How is this silly?

You go to a Pizza shop, you choose a 12' 8 slice Pizza, the guy, prepares, cooks and slices the Pizza, and takes away 1 slice and says "for the 8th slice, you have to pay an extra £2".

Is that acceptable? No, so why would it be in games?

It's a stupid and anti consumer move that destroys any form of brand respect. Don't even get me started on FOB insurance as well as offline tax.

It's not like these costumes were advertised as being available in the game, and then they took them out and are now charging you to use them. So what if people found that the code or whatever for them was there. Unless I'm mistaken these were not advertised as being part of the initial purchase.

Okay i will bite

Explain this to me because i am not fully understanding what you said.
It doesn't matter if you own it or not. When you buy a disc, you are basically renting the licence to play whatever is on that disc, you shouldn't be charged extra for something your already licensing.

It's probably a typo; you're not owed everything on the disc. You access the content on the disc on the publisher's terms; it really doesn't matter how they've chosen to monetise it.

Though again, this doesn't quite apply since the assets for these costumes weren't included in the original game.

Unless I'm mistaken these were not advertised as being part of the initial purchase.

Some of them were shown in the launch trailer, but that's about it. People shouldn't have inferred that they'd be part of the base game, but without clarification they jumped to conclusions.

Wish the sneak suit version had matching accessories rather than the khaki color from the other outfit.

Meh, I might get them if I have extra credit built up, but they're not a priority.

Is there a list of what else is supposed to be dlc?

Of course SCEE fucked up again with dlc ._.

On PSN Store PS3 version has all the new costumes dlc meanwhile PS4 is missing EVA costume, Naked Snake costume and complete bundle pack.

The only two I really want fml.

It doesn't matter, not everything in a game is advertised, does every gun, item and costume have to be advertised in order for it to be unacceptable?

Anyway, it's just my opinion.

Edit: Some were advertised.

I'm sorry haven't played the game yet..

But wtf is up with those female clothes.. What is the reason for that design..? Can they even zip that up..? Who the fuck runs around in clothes like that..? And on a battlefield...?

I agree they are questionable, but it didn't seem to hinder The Boss or Eva having their thrupney bits hanging out.

Do they offer any abilities?
I like the MGS3 uniform, but I'll just stick to regular sneaking suit if Snake is gonna be stomping around like a baby elephant.
Such a joke in the game with regular uniforms. The legend! Master of stealth! The only man to get the title Bug Boss!...cannot sneak up on an enemy without them hearing him.

Again for the people that didn't know you can zip up the Boss white suit. Not sure about EVA's.

I'm in for almost everything besides the horse skins. Geez they suck. The camo is probably my favorite.

So the fact that you chose an 8 slice Pizza but were charged extra for the 8 slice that should have originally been there is acceptable? Why would you defend such a move?

Your attitude to Microtansactions that are already on the disc is that "they can do whatever they want" is sick.

Lmao, I want this to happen.

I had no interest in buying these. But I'm going to buy them for spite now, because of how ridiculous your pizza comparison is.

You can zip them both up. I was shocked, especially for EVA's - modelling a separate version almost nobody would use would seem to border on being a waste of resources, but it's still an admirable bit of attention to detail.

Those are from MGS3, it's a little late to complain about the designs.

I don't think anyone complaining about the costumes has actually played MGS3. Anyone even remotely familiar with The Boss would know she was showing yards of cleavage every second she was onscreen.

If you know that's the arrangement when you buy the pizza in the first place, then yes, it's acceptable. Did you purchase MGS V with the expectation that these costumes were part of the deal? If not, then whether the costumes were bundled in your original data, or downloaded on purchase, is ultimately an irrelevant implementation detail – they did not deceive you, or take anything away from you, in this specific case.

Would it have been nicer for Konami to simply include these for free, and is it a bit annoying to be nickel-and-dimed like this? Yes, of course. But that's different from feeling justified in moral outrage just because of what data is stored where and when.

Piss poor example. If they advertised it as an 8 slice pizza and didn't give you the full thing then they are false advertising. These costumes aren't featured or advertised to be part of the base product you pay $60 for. Their inclusion on the disc is irrelevant. Your paying $60 for a licence to access the base game. You aren't owed anything other then that unless advertised.

They can be zipped up.

The Boss (that white sneaking suit is her's) spends most of MGS3 not only with the suit zipped up but also with a poncho on top.

I didn't know that. Maybe it's a bit underhanded then, but like it or not, now that it's here, dlc is probably not ever going to go away. At least these are like impulse buy price levels. $4.99 for the lot isn't bad imo (lol stockholm syndrome etc.,)

Do these costumes affect gameplay?

By example the sneak one has stats ? Is so I imagine they must be better than the ones in the game.

Or are just for image purpose?

Pretty sure she only unzipped the outfit for the final fight with Big Boss.

I would assume they affect gameplay like other costumes, like the MGS3 sneaking suit has the same properties as the one in TPP or the Tuxedo doesn't offer any bonuses like the one you get for completing the last story mission.

Sounds like you'll get along swimmingly with Quiet.

Speaking of which, missed opportunity Konami!

They came out just in time for me to have finished the game and no longer have any interest in buying anything else.
^^^
This is true in almost every game I buy at release. By the time they make the first DLC cash grab, I've already uninstalled and moved on to something else.
