They totally trolled with that fucking Animal Crossing board game, too. I was like "OMG, Animal Crossing WiiU!"

Then....nothing.

The show was a bit of a letdown, but all of the people crying about selling their Wii Us are just venting. Mario Maker looks epic, it looks so much more nuanced than it did at first. Mario Tennis is always a winner. Star Fox looks like one of those games that needs to be played to be fully appreciated so I'll reserve judgement.

Yes, I was hoping for a Retro reveal or some other megaton, but this show is nowhere near the worst of all time.

Starfox, Zelda, fire emblem, Mario maker, yoshi, Mario rpg, xenoblade.

So you bought it in the first place...why?

I wanted to play Smash Bros with my buddies. Like I said above, I'm glad there are good games out for it now, but not being able to look forward to many new games sucks. Especially when you just bought a brand new console.

Every year.

Ahahahh. So we can all agreed It's all about next year and NX then?

I don't know why people had high expectations, it just isn't the right time for them to reveal anything significant.

it's nice to know starfox is coming out this year. Also Super Mario Maker. That's 2 exclusives that I'm looking forward to that are out this year.

I hyped this to my kids but now Im not sure I want to show them..

Is there any chance the treehouse can salvage this? Can they make any huge reveals through the treehouse?

I went in with no expectations. I was still pretty disappointed.

Star Fox Zero looks dope, and the muppets thing was pretty cute. Yoshi looks as great as ever, though the fact that it's coming out next week in the UK hurts. Super Mario Maker also looks awesome, but we've seen so much of it already.

I didn't expect Retro, though I was certain Next Level games was going to be there. Neither showed.

My dream game was a new Paper Mario, and we got a Mario & Luigi x Paper Mario crossover that is giving me a Sticker Star vibe, so that doesn't inspire confidence. I thought Animal Crossing U was a slam dunk (though I'm not a fan) and we got...whatever that was. SMT x FE is looking way too niche for me. The Metroid spinoff looks meh.

And the ending gave me Nintendo Land Fireworks flashbacks.

Disappointing. Looks like NX is full steam ahead.

I wanted a Wii U for 3 main reasons: Zelda Wii U, SMTxFE, and Metroid by Retro.

Earlier this year, the refurbs were back in stock so I picked one up, anticipating Zelda later during the holidays. Couldn't have been more excited.

Now, Zelda is pushed back to 2016 or possibly to their next system. Metroid is non-existent, and SMTxFE turned into some sad anime jrpg bs. The original Wii was a big disappointment for me, but I was still willing to give Wii U a chance...I think Nintendo just burned whatever good will I had left. If Zelda actually does come out next year, and isn't a Twilight Princess scenario, then that might help.

Luckily, the secondary reasons I bought the Wii U actually came through. Mario 3D World, DKCR2, Bayonetta 2. Still wouldn't have bought the Wii U just for this alone though.

We just witnessed WiiUs funeral live over the internet, so sad ;(

Really hope they'll go all out when NX releases, give your fans what they want!

So are they waiting with Zelda to put in on the new console? It's really weird that they show things, then not show anything.

The worst thing was that for a split second I actually thought we would get an Animal Crossing WiiU.

But it was just some party game :-(.

Starfox looked really good though, and I'm happy with the Xenoblade releasedate.

So much doubt for tomorrow? Based on what?

Honestly, for me it's based on the following:
1. The idea that the entire company is probably throwing its weight behind the NX and mobile development behind the scenes but we won't see either tomorrow.
2. The fact that there's already quite a few games we know about that are yet to release for 3DS and Wii U which could take up plenty of time, and
3. The 3DS is coming to the end of its life and the Wii U isn't a success. Doesn't make sense to keep throwing AAA blockbusters at them, imo.
4. No Zelda.

I reckon we'll see an AC: New Leaf remaster for Wii U, but little else that we haven't seen before. Last year was incredible, but this year I'm keeping my anticipation levels as low as possible.

Get ready to spend lots of time on Xenoblade, both Fire Emblems, indies, Wooly World etc. They'll make for a great release schedule but a poor 'hype show'.
Hate to quote myself but yeah...

Microsoft: C+

EA: C-

Ubisoft: B

Sony: A+

Nintendo: D-

The worst EA did was bore me. And Battlefront and Mirror's Edge surpassed my expectations. Nintendo fucking took each game request I had and butchered it. The only things that were good were already known of for awhile now. And after people's impressions of XCX I might just pass on it.

But seriously NIntendo, fuck you for those Metroid and Animal Crossing games. Yes I asked for Metroid and AC games but a 4 player 3DS shooter and amiibo party game are certainly not those. Star Fox looks underwhelming but not bad. I asked for Paper Mario not another Mario and Luigi.

God dammit Nintendo

Nintendo has a goldmine of IPs (Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus etc.) that they are just squandering terribly.

Literally refusing to accept the buckets of cash that would flow to them if they properly managed these IPs and disappointing countless #s of fans around the world as they do so.

That seemed real bad to me.

Wii U's still got Yoshi, Super Mario Maker, Tennis, Xenoblade and Star Fox. Guess that ain't bad. And whatever the AC game is.

Paper Jam was an alright surprise, though if it's as guided (hand holding) as Dream Team Bros. then it isn't for me.

Who knows how big Triforce Heroes is. And the small amount of Metroid didn't look so good.

Jeez guys it wasn't that bad...

New Paper mario game
New Fire Emblem game
New F zero game

I mean, I only care about Paper mario out of those, but it really wasn't that bad really. Could have been much better, sure, but come on...

None of those things happened...

Most of it is stuff we already knew about. There were only a few new games, and they were not what people wanted.

People wanted a really Animal Crossing and Metroid Prime Wii U title. Instead, they gets lame spin offs for the 3DS.

Hey guys, at least we got Fatal Frame, Devil's Third, XCX, Star Fox Zero and other games planned to be released this year.

This digital event was shit, but they already showed those games we want in the previous direct.
