Horizon Zero Dawn: What they didn't show at the conference + Interview (PS Access)

Playstation Access just uploaded those two videos for Horizon Zero Dawn.

Interview:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_p4u8xIQxo

What they didn't show at the conference:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdGgeGY6nLc

- The Thunderjaw has 550k polygons.
- It has 93 plates of armor that can be attacked individually.
- It has two major weak points, the "power core" in the heart, & "AI Core" in the head.
- The game is "very much an RPG".
- You can "quick craft" arrow heads for the bow.
- There's towns, villages, & quests.
- Crafting is a major component of the game.
- The game is targeting 2016.
- The combat is described as "tactical".
- Every single location seen in the trailer is explorable.
- The RPG elements will not slow down the combat.
- Aloy's "job" is a machine huntress.
- The "Combat" & "RPG" are both very big parts of the game.

A lot of that is old info, but there's some new info as well.

Machine Huntress sounds so fucking badass. I also really like them reinforcing the fact that this game is an RPG, as that's exactly what I want.

I hope they make one more that's a prequel where everything kicks off between Earth Colony and the OG Vektans.

I don't care where they go with it, I'm in either way.

I'm still thinking Cambridge will take over. They were beefing themselves up over several months so I can't imagine the only thing they're doing is an arena shooter for Morpheus.

Cambridge is pretty small, only 70 people work there.

There should be one more major weak point, if you know what I mean.

At this point I just need them to tell me there's a good story behind it and that quests are interesting and I'm there day one.

They seem to have a great lore to explore, I'm crossing my fingers they do a good service to said lore.

Cannot wait.

They've been hiring a lot since the layoffs a couple years ago. Last I saw, those adverts were for a "high profile" franchise. That isn't Rigs.

Compare their size to Sucker Punch and your can definitely see that they could be big enough for a mainline Killzone considering they have an engine already.

I can't wait for this game but does it bother anyone else that the big creatures are moving both limbs on one side forward at the same time? The kicker is the little guys are walking correctly.

That's also how camels walk. Not that uncommon in nature.

I like the new informations but they're showing too much the same footage over and over :(

Pretty sure they're not allowed to show anything else...

Even the concept arts that the press got to see aren't revealed to us. Probably kept for a GameInformer/EDGE blow-out later this year or next year. ;)

I found out in the other thread that that is how tall creatures like Giraffes walk. So they are indeed walking correctly.

Every time I see this trailer, after wiping my mouth I always come to the conclusion that it's set in the post-killzone world. Those buildings in the beginning look really similar to the ones shown in Shadowfall, and then there was the whole robo dino teaser in there as well. Am I just piecing shit together or is it something?

Huh? That's exactly what they showed at the conference. Or do you mean them talking over it? Well, the polygon count was new I guess.

Either way, still looking great!

This game just looks so incredibly amazing. Guerrilla was clearly destined for better things and that brilliance really always showed.

Probably just efficient to recycle Killzone assets.

No point at creating assets of a new cityscape if all it's going to be used for is a story backdrop of 1,000 years ago.
