They dont want to be apart of SE anymore, they have their own projects and are happily divorced based on Sakaguchi's statements. Also, Mistwalker is not a large studio, there are only several people making mobile games at this point in time.

My suggestion was formed around an advisorary position. Not a highly significant role, but, still valueble.

That One winged angel statue reflection in the water puddle beside Aeris's flower before the feather hits.

Hnng!

This trailer is amazing.

Don't know whether you're joking but to me it looks like Aerith bent down tending to her flowers.

I'm not joking... He's wearing clothes that are similar to Auron's (and different than the other characters in that scene), he is colored red, he has Auron's hair and is doing a typical Auron's moody pose. With Nojima onboard I do think it's a cameo, like Aya Brea's.

Her death is very important to not only the plot of the game, but the themes of the game.

So I would be highly upset personally.

I agree you cant save aerith thats the most important scene in the game.
you always see it on the web as the scene that make cry, or the most shocking...
and i think they will stay canon to advent children.

Lmao, I just reached the part on the Cargo Ship. How on earth are they going to render Red XIII standing on his hind legs dressed in a Shinra uniform pretending to be human?

And the goddamn dolphin jump sequence, and the parade, ahaha.

Haha, the dolphin part is the first thing that comes to my mind when I think about the silly moments that will be the most difficult to remake. I don't get the issue with the cross-dressing part in comparison, as I think that's funny, not ridiculous like the dolphin scene.
Especially if you consider that probably the whole party will be displayed on map and not only Cloud, so the dolphin would have to carry 5-6 people :D

I don't expect the dolphin on the remake at all. Goofy moments are one thing but that is just absurd. I'd take an infiltration minigame instead.
Beaten.

Auron's hair is combed back, but that does look like his jacket.

oh my god remember that FF10 world is supposed to take place in the same universe but in other planet. shinra from ff10-2 created the materias idea and some of his familly came to ff7 planet way later.
Since auron is
dead ,maybe he will came back in the same way that tidus
Maybe thay will make a link to FF7 remake to a future FF10-3 which is hinted in the audio drama of the hd collection.

I'll probably draw flak for this but I'd really prefer that they toned down or got rid of the love triangle between Tifa/Cloud/Aeris so they can focus on making the connection between Aeris and Zack stronger. It'd be part of integrating him more into the story, not directly but better referencing him and all that. I mean, there is that element already in the story but I'd really like them to make it clearer.

i dont, even after CC, SE have made it abundently clear that Aeriths love is cloud, and i liked the decision making in FFVII on who you prefer as a pairing

Interesting...I find IX more charming (who doesn't) but...none of the locations feel as iconic for me as places like Midgar do. I can think of more quirky/landmark/interesting things (again, imo) from VII locations like Kalm (yeah...a medieval/steampunk looking town in a dirty industrial cyberpunk world), Junon (the cannon obvs), Nibelheim etc. I mean for me it's mostly nostalgia but y'know.

i dont know i think all the locations in FF7 are pretty iconic bar 1 or 2, junon is pretty iconic with that canon, fort condor, costa del sol, wutai, chocobo ranch, nibelheim, temple of the ancients, rocket town, city of the ancients, cosmo canion, mideel, while kalm, corel and icicle Inn are more of passing points they have their story elements that make them stick with you

midgar is more iconic though, thats for sure, but i think its more on the kind of city it is, th visual spectacle of the opening and the amount of time you pass on it

Beaten.
Actually Cloud splits off from the rest of the party at that point, the dolphin thing is Cloud only.
it's still ridiculous but not quite as much.

Also goddamn, Jenova:BIRTH looks a lot like a Necromorph.

It really is brilliant.

I'm not used to subtlety after the overtly bombastic spectacles of the XIII fiasco.

I know there aren't many right now but which current version of FFVII would most people say is the best to play?

Actually, if you want to play the original, wait for the PS4 port version, because they are apparently retranslating it.

Unless you want the original everything, in which case, emulation or Steam are your best options.

And the Turks.

I don't think you can go wrong either way with how you include Zack in FFVII. Zack overall was great.

Yeah, He's a great char and I'd be happy if they added anything more about him in the base game. More about the Turks too.

Zack was Aerith's ex. Not sure why you'd tone down Aerith as a potential love interest when Zack is dead and gone?

Hrm, perhaps clearing it up would be better as a term for it than toning it down. The original really didn't have that much going on for the two anyway overall.

