Going with the food analogy, MGSV has been one of the best pizzas I've eaten in a long time, but then the waiter started pissing and shitting all over the floor next to my table. It didn't really compromise the main cast for the sake of overt fanservice, though.

Damn I didn't even know about those. They seem like fun easter eggs though to me. It's not like Emma was running about bouncing around like a Senran Kagura character. I'm still waiting for an Emma Emmerich Quiet costume.

It doesn't matter if you own it or not. When you buy a disc, you are basically renting the licence to play whatever is on that disc, you shouldn't be charged extra for something your already licensing.

At least she put on a jacket when she went outside, and Meryl without her pants was limited to scenes where she was changing. The fanservice was there, but it didn't come at the cost of characterisation, as in later games.
