Rise of the Tomb Raider in-game screens

My definition of a bomb is that it doesn't chart in NPD. I still don't think it will chart, if only since there are tons of other franchises that'll be competing for precious charts space that holiday.

Not really a good measure, the game could still sell great and not chart (Last year MCC was #10 and sold 660K)

Now I understand why you said Forza Horizon, Driveclub, Sunset overdrive and others did not chart...

Previous game looked and played great. I have no doubt this will play great as well. Looks fabulous. Can't wait to see some gameplay next week.

The avalanche screen looks interesting, but you just know it's either a cut-scene or a heavily cinematic scene full of QTEs.

Miles pls.

I dont trust Crystal Dynamics to make an engaging game. Thats Naughty Dog's job, TR 2013 was just boring setpiece one after the other. The gameplay was alright.

It all looks amazing to me.. It's very interesting to see people say it doesn't look good.

It's hard to tell from pictures that are low res and heavily compressed, the thing that sticks out most to me is what appears to be really poor textures

Don't worry those are just Sony fanboys

People can't be critical of a game without being a fanboy? Jesus christ. From these screenshots, the game looks quite average for a current gen game releasing in 2015, the competition these days is fierce. It's entirely possible that these shots don't do the game justice but just because you think it looks fine doesn't mean everyone has the same standards

Aleeady has that whiff of uninspired AAAA focustest crap that the first game was cut from. This series is ready for a reboot.

Looks similar to the 'definitive' edition of Tomb Raider.

Which is a good thing, I think it looked great

Definitive Edition looked great at the time but I think people expect a game releasing 2 years into this generation to look better than what was essentially a (very nicely) glossed up port of a 360/PS3 game.

No but seriously this doesn't look that great. I think it's 360 shots.

Yeah the comics suck but they're getting better now that Rhianna Pratchett is writing them.

The first arc - Sam Kidnapped/ they went back to Yamatai
Second Arc - Damsel in distress
Third Arc - Actual adventure. (Rhianna Pratchett)

That she is writing isn't necessarily a boon. The story and writing in TR2013 sucked.

Someone get this man a picture of the world please.

Considering over 60% of Xbox One sales are in America, outside of the UK, I'd say NPD sales are pretty important.

You're forgetting it's (most likely) going to be heavily bundled, that's a guaranteed ~1.5mill or so sales minimum.

That is a good point, I forgot that I expect this game to be heavily bundled to take full advantage of the exclusivity period.

Makes me wonder what Square's sales expectations are. Dunno if 600K will cut it.

Prior to this thread, I had no idea this was cross-gen. Terrible decision.

From now on, all cross-gen games are getting a pass from me. It's time to move away from such restrictive hardware.

I'll hope this doesn't bomb, so we can get a current-gen only RotTR2.

I don't care about the graphics, I just want they get rid of that survival instict feature so the players will have to think just like the classic, original Tomb Raider games.

Looks good to me!

My fiancée has been playing the last game this past week on PS3, and loving it, so I'm suddenly a bit more hyped for this again, although I'm still incredibly pissed off about the 'timed exclusive on the series least successful platform' thing, but I can't wait to get my hands on it hopefully early next year.
