Man, my memory's gone bad. I remember him jumping through the window, but didn't remember him running.Jason did run in The Final Chapter, mainly towards the end. Some pretty intense chase sequences. Ted White's Jason was brutal and aggressive. My all-time favorite. Jason didn't resort to walking until he became zombified in Part VI Jason Lives.
Yeah unless I'm not seeing it, I don't see where the hollywood guys or the license are budgeted into the game... unless they are in at the top level and get % of the profits.
Okay that's nice and all, but how would this help us accomplish our goals in the game? I must know before I commit!
I don't think you understand what I'm asking. It's not that I'm against any of that content at all, far from it, I want to know how it's being implemented into the game design and what it means for the players.
You are also acting out a movie so it just adds more to the atmosphere and styling

Description does say they are getting the license for free.
They already pretty much had a working game, they're just polishing it and licensing it now as far as I understand.
They do note that the financial investment they put into Summer Camp didn't go to waste. That was also going to be a multiplayer slasher. So they're likely able to just bring that gameplay over into this. Everything else from the environments to the characters would have to be reworked to fit the Friday the 13th setting.
This could be cool, it sounds exactly like this though.
I guess team imbalanced MP games are getting popular.
Luring an AI out works. Luring a player out doesn't because they're a player and don't have to come to your position.Lure the slasher out? as the movies seem to penalize "Sin" with the slasher. Example in various movies.

For the stat buffs obviouslyCan you have sex with other players? Why?
"already pretty much had a working game": No programmer required?
"likely able to just bring that gameplay over into this": No programmer required?
I'm not trying to be a turd here, but the idea that the game has a year left of work on it but won't require the services of a programmer because the code is done and sitting in the can--even if the game was done and sitting in the can, the reskin process would require a programmer. I'm not saying it's not possible that the game will release, I'm saying dishonesty (or an omission of this magnitude) in a budget statement is a massive red flag to me--and given past KS delivery issues, I think people should be aware of red flags rather than pledging 2 minutes after they see the listing because they like the concept.

No no no, that's the other asymmetrical multiplayer game where you play as a slaher villain on Kickstarter called The Last year.
That's another huge game design problem right there.
Players will aim to win, not to act like they're in a movie. And the two stand directly opposed.
How will the game work around this?
One thing I didn't like about the reboot is that Jason showed emotion. He got angry.
Jason to me is just a relentless killing machine. A supernatural Terminator. A force of nature.
That's what I want to see. In the game he can (teleport) just appear near you (behind that tree!) and he starts walking forward.
Okay so Illfonic appears to be the developer who made the FPS module for Star Citizen and then got jettisoned off as they took the updates internal, and it looks like the other developer is "gun." of Breach & Clear fame.
I'm not entirely clear on who is doing what, but this seems to be a bizarre mishmash on top of the budgeting setup and missing information.
Instead of guessing, wouldn't it be nice if a pitch for people to give money to develop a game actually told us the gameplay mechanics though? Especially if it claims to already be in a playable state.
This thread makes me more and more weirded out by the minute.
Way too much smoke for no fire. Something strange going on.

20% on rewards versus 7% on design development? Huh?

Half-Life 3
I was interested till I read that it's MP only. Ugh.
Frog Fractions 2.

You didn't read far then.
Christ, single player needs to be added to the topic title.
I hope they get Kane Hodder to motion capture Jason.

That's a stretch goal, no?
I never understood this opinion. The guy was willing to be lit on fire for the role. Even if you're not fond of the rest of his performance, that's gotta count for something.Yeah he was a great Jason. Him Kane, and the guy they got for the remake are my favorites. The worst is Freddy vs Jason Jason, so dull.
They are.

Waiting for the fake esports commentating video before I make a decision.
Gonna wait for a few weeks to see if they bring out some gameplay.
