LEGO |OT 4| EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!

When I was at the LEGO store getting them they only let me buy 16 because they had extremely limited supplies. I was surprised because usually the limit is like 25. I went to the Target across the street after I got my 16 from The LEGO Store and they had 1 box left in back which they got for me and I went ahead and felt through them for the duplicates I wanted and for every single banshee, spectre and zombie businessman. I wouldn't mind some more banshees and spectres still even. Those two are awesome.

ALSO if you go to Target, have them look it up with the DCPI: 204001379

oh. wow. there are tons at all 3 or 4 targets i can access.

i know what i'm doing in the morning.

thanks, ryuu.

I really like how the body is put together. Seems like a really cool build. And man is he huge.

So these are gonna be at the midnight release tomorrow? If so i'll be there.
Wow, that actually looks great.

Ryuuroden, I can't compete man. That's a terrific haul.

Phon, really like your Wall-E mod. It doesn't appear to be available north of the border yet but I plan on buying a couple and will definitely use your suggestion.

Ghostmind - you're pretty tapped into the SW scene. Isn't there a live-stream for SW toys today? Anything worthwhile? Any LEGO news?

Actually, I did one more mod to it. I stole this from Willp's design.

I replaced the 1x3 and 1x2 technic plates and the pin/axle piece with just one technic 1x3 crank handle.

You can see it in his post here:
3E17C406-9A95-4154-87B9-0AD3B16A492A_zpsa5csi6hi.jpg

It is a single piece, so it is much more stable than my multi piece solution. it also doesn't have the pin/axle part protruding and touching the ball joint now, so it all fits together more snugly.

Thanks, Willp! That was a fantastic piece selection there!

EDIT: On a different note, we got in all the smaller EpVII sets at work today. Everything up to the Special Forces TIE Fighter.
Sigh...I need that TIE now. Real bad.
Too bad they didn't send us the Sex Wing or Falcon. Maybe if I buy enough stuff Friday they will see there is a demand and send more stuff. After all, since I bought random stuff there we are getting more LEGO in that we normally wouldn't.

Would be funny if they started stocking exclusives there because of you. Like they start getting modulars and stuff and it sits there and eventually gets discounted and your like yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, scored a Pet Shop for 1 dollar!

Sadly, the exclusives are online only. It seems that when I ordered the Helicarrier and that whole fiasco started it was before they flipped the switch in the internal computer system to say "not available to order in stores." And my discount doesn't work on LEGO online, which is lame.

I thought about ordering Temple of Airjitzu or the upcoming Echo Base since they are in the system, just to get the discount before they take away the store purchase option. But I don't know if the discount is worth the hounding them for weeks to send me stuff I paid for.

All I know is that we randomly got some Scooby sets in the other day, and no real place for them to go since we aren't a store flagged to get them. But hey, the sets they sent are the ones I didn't get yet. So bully for me! Time to finish the theme!

They just unveiled Poe Dameron's X-Wing on the Star Wars reveal livestream.

I'm not sure these YouTube personalities have ever built LEGO before, because they were excited that the manual was in color.

Black-and-white manuals is the new "mix the bags".

EDIT: Although it uses elastic bands again, the s-foils movement was really smooth on this.

SEX WING!

I asked in the Force Friday thread, but I will get a better response here:
Is the new windshield a smaller version of the Red Five version? If so, will the sticker be as annoying or will this be printed?

And LOVE the new helmets on the mini figs. I knew when I saw the Ultra Agents helmets with the combo opaque helmet and clear visors they would use them for Star Wars stuff later. They look amazing.

All the non UCS X-wings have been printed afaik. At least the 3 I own are.

And damn, I could'a posted something before Ghostmind but I didn't know that no one had posted the commemorative brick yet.

I know it is about the economy of scale. They knew they will sell more of the smaller sets, so it is cost effective to print the windshield, especially if they can use it in multiple sets. They used the windshield from the 2012 Sex Wing in the Y-Wing and some Rebels stuff as well for example.
Whereas the $200 set, which should have printed stuff just because you are paying so much for it anyways, gets one of the most nerve wracking stickers to apply because there are no other sets that would use that windshield with that print, and they know they won't sell as many so why spend the money printing the parts.

Yeah, those new helmets are sexy.

Now they need to reissue all the OT pilots again.

Aw man, just watched Fury Road again. I know it will never happen but I'do love some official Mad Max themed sets.

I don't plan on doing a christmas display this year outside of the normal Winter Village stuff. Perhaps the holidays are prime time to make a Mad Max MOC or so. I haven't done a wheeled vehicle MOC before.

