I really didn't believe this was going to be true. Wow.

Seems Squeenix found something to put Kitase/Nomura/Nojima on, lol. I expect this to be turned into Final Fantasy 19 ten years from now.

So after rewatching the trailer...I am pretty sure their plan is to cover the entire main game and then a time period after it. I mean that is pretty clearly hinted at in the title...you are seeing parts of time that weren't covered in FF7.

I feel like this will never actually release, and was only announced so people will like Square again. I want to be wrong tho.

I'm afraid to go to sleep. I'll wake up tomorrow and all Sony will have announced is a new Killzone game and Uncharted.

Still can't believe this happened. And it seems it'll be a high budget affair, but I'm not expecting it until 2017. Either way I'm hyped!

I'm wondering how Sony managed to secure this as a timed exclusive, and where are people getting this idea it'll come to PC and not Xbox One?

Square just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase FFVII Remake for either system, nor will they purchase any of Square's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Square has alienated an entire market with this move.

Square, publicly apologize and cancel FFVII Remake for One/PC or you can kiss your business goodbye.
ok, well between the Vita and PS3 versions X/X-2 HD sold 600,000. that's more than in the US.

I don't think this game can live up to the nostalgia people have for it. I enjoyed the game back in the day, but I've already played it, and I don't need to play it again. I'd rather Square spent their money on a new game, but I guess I'm in the extreme minority.

The wait will be crazy long, but day one.
I miss turn based jrpgs and yes the atb system in the original is still close enough imo.

Square Enix lost all self respect.
This will turn out a mess, they will do changes where they aren't necessary and make the game a shell of what it formerly was.

Mark my words, screenshot this. FF7 has so many things that won't fly in today's gaming standards.
Please explain or provide one example.
I want to do as you suggested, but I don't know which words to mark.

Holy fucking shit. Waking up to this.

Amazing.

I'm somewhat glad it wasn't released for the PS3 back in the day as we all hoped. Now we'll enjoy it in glorious PS4 graphics.

Great announcement. Who knows when it will be done though. Kinda surprised SE is investing this kind of money in consoles after their recent history regarding mobile, plus FFXV hasn't even launched yet. So I'm happy about that I guess.

It's super exciting to see it finally happening. I'm looking forward to it...but

...I don't think Square Enix can make games like FF7 anymore. I'm afraid it's going to be FFX13 with Cloud Strife.

What people want is to play FF7 with modern graphics. I don't think Square Enix can do that. They haven't been able to do it since FFIX.
