Destiny |OT31| The Courted Oryx (Spoiler Tag ALL Raid Discussion)

Well that just happened, I went into a group on LFG for Oryx and got booted from them after we wiped for the first time for "ammo", people are just dicks man. :/

Legendary marks feel kind of useless except for infusion. The light level is too low from the vendor gear to interest me. I guess it's nice to have a resource that isn't too hard to obtain to use on year two exotics.

lmao

want me to post ten pages of posts complaining about bungie fucking up the grind by making them too hard to get

anyway don't forget rahool's legendary engrams, year 2 exotics from the kiosk (which is an unlock btw, subsequent copies don't cost marks), 280 ghosts for alts, vendor gear you can infuse up to be able to specialize (some of the weapons in particular are pretty great), and lest we forget and one day you might need them once more.... planetary materials

Does anyone have room in Oryx raid final battle? Would rather not waste a run to the reset.

Edit: nevermind, got into a group.

Is everyone sharding their old 170 gear already?

I got rid of sword breaker and the HoW shotgun for that gunsmith quest. The rest of my old raid hear along with Thorn, Mythoclast, Icebraker and Gjallarhorn I'm holding on to for now for sentimental reasons.

So there was some confusion on this yesterday when I asked. At 246 should I not decrypt legendary engrams or does it not matter?
I wouldn't say it doesn't matter.
I think the engram stats are decided on your level at time of dropping,
I just don't understand how this can be the case... can someone help me out here?

Doesn't the entire premise of what we've been using to level up efficiently hinge on the knowledge that engrams' attack/defense value are decided at the time of decryption, and NOT when they drop? Is it just legendaries that are decided on drop and not blues, and how do you know?

Giriath either way though... a legendary is likely to be an upgrade especially if you don't already have one in that slot, and then you can infuse it up if you like it. So not that helpful to hold onto them either way.

acter completing the playlist Quest for Crucible, his next quest is to change alligience to other factions and complete match type wins for them. i feel dirty

Got a Year 2 TLW from an exotic engram. The first exotic primary engram for me to drop so far. I hope this weapon returns to greatness soon! I might just use it to infuse my Vanity though :|

For anyone using 3OC in strikes, it's probably obvious but there's a couple of strikes with more than one ultra which can drop exotics. Pop another 3OC after killing the first Bond Brother, for example. And the Taken Gatekeeper that shows up sometimes in the new Valus strike is also an ultra who can drop exotics. The tanks don't count and don't use a 3OC. I'm not positive but I don't think the Psion flayers do either.

Nope.
When farming Draksis I was around 220 lights, because of icebreaker and such.
My first trip back to the tower I forgot to switch back to my 270 gear, and got everything decrypted being around 220s.
The second time I did not forget and got gear around 270s.
Both times the engrams were obtained at ~220.

Anyone at a up for the raid from the war priest? I just really want to get it done. The group I was with to this point disbanded and then got together after I got off and finished the raid. I'm willing to start from the very beginning if I have to.

Light level is 294 if that matters.

None of the Psion Flayers are tagged as Ultra's

Just curious, they got off, then all coincidentally decided to get right back on and finish?

Luckily in the future once my local friends hit about 290, maybe even next week, I'll have at least half a group to form a weekly static team and have a couple of other spots for straggling gaffers.

Well, if people are interested in raid from the first boss, hit me up. Until then I'll just farm moldering shards to get the extra drops (by farming hamium flakes then buying them from Eris).

Any raid group starting from first boss? I want to continue from there for at least get gear for the next reset

Bungie needs to fix their light level drop engrams from random mobs and focus on quest rewards instead, Blue engrams and Purple engrams are based on your current light level to help you leveling throught the game, in vanilla only blue engrams were affected by that mechanic but in TTK, Purple engrams take in consideration your current light level too. Which is really awkward because you can get better engrams in the wild and lame rewards for doing a 9 steps quest line.

I am quite surprised no one attempted to do a loot cave farm on venus or another populated area with mobs and just farm blue engrams which can contain 295 light gear for infusions.

Also Bungie messed up the Exotic gear too in this expansion, Exotic gear aside from random stats now contains random perks so you can get a shitty Praxic Fire 290 exotic with Strength or a int/dis stat with fusion rifle ammo perk

Not off and right back on, they're in Europe and I'm in the center of the US. We started in the morning for me/afternoon for them, a few had to get off for social things, then they got back on in their morning (about 3 a.m. my time) and finished it. I'm not salty, just want to raid.

I'm trying to set one up, I have the cp.
