Actually those games all play different according to their set of characters.

Heh, Itagaki's perversion lives on.

Not surprised if this ends up being Japan and Asian exclusive.

Unlike other fanservice orientated games like Senran Kagura or Onechanbara, which are actually action games at core, X3 probably has fuck all gameplay and probably will consist of just a collection of crappy minigames.

For me it was sufficient due to the newer characters actually being balanced well. Just some boss fights where stupid and needed to be remade and in other areas Hayashi went too far with difficulty.

They fixed pretty much everything that could be fixed without making an entirely new game, but most people never even played it.

This week's magazine, Hayashi talks about Western version

"The majority of the fans for this franchise is in Japan and Asia so that's why we decided to release it only for Japan and Asia. But if there are many requests from western fans, we will consider releasing a modified version for the west."

If those are screenshots from the game, it's what I expected... one last way to get use out of DoA5 engine and assets. That's Kasumi on Zack Island taken straight from the existing game. A bit disappointing, but expected. I still think DoA5 LR looks great on PS4, and it's really surprisingly gorgeous on Vita so this makes sense.

Considering that the female body types in DoA5 are all so similar (there's like 4 basic types, almost identical between characters), it's hard to recommend the game from a 'pretty girls' point of view. Then add on the ludicrous amounts of DLC likely to follow and I'm not sure why I'd be interested in this game unless, like DoA5 itself, I love the gameplay in a major way.

Looking forward to DoA6 where hopefully they can give the ladies a bit of the body diversity the men have.

Yeah, I feel like the appeal of DoA girls is one of our last hopes for getting another Wave Race-like game. Jetskiing alone isn't enough to sell games anymore :(

Humm so they are probably going to have to gimp the graphics engine to get it running on Vita. No aliasing on the PS4 version here we come. I don't trust Team Ninja to use the extra power of the PS4 and not simply make these identical on the PS4 and Vita.

Hopefully the volleyball is back to DOAX1 levels of quality.

Bet this is gonna be free to play.

They will be releasing character themes on August 20th, and the characters with top 9 sales will be in the game. The image on the magazine shows Kasumi, but if she is not in the top 9 then she will not be in the game.

I never liked Xtreme even if no one actually tried to play the game ._. it was horrible. It's bad enough that people don't take the fighting games seriously which are pretty good but, no one will actually take them seriously because of the costumes and such. Xtreme just helps aids the fact that no one takes DoA too seriously. Sorry that's a rant I needed off my chest.

I shouldn't come in here and be a sore sport about this. If you guys enjoy this enjoy it.

Hope the Volleyball is better.
Hope the mini games are better.
Hope you all enjoy your wank and have fun with it.

While I would be shocked, it might make sense if there's no plans for DLC, because the entire endeavour might be a ploy to resell the DLC they've already made, attached to one or two highly basic mini games.

If you get all of the swimsuits from DoA5 that's about 5-6 per girl. Now unlock 5-6 between girls (i.e. they can use other characters' swimsuits) and you've already got 12+. Just throw it all together and charge 60 bucks, bingo, you just resold tons of content to your fans who have already bought it as DLC for a different game. Your main artists can be off working on Ninja Gaiden / DoA6 the whole damn time as their work isn't required.

Yeah I really feel mixed about that, but I can't do anything about it so I roll with it. Wish there were more people who enjoyed the game as much as I do. Why are 3D fighters so unpopular, it's 2D fighters that leave me cold :(

Perfect opportunity to have an arcade style volleyball game with characters doing moves from their fighting styles, but they try to make it a sim. A terrible sim.

At least Kasumi got an ass. Carry that forward to DoA6.

3D fighters are less about spectacle and more about mind games to be honest. It's easier to understand for people who don't play it or play it seriously to know why something was really good.

I know you can hide trophies on PS4 but is it also a feature on the Vita?

Having played a fair share of DoA5 on PS4 the lighting in that shot in OP looks miles ahead of what's in DoA5. Presumably this is also going to be 30FPS all the time so that'll let them have some freedom.

Gematsu messed up here. Original Japanese text is "女性キャラは全員出るわけではない。" and it translates to "Not every female character will be in this game".

They also got the DLC part wrong I think. They say they will not add additional girls as DLC. It doesn't say there will be no DLC at all in the game.

In that case the claim of 'No DLC' is pure bullshit. The character models are done and ready to go. There is absolutely no reason at all not to include them.

Anyway, my guesses as to who makes the cut / who doesn't. (Bearing in mind it's Japan voting, right?)

Hayashi was only a co-producer on Hyrule Warriors and Team Ninja was responsible for the worst part of the game (giant monster bosses).

If they truly go to a vote in Japan as to the most popular girls then there's no need to worry, the roster will be Marie Rose and 8 clones.
First clone being Honoka lol

Yeah you're right, I missed that. The girls that don't make it to the Top 9 won't be in the game and they don't plan to add them via DLCs too.
