I mean, we don't directly see Sephirot killing people, it's just a bunch of slashed walls with blood in them so maybe?
Well that's good, because they aren't, they're porting it once and they're remaking it once. Porting it is all of the hassle of putting a ROM everyone's been using since Bleem! on a distribution platform.

Watch them switch things up and Tifa dies in place of Aeris. I'd be ok with that actually as I always wanted Cloud to end up with feisty Aeris instead of that basic flop Tifa.

As someone who was 7 when they first played FFVII, I didn't even mind when Aeris died, I was always into Tifa. Because bewbs basically.

Plus Aeris' limit breaks are more useful....if you waste your time leveling her up before she meets her cruel fate
I have already expressed my opinion saying that I'm on team ATB. I still think it's a good idea for people to present their opinions right? I actually enjoy taken to show off the art style and assets. Classic ATB gave time to relish in those effects. I distinctly remember being disappointed when FFXIIs brisk pace had slightly shortened the spell animations (summons were still neat in that one as their final attacks were cool)
Anyways moving on I also agree with everybody who wants to see the Character shots and promotional artworks remade. In a perfect world I would love to see micro updates on this game. Where they show us these remade artworks and remade assets, or new assets and design choices. Sort of like the smashbro brawl updates or the fighting game roster teases?
A remake of this game is pretty close to being unprecedented. So much love for the title and time since the release, so much scope and breadth to the project and design decisions. I feel they have a serious media opportunity to promote the title and show their design choices at the same time.

Nevar! Tifa is the greatest female character along with Celes and Freya. As for Aerith, she was booooring and Mary-Sueish as hell, hence the writter's wisdom in deciding to kill her off.

Tifa gets Cloud to snap out of it when he's a vegetable. Both women are strong in their own way.

Really though, a romance couldn't properly develop in the story with the way he was. That probably would have happened after AC's events(assuming that's still canon).

Tifa protects Cloud's sanity through the entire game by playing along with his SOLDIER bullshit and not contradicting him when he was telling the Nibelheim story, not to mention bringing him back from a catatonic state - which she stopped trying to save the world to take care of him by the way. While Aeris is selling flowers Tifa is busy trying to save the damn planet from Mako abuse. Tifa doesn't need to be flirty because shit is so strong it can be just implied and people will ship it while Aeris only really cares about Cloud because he kinda reminds her of Zack.I mean... Tifa saves Cloud from himself, she stays by him while hes wheelchair bound and braindead, and stands by him to march into the northern crater, the rest of the cast leaves then decides to come back, Tifa is ready to march into hell immediately

Tifa is the better character in my opinion. She's stronger mentally, much more rounded in regards to what she wants to protect, her life decisions and her actual competency.
The only thing she's not good at, is knowing how to make choices easily, and it bites her in the ass in multiple parts of the game.
I don't have an issue with Aerith, but i would disagree that she was the better character.

To me is all about pure damage output. Anybody can heal, status ailments can easily be addressed/caused. Any chance to do more damage makes a character more useful, like the multiple slot techniques. That's why my final party is always made of Cloud Tifa Cid Berret Or Vincent, multiple hit limit breaks. Never had a moment of a last minute save using Aeris' limit breaks.

While I may talk out loud for my hopes and wishes for the game, I have full trust this man cares about the project and will make it the best he possibly can. Will I love it? Who knows, but I hope he follows his own instinct and blocks out all the fans input.

In all seriousness I feel she is slightly underrated compared to Aerith in different ways.
One being a love interest and relevance in terms of a female hero compared to Aerith.
She didn't have Holy sure but she had brute strength. This is a woman who can throw boulders and hold her own like the rest of the guys. She also is a big part in why the world was saved she got Cloud to snap out of it and was ready to go into combat and face Sephiroth even if it meant her life.

CC2 is still the frontrunner i think. I don't see SE having the manpower with all their other projects to do this, they are already outsourcing and finding success, so i feel its very logical to bring back CC2, who has a good track record with cinematography, real time graphics, story(their naruto games speak for themselves), as well as battle system(in regards to Dot Hack)

The height of JRPG's was when exclusivity was very much a thing. During the PSone and PS2 generations when seemingly all JRPG's were funneled into a single console. It made it clear to gamers that if they wanted to play them, then there was really only one answer. The way Nomura spoke about FF7 in a recent console made it seem like that's exactly what Square is trying to do with the PS4. You want to play JRPG's this gen? You better buy a PS4.

This too. I love Tifa's relationship with Cloud, but her competency on her own as a character in regards to development is probably the absolute best thing they could give to her in this new game, i hope they really understand that.
It was ok in the original, but it would be really great to see it expanded fully just like everything else. What she was doing in the interim
I'm on both team Tifa and Aerith but I think Tifa is by far a better character simply because of the amount of time you spend with her in comparison. I'd actually go as far to say that Tifa is the deepest and most interesting character in VII. Especially throughout the events in Disc 2.
Well if she wasn't dead then, she definitely was after Cloud dumped her in the lake.
