I'm perfectly ok with it. It gives attention to some things that might normally get swallowed up in the rush of E3.Why is there whining about stuff coming out before E3 exactly? I was under the impression we were all here for the information and announcements regardless of when they happen. Who gives a shit if something is shown today rather than a week from now so long as it's shown to us at all?
As for my most anticipated conferences:
1) Sony: They will either be the best or the worst out of the big 3. That really depends on whether or not they show The Last Guardian and other first party announcements. Really looking forward to the MGS5 trailer and Dark Souls 3 footage (there has to be gameplay there if it's releasing early 2016)
2) Nintendo: I'm disappointed that Retro is most likely working on Diddy Kong Racing but I'm really excited to see what else Nintendo has in store. If Paper Mario U is announced that would make the show for me. Star Fox is probably the most interesting thing that we know will be there, especially when Platinum might be developing it. I'm also looking forward to a XCX release date and Animal Crossing U announcement. And please Nintendo, you said last year you were working on two Metroid games, give us some info.
3) Microsoft: We know pretty much everything that will be there. The only question is what Rare is making aside from Battletoads. If it's a new Banjo that might catapult this conference to first for me. I'm interested to see Halo 5 campaign footage and I really want to see substantial gameplay for Scalebound and some sort of gameplay for Crackdown. And hopefully we see a little more than a CGI teaser for Gears 4.
4) EA: Now that Fallout 4 is announced, the new Mass Effect is the biggest third party announcement I am waiting for. I'm also excited to see Mirror's Edge gameplay and the announcement of the Battlefront Beta.
5) Square Enix: My interest in this show is divided between seeing gameplay and getting a release date for Deus Ex: MD and the possibility that this whole thing might become the next Konami 2010.
6) Ubisoft: The company is pretty much dead to me at the moment. I will not buy another one of their games until the design philosophy changes. Witcher 3 and MGS5 show that they do not know how to make open world games at all, despite priding themselves on that type of game. AC: Syndicate was the most underwhelming announcement I've seen in a long time. R6: Siege is coming out right in the same window as 3 (most likely) better shooters and even more better games. I have hardly any faith in The Division at this point. Pretty much the only thing they can do to appeal to me is a new pirate game considering no other developer has attempted to match, let alone surpass, Black Flag yet. Will probably watch just to see how bs the demos are but I won't hold my breath for anything mindblowing.
