"Gran Turismo Sports" for PS4 pops up on Croatian retailer

What if GT Sport is the new branding for a Prologue version? Something smaller, lighter then the big brother version. Maybe they get it out in time for PlayStations VR launch.

I just hope they dont hold the visuals back because they are targeting VR. GT5 and 6 already felt like they had 1 foot stuck in the PS2. I dont want that kind of inconsistency again.

Just because some retailer put up a page for it and wants your money doesn't mean it will be at E3.

Calm down GAF. GT7 and TLG are probably not coming at E3.

Someone on these forums posted that they're apparently using standard cars in GT7.

I hope he was joking. There's no excuse for that.

If 'Sports' is indicative to an array of motorsports I hope it includes Motorcycles. I would much rather have a Tourist Trophy 2 but will settle for an all inclusive game.

Well, I don't expect it to be at E3 and that doesn't have anything to do with what amar has said. I've been telling people not to expect it to be there.

Wasn't saying you specifically, just the folks in the thread going at it with E3 hype. If it does show up it'll be a nice surprise, but better off going in with expectations at rock bottom.

It wasnt just the standard cars in GT5/6 that was the issue. (altogether it is inexcusable if they are still using them)

Half the tracks in GT6 look like they took PS2 tracks and added some texture filtering to them and called it a day.

That's because some of them were. The new tracks and new cars were second to none on the PS3 GT games, but the nature of the upscaled tracks and cars gave it a really inconsistent feeling for a lot of people. It never really bothered me.

No no no no no no no no to all this arcade talk. DC does that excellently. GT needs to remain GT, which is Sim. Sim regardless of if it's a fully featured GT7 or a slimed down GTsport Prologue/VRdemo.

I wanna see cars play baseball and golf. But in reality, this is probably a hold off until GT7. Or maybe a Ground Zeroes type of snippet of gameplay.

Jesus Please no, where is that The Office gif when you need it. They need to ditch them, 500 premium cars is more then enough.

Oh god/

I imagine he got his info from what Yamauchi said in an interview

"I doubt that we'll be throwing away the standard cars," said Yamauchi. "Each car has its own fans. So I think we'll hang on to the archive. In the meanwhile, some of those cars we may be able to make into Premium cars as they become available - but basically we're more focussed on increasing the number of premium cars."

Ok it's a year old but still, not keen on that intent http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...o-7-is-in-the-works-standard-cars-set-to-stay

I disagree. What is your reasoning other than a gut feeling?

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a retailer out there taking orders on Mario Kart 9. Doesn't mean they know anything about it. They just know that it will eventually, and they want your money asap.

Retailer listings rank up there with trademark renewals and retweets in terms of being non-news.

So is Kaz going to Pikes Peak?

Platinum announcement to go with their platinum sponsorship? GT Sports announment there, Pikes Peak PS4 playable demos at the event.

Confirm Amar...

Would it bother you if they kept them under some archive menu in the game? I don't understand why some people want them away completely.

I think it's safer to assume the standard cars will work the same way as previous gran turismos on PS3, rather than have a separate "archive".

I just think it's going to be jarring seeing "standard" cars on the PS4, they're gonna stick out like a sore thumb.

While PD are ahead of the game in certain aspects, I feel they need to move with the times in other aspects.

I'm ok with having just one MX-5/Miata, I don't need 50 with 49 of them being standard cars,

Each to their own though....

I asked you about TLG, not this game.

Do people really think that it will be some arcade racing shit?

Heh, they clearly don't want to confuse fans with two different GT games, otherwise they would have went with that Gran Turismo Club game which turned out to be Driveclub.

If this "Sports" thing turns out to be true then my guess is that it will be an online multiplayer game something like iRacing with full FIA rules, Nascar, Super GT, Rally, Karts, maybe even F1,
Motorcycles (Moto GP)

I'm trying to picture the scenes of devastation in various industry PR departments today.

Sony particularly seems to have a great deal in common with this:

There's a considerable more amount of premium looking tracks than ps2 ported ones. Bolded are the ones that need a complete overhaul in modeling, even though some of them look a lot better with the addition of real-time lighting. Hoping they remodel these...

What if Gran Turismo Sports is just the natural culmination of Gran Turismo and Tourist Trophy?

(kinda loses it's meaning if we take Turismo as face value though)

I would add Cape Ring to the tracks that need a complete redo.

I would say every new track they have made since shipping GT5 has looked great. DLC for GT5 and the new tracks for GT6 all look top notch.

It's weird since Cape Ring was actually created for the ps3. It's incredibly barren looking though, almost as if they created it with the course maker in GT5.

I'm pretty sure they rehauled Autumn Ring for GT6, or an update did anyways.

They added some new trees, textures, and implemented real-time lighting. The actual track model looks considerably lower quality compared to something like Bathurst though.

From the title I expect it to be considerably bigger than a Prologue but with more of a focus on Sports cars and not the breadth that GT usually has.

If it's real that's my thought.

Limited to on track and off road rally, real world circuits only, and real world motorsports cars only, so they can provide a full damage mode without manufacturers hamstringing them. Some WRC, some DTM and LeMans supercars and done. Maybe half a dozen tracks, 30-50 cars and a $30-40 price tag to whet people's appetite until a full mega game next year and beta test all the online capabilities. All in 1080/60.

If they announce this for this fall they will sell millions of it.