I picked up a Wall-E at TrU in Dartmouth, NS last night. The guy told me 8 copies came in that afternoon and were on the shelf around 4pm. When I was there at 8:30pm only 3 were left and I decided I'd grab one in case Lego drops the ball on this set.

Looks like the new SW films are going to take off. I wonder how much they will impact the OT sets in the future. The TLG makes it clear that the prequels take a back seat to the OT but going forward the new films may take on more importance.

Once the Red Five is gone (I'm assuming soon) when is the next time TLG gets around to releasing an OT X-Wing? Maybe we see UCS sets from the new films while less UCS from the OT.

With a movie releasing next year that takes place during the OT and focuses on a group of X-Wing pilots I have an extremely hard time believing there won't be at least one classic X-Wing set released.

I was thinking about that. I have no clue how many sets they plan to do with the spin-off films. The next film in the series is out 5 months after Rogue One.

I guess I have to make a run tomorrow for CMF 14. Which is the better place to try, Target again or TRU?

That is very interesting that S@H ran out and they have limited supply in retail store.
I wouldn't read too much into it, just they may be behind in production and shipping.
I was going to wait to hit up my local LEGO store again for duplicates (I nabbed all 16 yesterday) until next week. I may try to swing by this Friday instead and see what their inventory looks like.

I was surprised to see the print on the skeleton minifig go completely around the head.
Frankenstein was interesting as it seems like it is the new two-color arms, but still had pad printing to make the sleeves jagged.

I see them expanding to 4 waves per year for the foreseeable future. Just too much money on the table not to.

Anyone here have the 75051 Jedi Scout Fighter or got opinions on it? I could get it a pretty big discount but have never heard about this one, it's from the Yoda Chronicles right?

edit: nevermind, discount's gone, so is my interest then..

In my bricklinking for the next set of Waller customs I now have 100x President Business hairs and heads, now I have to think of some creative way to use them in a MOC

The fact that Poe's X-Wing has a ladder is such an inspired decision. That simple element is such an excellent stab at nostalgia.

Edit: Oh damn! You guys weren't kidding about the helmets. I hadn't noticed that before; fantastic.

Got Wall-E in the mail today. Couldn't hold myself and build it immidiatly.

What a lovely model! I like how it turned out, truly an awesome piece. The head is a problem though (I have the Euro edition, and it is the same) but I don't lind all that much as I will only pose him.

Tomorrow I'll order the Falcon. I'll wait for my other TFA haul when doube VIP hits. (I hope it extents to Europe?)

Sweet haul there and an instant backlog! ;) It also reminds me, I need to get around to ordering the rest of the Scooby sets, as I currently only have the Mystery Machine but want them all.

Wow, these are a bit bigger than I expected. For some reason I pictured them being a bit shorter. I wonder how they stack up to the old Technic figures as far as height and size. I think some of these may be the only thing I get of the new sets immediately, while I wait for the rest of the new sets to go on sale at some point in the future.

I'm straight up not getting anything besides grevious and Vader. the rest look really awkward. Expecially luke.

So is it confirmed they're gonna be at the midnight event tonight? I don't want to go only to see they're not here

I feel the same way. I'm more excited about the Grievous one than I have been for a set in ages.

I'm straight up not getting anything besides previous and Vader. the rest look really awkward. Expecially luke.

Agreed. Grievous and Vader are clearly the class of the first wave of figs. I may hold off on getting Obi-Wan and Luke for end of this month and next month to use as my purchase to get the free SW poster from S@H. Though one could argue that, Luke especially, some of these will be headed towards the clearance section months down the road if one were inclined to wait for the best deals on these.

Same here though Cody looks good i think since he's already wearing that same armor in the series as well unlike some of the other characters... Obi Wan could be decent too since he as well, sometimes wears armor like that in TCW.

I hope S@H updates at midnight ET. I will stay up to secure my Falcon.

Damn, been long since I've been hyped for something. Used to have the same feelings when a game I wanted released, but that's been years since I felt that.

What are the odds that the Star Wars advent calendar is sold-out prior to mid-October (and the xmas set special)?

Would rather delay and pair that with the Winter Village set if it will last, if not I can likely find something else to get me to $100+.

Got another six CMF (total of 24 now) and got two plant guys that I wanted, as well as a wolf guy and another gargoyle. Also got a frankenrocker and a bigfoot I didn't want, but oh well. Just missing the cheerleader and witch now.

