So I saw that a GTX 970 will be able to handle Witcher 3 at max setting, 1080p and 60fps. But you won't be able to run it like that if you have that hair thing on? I forgot the name of it. I mean it's a small compromise if I have to live without luscious hair.

Well, Nvidia says the 980 can and the 970 is a good overclocker, plus the whole 3.5GB VRAM thing won't be an issue for most as PC Games Hardware mentioned that VRAM usage tops out at ~2.5GB with the Ultra preset and a 1080p rendering resolution.

Kojima takes the stage only to awkwardly explain that he is no longer involved with TPP's development and has no knowledge of Konami's marketing plans, then exits.

He'll show up alongside Gaben, and announce that together they're making a spiritual successor to PT that will be Vive-exclusive.

And then Lynch appears and everyone wakes up from a dream.

Makes me pretty tempted to pick up a 970. I'm just afraid all of the games in however many months that require 4GB are going to stutter and perform badly.

I'm curious to see how long before my 8GB 980M starts not being enough to max out at 1080P. I'm cautiously optimistic for 1080P 60FPS with Hair/Gameworks for Witcher 3.

Sure as fuck beats my old 540M.

Yeah, that's why I went for the 980, although I am toying with the idea of selling it off in favour of a 980 Ti, for the extra VRAM headroom (I don't want to make the same mistake I did back in 2012, when I bought a 2GB 670). I still use a 1680x1050 monitor, but even at that res, AssCreed Unity uses 3.6ishGB when "maxed out" (AA aside) and VRAM usage is only going to go up as more and more developers leave the PS360 behind and Sony/Microsoft gradually reduce their ~3GB OS footprint.

If I'd opted for a 4GB 670 back in the day, I'd still be using two of them right now, but alas.

Humble Flash Goat MMO Simulator 67% off

Y'know, that makes it sound like it's just the MMO Simulator DLC.
It's really Goat Simulator that's on sale for 67% and they're just using the tile that highlights the free MMO DLC update.

Just for clarification purposes, cause it sounded weird to me.

Is only there were still an active store sub that contains the base app for GMS. Even the 38000-RUB "Master Collection" lacks it.

Edit: Err, Gamemaker Studio, that is.

I mean, if all you do is play 3DS ports and erotic visual novels.

This is why he loves Axiom Verge so much already -- graphics look like they're designed for the high quality lcd display panels of a New 3DS. ;)

I made a similar mistake when I picked the 2gb gtx 770.
Now I won't touch the 970 and I'm waiting to see what AMD spits out as a competition as well as how nVidia reacts -- right now, the 4gb ceiling on VRAM for the 980 rules it out as well and I'm not interested in SLI.
This leaves something like the Titan X, but I'm not dropping $1k on a card at this point... I have a bunch of amazon credit saved up and have been waiting to go nuts, but -- again -- AMD and nVidia are taking their sweet ass time with "what's next".

I still can't buy Higurashi. wth... I could buy Narnia just fine a day before but now I can't buy Higurashi? or anything? Is it some sick joke of Universe or something, retaliation that I haven't kept my word. It is cruel, Universe that is

Seriously, why the hell am I playing LYNE?
It's a terrible puzzle game (there's no rhyme or reason to the problems, meaning only way to solve them is by guesswork), it's a terrible zen game (how the hell am I supposed to zone out when I've been trying to solve that one blasted 'puzzle' for the last 5 minutes? Oh, and the puzzle before and the one after are a 2-3 second affairs), it's just a bunch of procedurally generated boards you doodle on...
0/10 Arthea points.

doodling is zen, what is more zen than doodling?! and as I said on several occasions LYNE isn't a puzzle game strictly speaking. Well, some levels are, but mostly it is not.
Seriously, if it annoys you that much, instead of relaxing, it's not your thing.

I got s 660, smaller number must mean it's even better.

Yeah, my upgrade plan more or less hinges on me selling my pair of 670s for ~$300 and my 980 for ~$600, so the sooner Nvidia announces pricing, the better. I have my 670s up for sale already, but I've had nothing but lowball offers despite the cards still selling for >$160 + shipping on eBay, so I may have to do away with the idea of selling them locally.

On a different note, I gave Kingdom of Amalur a try last night. For some reason, I'm enjoying it ALOT more than I when I first originally played it on PS3 and 7 months ago on PC. I'm tolerating the item degradation. I usually hate that in RPGs.

Maybe this is another "Red Dead Redemption" moment for me. Played a game, hated it. Come back later, loved it.

I liked Amalur, despite its simplicity.

I still need to play the DLC... but I don't know how fun that will be without my original save. I know the expansions are set in their own little slices of the world, but I'm fairly certain they're designed to be tackled after a certain level, which is discouraging when you have to start anew.

there really should be a word for someone who buys every single game on steam and wastes tons of hours on the worst ones

I don't own an Xbone, but thank you ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I usually just deal with 45ish fps than lowering the resolution.

I'll take the lower res if it means concrete 60fps. It's what I did with dying light. Though part of that was not wanting to compromise on the textures.

I played Dying Light in 1080p locked at 30fps, had everything cranked up and used a controller so it wasn't too bad. I might mess around with 900p stuff, I have a 900p monitor that doesn't get much use.

funny enough...I went back to check Dying Light yesterday to see how the performance was after patches and new AMD drivers and it was a lot better. Where I was getting 30's-40's FPS before it was 60 (with maybe a drop to 59).

In a post story completion of GTAV on PC world I'm really fucking struggling to get motivated let alone committed to any game at the moment. Fingers crossed The Witcher III grabs me or I might be better off with a nice long break.

Yeah, the six months between now and Brooklyn AssCreed Syndicate are looking rather dire. Superly-duperly looking forward to TW3, though.
