Sony E3 2015 Press Conference Dated.

Man, I'm not getting on the hype. We know Sony has the ability to have a mega conference, but I'm not sure they are interesting in anything but maxing sales for the next fiscal year. If having a ton of traffic and "winning" E3 doesn't translate directly to more hardware sales, I don't see another 09 happening.

How so?

If anything, I feel like they have the most "polished" one.

Well, I haven't liked the scripted comedy routines that they've been doing going all the way back to when McHale was hosting. But from a game perspective, their lineup doesn't seem like it's going to be all that fresh. Their recent financial report said that they have Assassin's Creed, Just Dance, Rainbow Six, The Division and an unannounced AAA IP coming up. There could obviously be other stuff, but that's looking rather thin for an hour long conference.

Obviously way too soon for another Far Cry. Prince of Persia is dead. Ghost Recon is basically dead. Splinter Cell has a slim chance of showing up. Beyond Good and Evil 2 is about as likely as The Last Guardian. Can't remember what other IP's they own.

UBI's conference looks like it's going to be really rough this year.
Content wise, Ubisoft is usually pretty stellar. The problem is that their format has become predictable and stale. It's almost always identical to this:

- Demo new Assassin's Creed
- Demo other major holiday release or releases
- New trailer for upcoming game
- Announce or preview a smaller Ubiart game or two
- Announce this year's Just Dance
- Announce an expected sequel
- End with something cool and exciting

Soooo this year will be almost certainly look like:

- Assassin's Creed: Syndicate demo
- Rainbow Six demo
- The Division trailer
- Announce a new Ubiart game from the Child of Light team
- Announce Just Dance 2016
- Announce Watch Dogs 2
- Close with something like a new Splinter Cell or Prince of Persia

Alisha Tyler hosting the event is also growing old. She always tells pointless stories to try and convince us that she's a "real gamer" and inserts awkard, unfunny jokes every time she's on stage.

Since I never played Gravity Rush and see all the hype, honest answer: Is the game that fantastic of a game in regards to gameplay etc, or is it mostly the main character design that everyone loves and the game is rather "just" okay to good? The small parts I've seen of it didn't strike me as a goty, but I didn't see much of it at all.

I think that's a big part of it. Not only is their structure predictable, but their games are as well. Many people have pointed out how the structure of their open world games seem quite similar. They even found a way to put the Tower system into The Crew. And their recent comments about open world popularity makes it seem like that may be what their upcoming AAA game is as well. I'd like to see some stuff from them that isn't so predictable. Like more from their Art studio.

The combat is probably the weakest part of the game. It's by no means bad, but it's fairly simple although it can be quite a bit of fun when you're going against larger enemies. The exploration in the game is one of the best parts about it. That's made to be really enjoyable because of Kat's abilities within the world and the general world design is very solid. Then there's the story, characters and music that are all fantastic. It's really the package of the game that made people fall in love with it. There's really nothing quite like it. Which isn't surprising since it's from the mind of the same person that created Silent Hill and Siren.

I wish we had something similar to last year's bloodborne hype train that we could ride.

I wonder what pissed Sony off most last year, the Bloodborne leak or the Street Fighter V leak? Those were two genuinely massive announcements, and both were spoiled. Maybe that's why they're just in complete lockdown mode right now.

we are still a month away. Things could still get leaked.

The fact we haven't seen any trademark leaks yet adds to it.

If they really intend on holding on the surprises THIS time around tells me something......

Anyway I hope they keep it that way. XD

Man those leaks sucked. If it was me though, I would be way more upset about the Bloodborne leak which was deliberate on someones end. The Street Fighter leak seemed like a big accident.

God's had his chance.
New Horizon info from GG is what im really after this year. Show me the robot dinosaurs.

It hasn't set in yet but it's getting there... like the first 15 minutes after you take acid and you're not feeling that anxious tremble but you know it's just around the corner. Looking for orange juice and shit.

githype. GR for the ps4 and Agent and TLoU2 and Trico are all just beautiful dreams... and if any one of them comes true... goat.

Things I don't want to see in Sony's conference:

- Third party co-marketing (COD, Batman, Asscreed...) and shitty DLC exclusives. If they want to show that, make their own conference
- Morpheus things. The project really looks cool, but how could I see how it works or feels through a video streaming?? TIME WASTING or fake videos (like kinect or things like that).
- MM's you-make-our-game games. Please, NO!. Make games like Tearaway, where you already play something. I don't want to work at home too.
- Indie games. I really love some of these games, but I'm getting tired about 2D pixelated sidescrollers. There are a lot to choose already. Don't waste time showing us more PS+ free game candidates.