One of the biggest problems I had with the original was Cloud's lack of distinct personality. For most of the early part of the game, there's that element that he's taking on the memories of Zack and copying him in many respects. Which is great because it's his mystery and trial. However, once he figures he just sort of lacks a personality at all. I'd really like them to better define him in the remake.

In that respect, the Cloud and Aeris relationship to me is just a part of that big mystery, the confusion of fuzzy memories. Tifa is the one that represents who he who was and who he could/should be. By downplaying the triangle, I think you can get a better amount of separation between Zack and Cloud.

I'm pretty different than most on this though as I've always seen Cloud/Aeris as not an actual relationship, just a device to make the memory stuff more convincing, heh.

Pretty much.

Zack is her young love and then she grows up and falls for Cloud.

I'm personally mixed on Zack's story. On one hand, I did really like his character in CC and his design was great. On the other, his scenes stealing iconic moments from Cloud, having way too much influence when the original game ignores it and his ridiculous over done ending when the original get's right to the point and is far more brutal makes me hesitant about him. If they want to have his influence a bit more in the remake, I think it should go solely to Cloud since his connection is far more important to his character.

I agree in that his connection should go to Cloud if they want to make his influence more felt in the story but in what respect would it be necessary. As I said above, I'd like to more clearly differentiate the two and to define Cloud himself. I think outlining Zack's role and clearing up the elements where the two get mixed up a lot would be beneficial to that. As I recall, Aeris says that Cloud reminds her of Zack but wants to see the real Cloud. I think the best way to do that is to clearly define Zack and highlight the difference between the two.

But eh, it's unlikely to happen like that anyway. I'm in the minority when it comes to this point, lol

Yeah, FF7 as is feels kinda lacking without really explaining what happened in Crisis Core. Not that we need to revisit all the Angeal/Genesis shenanigans but at the very least we could use a few flashbacks of Cloud and Zack's relationship

Oh yeah, for sure. Not so much in the crazy story shenanigans but how Zack relates to the characters, particularly Cloud and Aeris. I think his relationships with those two fill out FF7 a bit better when you think about the events and all that.

Wow, just looking at these little touches and easter eggs makes me much more confident about this remake, you can tell the guys love the game as much as we fans.

I really like how they teased the trailer with the lifestream.

The one change I would expect is that they find a way to make her a viable choice as a party member for the time she's around without it being worthless on the efficiency side.

ehhhhhh. I have it, and although the port is basically perfect, it just feels super wrong playing ff7 on a handheld to be honest.

IMO PSX version is still the best, but its difficult to find so if you cant just go 2012 remake.

I get that haha. I prefer playing Jrpgs on handhelds nowadays, but if that's not your cup of tea, then PSX version all the way.

I think no random battles, no battle transition and no partymembers standing in line is what most people agree on...
But should it be action combat or turn based or any possible combination of the two? :D
I guess they will surprise us with something new anyway.

Combination ensures no one is happy

I would love for Uematsu to return but he wouldn't really do much other than approve of whomever arranges the tracks into orchestral form. The songs are already done.

He could write a theme song for a female singer, lol. All the mainline FFs since VIII have had one.

Didn't they say they were porting the pc version of ff7 to the ps4 or something like that? Should I just wait for the remake or should I get the one off of psn, because I've never played final fantasy before and I kinda want to start with this one. If the pc version coming to the ps4 is superior, I'll just wait for that one. Don't have a pc for gaming, thats why I was asking

After some thought I think they can reach 2017 if a full team is working on it and it will be on UE4 with CC2. They have the music, the models, story minus some added additions and what they want the world to look like in current gen.

The major work comes into modeling the world to be more current and work in full 3D and what battle system.
Voice actors are most likely already in thought but I would like a different VA for Cloud,Cait Sith and Sephiroth.

At most a 2018 release I think they can do it we will just have to see how far it is during the winter.

It was delayed to this holiday to add filler for it.
As I fear that a few other downloadable games might be, such as Journey. E3 came and went, and the PS4 version is still absent from the Store.

So I started a new playthrough of FFVII last night. I'm assuming FFVII:R is going to have a fairly realistic visual style which makes me wonder how they're going to handle stuff like this:

Every time I come across a new enemy type, I can't help but wonder how they're going to be incorporated into the remake because when you really think about it, there are some strange ass creatures inhabiting the planet in this game.

Yeah, I think that would be unnaceptable with today standards.

They need to do stuff like magic skills, summmons, monsters all differently because a lot about this game vomits 90s

The same way they incorporated this in FFXIII-2 IMO:
