be just like another Konami

Microsoft or Sony would be just like another Konami, both would roll out the red carpet, but they'd still want a ROI in a timely matter,
I wouldn't cancel a preorder for Kojima's last Konami game, but I would definitely never preorder another Konami game. Fuck annualization.
Will we know the truth any time soon? And I mean 2016 because Konami definitely won't want any bad press (more than what's already out there) during MGS V's year of release.
Yugioh and literally nothing else.
Hideo Kojima, exclusively on....
First Clarkson, now Kojima, what's happening with the celebrities lately. ;p
It would be pretty stupid to go through all these silent and scorched earth routines if they had a reason they thought the public would buy. Unless Kojima's done something they think will harm sales of the game even more than the public hating the company's guts will.I understand the love for the man and why people are automatically anti-corp / pro-Kojima, but now we're actually seeing the word "fired" part of me wonders what the hell happened - and whether there were legitimate reasons for firing him -- it'll be interesting once it all comes out
He has to go to a big company if he wants to continue working at the scale he's used to, there's no way he can fund something like that on his own.
Arcade cabinets, toys, Casino gaming/slot machines, YuGiOh cards and anime, and health and fitness clubs (in Japan).Like what?
So does Konami own all the MGS IP then? I'm guessing they do, which probably means no more MGS titles....involving Kojima
Sony seems like the best bet. I mean, they gave a big budget to Ready at dawn(right?) imagine what they would do for him.He has to go to a big company if he wants to continue working at the scale he's used to, there's no way he can fund something like that on his own.

Is this going to be another thread where people say Konami is doomed even though they make money from a ton of other shit?
It's really interesting though whatever went down between the two. Hopefully someone can dig up what it was, would make for a great read

That's under the assumption he still wants to make these large AAA budget games at this point in his life, and he wouldn't have to fund it on his own.

Lol come on.... Put down your tiny swords.Words that kill...
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Donna Burke is the iDroid voice and is more well known for singing Heaven's Divide and Words that Kill.
Yep, Konami are already hiring for the next Metal Gear.
