$40 for a decade old game?

Yep, Activision gonna Activision.
If i could play them on my xbox one i would pay that price right now.

I have been wanting to play them for years but don't own a 360.

I actually don't even know if they even came out on pc let alone if they were ever on steam :)
Legends, Legends 2 and Ultimate Alliance 1 came out on PC.

Ultimate Alliance 2 never came out on PC, at least not in the US. I still have boxed copies of Legends and Legends 2 but never got UA. I wish they would do a remaster collection that had Legends, Legends 2, UA and UA 2. I would pay a stupid amount of money to have them all in 1 place.

Ps2 classics for ps4 seem to be happening. I could easily them doing it.
But isn't the PS2 classics thing strictly digital games and not physical? I didn't think Legends or Legends 2 ever came digitally (on ps3)

That depends on if Capcom is willing to pay the contract renewal fee. In this case, Marvel revoked the contract from Activision but have since worked things out.

I think Capcom may get around to getting UMvC3 back up in due time.

Marvel specifically said no to (U)MvC3 on PC in fear of modders messing with the Marvel characters.

At least a PC version would have meant modders could have balanced the game since Capcom was never going to do it... Marvel needs to stop being so strict.

I'm a huge ass mark, because I would probably buy MUA1/2 on Steam for $40 if they ever released. I still have the discs for both though.

Also, I'd easily take UMvC3 on PS4 and/or XBO is that ever came to pass.

Since I own MUA1 and 2 on 360 and they're old as fuck I hope this isn't considered port begging to say that I would pay full $59.99 USD retail price for MUA2 on Steam with improved graphics and online co-op.

Maybe they've loosened up since then, as shown by their willingness for their characters to be on PC games (Disney Infinity, for example).

It'd probably take Sony's financial aid for a UMvC3 remaster to happen. MvC4 would likely depend on the success of Street Fighter V.

So what kind of crazy shit did Marvel Heroes (Gazillion) pull to secure the rights to all the Marvel characters that they have on PC?

Was MUA2 ever ported to PC?

I remember the (vaguely janky) port of the original MUA

MUA with mods was pretty fun. You could mod in all the characters from all the different versions, including the PSP. Even custom characters that were not intended to be in the game.

Worst version or not, I'd gladly buy X-Men Legends II for PSP to play on Vita. Slimmest of slim chances, though.

Oh man that makes two of us then (except for the worse part, my favorite of the series). I drool at the thought of a proper Legends or even ultimate alliance game for the Vita. It's a damn shame Raven is no longer working on these properties and those type of games anymore, especially with the Marvel license being so hot right now.

That would still cost money to renew the contract, money that would be better spent on MvC4.

Ideally, yes I would rather have MvC4. I'm just saying that if it ever did happen that UMvC3 was ported over to current gen with very little in the way of performance increase, I would absolutely buy it. That's all I'm saying.

Why would these characters not be in MvC4??
After the release of Contest of Champions (an Injustice-esque mobile game), Marvel has refused to let developers use any of the X-Men or Fantastic Four characters
not named Pietro or Wanda Maximoff
. Marvel even went as far as to modify Spider-Man's Bombastic Bag-Man costume in Spider-Man Unlimited to remove the Fantastic Four logo. Marvel Heroes dodged the bullet by coming out before the cut-off date. This shut out has also affected cartoons & merchandise. The comics are fine for the most part.

Whats reason have they given for not allowing developers using any x-men or fantastic four characters then.....is it to do with Fox owning the movie rights???

  1. FTFY
  2. Marvel doesn't want to provide Fox with any free advertising, seeing as the two companies are in the midst of a dick-fighting contest.

Well cant Marvel just pull the license from Fox if their being dicks??

Too be fair im not sure how x-men would fit into the current film marvel universe anyways.....seeing as the general public hate mutants yet in the marvel film universe the m words is never used and they love the avengers!!

Nope, Marvel can only get the movie rights back if Fox doesn't make a movie for 7 years straight. Either that or Marvel buys the rights, but I don't think Fox will be willing to sell the rights anytime soon.

7 Years!!!!, Damn!, have they even anouced plasn for a new x-men movie......and cant see them even bothering with FF after the awful film this summer!!. Well least they managed to wrestle Spiderman from Sony i guess

And like I said earlier, even if Capcom could afford to renew the Marvel license, that money would be better spent on MvC4.

OK. I've had to tell you this in different threads, and I really, REALLY want you to take this to heart. You have got to stop doing this. When you have info at the ready that others may not be aware of, it's helpful and informative the first time you clarify. Maybe even the second. Yes, many aren't aware of how the deals work with Marvel right now, and when somebody says "I hope Marvel Vs. Capcom shows back up/gets ported," it can be helpful for someone like you to step in and bring people up to speed with where we are at. However, it quickly goes from a situation where I'm grateful that a knowledgeable poster like you is out there waiting in the wings with this information to one where I'm increasingly annoyed at obnoxious posting when it seems like you're just F5ing the thread over and over again to "correct" everyone with the same response that you've posted several times already.

Not everyone cares about the likelihood of the deal happening. They just want to express interest in a different Marvel game coming back. Whatever happens will happen.