- MM's you-make-our-game games. (embarrassing moment)
- Indie games.
- U4 gameplay
- 2 first party teasers (new games)
- 2 first party trailers (already announced)

People: "Oh, TLG sure will be showed at TGS, because it comes from Japan Studio...", "2016 is going to be awesome"...

You literally just touched upon most of the potentials with the exception of assassin's creed. I'm sure they're tied to Xbox now. And I doubt media molecule is making another level crafter.

And like it or not, THEY HAVE TO show the Morpheus. Its new hardware, its coming out early 2016, and its better to inform potential consumers early about updates with the final version of the product, or at least close too.

If this conference will be anything like their 2009 conference, then they'll be fine (PS move had a presence)

Like I said before, Sony has lots of cards to play, its only matter is the amount they play or/and the impact of each card they summon.

If they play them tacticly, they're safe, if not, well, Microsoft will have the advantage to strike.

It actually seems like Creed is back with Sony. If you look at the placement of the boxes at the end of the reveal footage, the PS4 box is at the front. For Unity the XB1 box was at the front.

I want gravity rush 2 there or atleast the remaster, but when was the last time a japan studio game was at e3?

Puppeteer?
I dont remember if that was e3 or tgs.

You shut your mouth Aisha Tyler is the best.

Honestly, the scary thing about a Sony conferene is they have the potential to put on a show for the ages. They have games in the pipeline that would make mouths drop.

1. Uncharted 4
2. GT7
3. God of War 4
4. The Last Guardian

I doubt we'll ever see all four in one conference, if so- I can't imagine the headlines. This would be the fitting sequel to E3 '09. :)

Really?

We already know all those games are in development so no surprises there. The first three are almost a given for a reveal this year, if not at E3 then Paris or Tokyo. Only a TLG re-reveal would be the big news.

Sony is going to have a pretty good show even based on what we currently know about. Insomniac is at long last unveiling the Ratchet and Clank PS4 reboot. I'm sure Uncharted 4 will have one of the best trailers/demos of E3; cannot wait to see where Naughty Dog has taken the project since we last saw it.

However, Sony has the potential for some great new surprises this year too. I'm very excited to see if there is any truth to the Level 5 PS4 exclusive rumors; would be great to see them back on one of their old SCE IPs like Dark Cloud or Rogue Galaxy. GG's Horizon also has my interest if it lives up to the Robotic Dinosaur awesomeness of those leaked images; seems like a great concept. Who knows, maybe this is finally the year that The Last Guardian returns?
NOPE :p
Then you have first (and second) party studios with PS4 projects in the oven (Media Molecule, Sony Bend, Quantic Dream, Japan Studios) that could potentially show up at E3. Definitely a ton to be excited about this year :)

The Gravity Rush enthusiasts really came out of the woodwork for this thread. Where the hell have you guys been hiding all this time!

Can't wait for SFV news at E3

Yeah, while i'm mostly looking forward to the character and mechanic reveals, I also want to see what sort of visual upgrades they've made since the Nash trailer. Ono said this about the visuals when the game was unveiled

While the game already looks rather nice from what little we’ve seen so far, Ono says that the latest build still needs a lot of work, and that the graphics will keep getting better. He’d like fans to think of it as if development for the game has barely begun.

This is what it looked like during its unveiling

And this is what it looked like in the Nash reveal trailer

I am interested to see what Sony brings out at the conference. At first glance, it looks like Microsoft has a much broader exclusive lineup to show(No Man's Sky and Uncharted vs Scalebound, Tomb Raider, Halo 5, Gears, crackdown, Rare's IP) but I am hoping Sony surprises us.

Still hoping for Last Guardian on PS4.

Edit: oh yeah, how the hell did I forget the Ratchet and Clank reboot? Looking forward to that one for damn sure.

3rd party games will always be at first party press conferences. It's foolish to expect otherwise. That said, Microsoft seems to have Assassin's Creed, Batman: Arkham Knight will get a trailer at most, and Sony getting CoD as far as I know is still a rumor.
It'll be interesting to see how Sony shows off Morpheus. With the right theater set up it could show off great for people there but no so much for people streaming it.
Sony will always have one stupid part of their press conference that drags on for way too long. If that's Media Molecule's new game then it'll likely be better than most years.
I'm starting to feel the indie drag a little lately too but Sony should end up picking games that will stand out and not look 3-4 generations old.
