That's good and then removed in Judgement, hopefully it stays that way for the next Gears.

I never bothered getting it in any of the games. I like achievements but I won't force myself into something tedious for them.

A collection would be too much for them to handle. All one has to do is look at MCC.

Are they bad at ports?
Probably. I guess it depends on how extensive of a remaster it is. GoW of war still looks pretty good by today's standards and everyone and their brother has played it. I could see that affecting the game's legs, but I guess time will tell.
Their game Dirty Bomb is a ton of fun.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars was pretty great from what I remember, not sure what they've been up to recently though.
I doubt he knows or cares. If he's in a thread about MS, it'll be something negative.

Splash Damage's "Dirty Bomb" is an absolute blast and it functions.
It's clear they've learned a lot from their Brink and Arkham Origins Multiplayer days and I'm hopeful they'll do Gears justice.

I don't get your point. If 343 couldn't handle it, then Black Tusk sure as hell cant handle it. It's too big of a project and would once again be a clusterfuck of outsourcing to various teams.
Edit: Black Tusk isn't even doing the remaster, but the same goes for Splash Damage.

MCC being a fuck up doesn't mean another game developer can't release a collection of games.

Whatever this is, is a remaster, the game they have is already made by Epic nearly a decade ago so they're making some changes and getting it running on Xbox One. They have experience with Unreal Engine, they're a multiplayer focused studio and they worked on the March 2015 content update for Halo MCC it seems so they obviously have started working with MS quite a lot recently.
I dont see how anyone can be concerned here except for well... you know.
Its April, whatever the game is is being tested on people Xbox One's at home right now to make sure it works. We dont know what the full package is yet because its unannounced or when its intended for release. There isnt anything to be concerned about here unless you run out of other things to be concerned about.
Lets not forget Double Helix's reputation and then they made Killer Instinct, clearly Microsoft can pick their partners pretty well.
Halo's problem to me was trying to do too much and clearly not having enough time to do it. The technical side of it was quite a lot more complicated than Gears due to so many games, engines and being from different platforms, not to mention project management was probably an issue as well. If it had been planned as MCC with all 4 games from the beginning which im pretty sure it wasnt then it might have turned out better.
Microsoft were pretty clear when they bought Gears that they bought the rights to all 4 of the original games too, seeing MCC in development at that time likely would have given them plenty of ideas for Gears and what to do when they ramped up for that which they are obviously doing now. I dont think the situations are nearly so clear cut and the same, especially as its still unannounced and scope unknown.

I know its a pipe dream but what if they are testing it now so at E3 they can announced "Gears of War remastered is available on xbox live as of this moment". That would be crazy.
I was thinking this too it would make more sense as well so the Holiday season can be freed up for other titles.
I do hope it is a case of 1 being remastered but 2 and 3 just being given a resolution and FPS bump as I enjoyed them far more than 1.

Fair point I guess. That is kinda new territory for them as far as I'm aware, so it might not be fair to judge based on the shortcomings of their own developed efforts.
edit: Some of you need to dial down the defensiveness over an innocuous post being somehow critical of Microsoft when it had nothing to with Microsoft at all.

Sony did it last year and MS have done it in the past with Doom. Would be pretty sweet if they did this.
Although I suspect that's unlikely. If they are just privately testing now, seems we won't see it until November/December.
Yeah and they are also making Dirty Bomb and from everything I've read that is looking like a great game.

Still dont like the name tho. The game was named different first. Cant remember what it was. But it was imo better.

I would not expect them to just drop a game as big as Gears, we'd have had a more substantial leak than this if it was coming real soon

A bit presumptuous to say only its only Gears 1 when its unannounced... I'm not saying it will be more because I really don't know but conversely its not been stated that it is only Gears 1. They aren't going to upload the entire thing not to mention if you look at how Xbox One does game files lots of of them upload in separate parts (see SoD YOSE with separate add-ons for Breakdown/Lifeline, Borderlands and SR4 are both separate listings etc)

But anyways, in fear of this page turning into a discussion about him, looking forward to playing in the mansion again. Hopefully this time, if you chainsaw a couch with somebody in cover on it, it kills them too.
For Gears 3 maps, I could probably pass on Sandbar and Overpass. Maybe Mercy and Drydock too.
I mean they can throw em all in there and I'd be happy, but if I had to choose then those would be the ones i'd want gone.
I liked Fuel Depot and Mansion a lot in the first Gears as well but I agree that the maps in Gears 3 were better.
