Final Fantasy VII PC port for PS4 out Oct 16th, $15.99

Maybe it includes a demo of the real remake? :p

But yeah, that's quite the price. Not really interested in it.

I really hope they clean up the pre-rendered backgrounds a bit. The worst thing about the PC version was the uprezzed polygon models against the still low rez and blocky pre-rendered backgrounds. Looked so out of place.

Oh I wished so hard for a summer release...

I guess I will play it early next year to prepare my final goodbye for the game before the remake takes it place.

Should have gotten it out before E3, because the remake announcement is going to make a lot of people think they just don't 'need' this version anymore.

Of course of course.

Trust me dude. Many people will buy this. Myself included. For no real reason other than this is my favorite Final Fantasy game.

Eh, if anything, the announcement got me all amped up to play FF7 again. I do wish it'd been available right then, but I'll happily buy and play it in October.

Buying it for sure.

Funny thing is even at that price it'll consistently be in the top 10 PSN sellers each week for years, guaranteed.

Wasn't going to buy it, but since they are giving us the remake I will buy it. Want to help fund FF7R.

I just hope the game and FMV's are widescreen and touched up.

Bah, that's much later than I expected. Secretly I hoped for a surprise E3 announcement that it would be available "Right Now!" but I'll have to wait I guess.

So this would not be able to use the save from the Vita PS1 version, right? Really wish they would release it on both like FFX HD.

Agree, they should rerender the backgrounds.

Regular price for PS1 classic is 14.99 right? So its a buck for trophies and a resolution bump.

It's ten euro on the EU store, which makes a difference of 6 euros for trophies and a questionable upgrade in graphics (with much of it being prerendered).

I thought I read somewhere they're gonna redo the translation

If there was going to be a new translation, wouldn't S-E be more upfront about it?

That sounds like way more effort than necessary, especially since they're working/not-working on a remake.

The PC version fixes one or two lines (including the legendary "This guy are sick.")
I can't recall if that's recent or was around since the original Eidos release.

Jason Kidd murdered my dog in cold blood!
Square overprices their digital ported games.

In other news, water is wet, sky is blue.

Tbh it's not over priced if people pay it. Basic capitalism!

Anyway, I take this as a sign that the remake is going to be VERY different, because otherwise this port my satisfy ppl's FF7 itch enough that they skip the remake.

I'm still a little baffled that this is coming out, given the remake. But it's not like it won't sell. The biggest benefit would be to those console-only gamers who've never played it, and who could experiment both the original and remake on a single, currently supported device.

I'd rather just pay $10 for the PS1 Classics version and be able to play it on my TV or Vita, since I still have a PS3 hooked up. But I still have the original copy I bought on 9/7/97, though. I can pop that in my PS3 any time.

most of these companies don't have the original assets.