Just did Force Friday in Melbourne, Australia. Went to Toys R Us and Target at midnight. TRU had none of the new Force Awakens sets at all, and Target had only the Millennium Falcon, First Order Tie Fighter, and Rey's Speeder.

Nothing else.

They disappeared off the shelves in seconds, but I managed to snag a Millennium Falcon and Tie Fighter. Really wanted Poe's X-Wing but it's nowhere to be found.

Really disappointing and weird.

Australian stock all around seems pretty dismal. Toys R Us in QLD didn't have any sets either. Hoping we see Poe's X-Wing really soon. Toys R Us staff member indicated more stock would be rolled out over the coming weeks. Who thought that was a good idea?

I really don't get what the rush is recently what with people almost panicking when they can't find a certain set in a store they went to... I mean i get that some people are impatient and cannot wait to have a set in their hands, but... in the grand scheme of things, don't worry! Lego WILL print more of ALL of these new sets, the worst that can happen is that you'll have to wait a couple weeks (can't imagine them taking months) and they WILL be back in stock, either in a physical store or on amazon.

Remember the general rule: Most regular sets stay in print between 1-3 YEARS before they're gone for good.

I was starting to get worried myself about the Scooby Doo sets but if it plays out how it has numerous times before, i will easily be able to stroll into a Lego store or even a generic toy store come a year from now and pick up whichever set i desire of that line.

if i miss the Scooby Doo sets because of my reasoning, disregard EVERYTHING i just posted above, and i shall join you all in madness and panic mode

Blame it on Nintendo and the fact that some of the sets have been hard to find if you didn't get them right away (like the Tumbler). Other sets like the Zombies and the Research Institute disappeared pretty quickly too.

We live in a society that is based on instant gratification and insecurity. (Not that I'm not guilty of it)

Hopefully Lego doesn't get to the point where they take advantage of what they can do to sales by limiting the production.

Would rather delay and pair that with the Winter Village set if it will last, if not I can likely find something else to get me to $100+.

It really depends on how many they produce or retailers buy. I think it was 2 years ago they severely overproduced advent calendars and there were plentiful around xmas and even heavily discounted. That was the exception though. There are unforeseen events too such as production issues such as the LEGO Friends advent calendar (I think the first friends calendar). That was a very scarce set that year in the U.S. The following year, Star Wars advent calendars disappeared very quickly and supply was much less. Unfortunately I don't remember exactly when they were nearly sold out. I just remember you were screwed in November sometime.

Chances are in you favor though for mid-October. The big wildcard IMO is the Star Wars hype building up to the movie. It may drive demand for the Star War advent calendar really high.

It's manufactured demand, but there are certain instances that scare people to not take risks. The exclusive Raptor Escape set is the most recent example. I forget which LEGO Idea set it was, but I think it was the Mars Explorer. Zombie set in Monster Fighters is another one. One never knows which set will become the scarce one.
I do agree with you that Wall-E and Scooby Doo sets are unlikely to be sold out in the first several months.

Well even IF they're sold out, it's even more unlikely they will be OOP that soon so everyone that wants one WILL get one eventually (99% sure lol).

I know about the Zombies set and research institute but those really were the exception rather than the norm. I guess all i am trying to say is that i don't like this new "trend" of even having to worry about basic production lines like SW or Scooby Doo, entire waves of stuff that will likely stay in print for years.

Zombies was a retailer exclusive in the US was it not? And research institute was an Ideas set so these 2 were at least SOMEWHAT special compared to regular waves of a theme.

Zombies and Raptor Escape are examples of retailer exclusives that are or seem to be hard to find now. With the idea that Jurassic World in general might be cut short, we might not get another shot at the raptors.

Curiosity Rover and Research Institute both sold out very quickly and haven't returned. The Exo-Suit was hard to find for a while, got an extra run, lingered a bit and is now gone less than a year after its introduction.

While I doubt that we'll ever get real, lasting shortages of anything City, Friends or Star Wars, the lesser series are fair game, especially if they prove more popular than could be expected (JW and possibly Scooby Doo).

There's no worry at all that you won't get plenty of chances with the new TFA stuff which will be produced well into 2016 though.

Raptor Escape has the enclosure. Raptor Rampage has the truck. Both have different raptors and you obviously need both to get all four from the movie.

I haven't seen the movie yet but.... i checked up on the sets just now and yeah it seems like they have different colors. I only own Rampage though, not sure if i "need" the other colored raptors in the end

Loving how that new TIE is looking in the display there in the back. The new X-Wing looks nice, too. Hype just increased even more.
