Hmm.. watching this I'm not so sure. The developer is constantly running away from enemies because they seem like they have too much health (it takes A LOT to kill even a basic enemy)/the AI is too smart.
Doesn't seem fun sometimes.
Tactical retreats and chases are part of the space dog-fight anime influence though. That pacing of being on the offensive and switching to evasive maneuvers before going back on the offensive or being more crafty through the game's systems is what creates the tense, flashy ballet of death. It also puts the player's skill controlling the ship to the test, and justifies all the zero g physics and environmental/AI interaction in the level.
I was actually looking forward to it being 'just a shooter'. The mech looks cool but I hope you can play throu without relying on it, or the parry mechanisms etc.
Also, SCEE - how about an offer like the US has?
They've been saying "summer 4 realz" since E3. It's likely they wanted to just go dark until they were announced as part of Sony's PLAY 2015 promotion.
Has there been any word on dual audio?
in the GB Jake says that Season 5 will not be in at launch but come as free DLC coinciding with the Steam release which he says will be "September maybe October."
I get what they are going for and I think it's less of an issue on the big hulking ships and enemies, but those little buggers seem rather annoying. Like the drones from Halo, but with shields and are constantly slipping out of the way. Damn little buggers!
This game still seems really cool overall, I'm just torn between this and N++ and I'm trying to create excuses in my head why I should pass.
Or I'll just get both. -_-

what an embarrassing post. why post this in this thread?
Relax. Besides, it is not a AAA game so it doesn't count
aw fuck yeah
Hnnnghgh! This game has somehow morphed into a crazy top down procedural Platinum action game
I mean wtf
Parries, bruh. PARRIES
When I first saw this game, alway kinda hoped the ship could transform. And that it would be like robotech/macrossI played this with the dev team at the Playstation Experience and they teased me when I told them how awesome it would be if the ship transformed since there was so much Macross influence.
BAHGAWD THEY DID IT!!!
I really enjoyed the game back then and I can now see this becoming one of my faves of all time. :O

So I saw what was said about it having "seasons" and episodes. Does this mean the whole game won't be released at once and I'll have to wait for the next parts to come out? (The polygon vid said you don't get the mech until the end of the first season...)

1. Ok, you have my money.
2. Good luck with the Harmony Gold lawsuit.
4 seasons at launch, with a 5th and different difficulty modes coming eventually. So I saw what was said about it having "seasons" and episodes. No, released as a whole game.
That's the joke. Of course they didn't. But they have historically sued just about anyone who tries to make any games or films related to the genre in the U.S.As a transforming robot fetishist, I approve of this. Unfortunately, I just learned that the Vita port was canceled, which kills my hype.
Yeah, because they invented transforming mechas. This is far more Gundam than Macross anyway.
