MGSV costumes DLC now available!

With Emma it was more of a reference to Otacon in MGS1.
Yeah even the Emmerich in MGS V pees his pants. Emmerich's have weak bladders I guess.
Literally the same dog twice.
True, but Friender isn't as cuddly as Rush is.
Actually, the 'do you remember what day it is' thing supposedly came from her repeatedly pressing the issue of when the actual wedding would be, after they got engaged.
Where do you guys get this information? It's quite interesting. Hoping Hideo's wife didn't look like MGS 4 Linebacker Meryl in her wedding dress.
Sniper Wolf? I don't think graphics are a good argument against fan service, since the intent is the same. But sure whatever.

I'm sure there was fan service in MGS2, but I can't think of any. If there wasn't, it's purely the outlier in the main series.
Sniper Wolf practically used her sexuality as a weapon so it really doesn't bother me with her. That and I remember her playfully flirting with Snake a bit so it's not exactly out of character for her to show some cleavage.

Such attention to detail.

I am still playing the game and have not yet discovered Quiet, can i buy this and cover her up even before meeting her in the game?

Other posts have said they're not for Quiet, only for your female soldiers. You can't get Quiet's fatigues until her bond level is very high and you've developed the proper uniform, both of which take some lengthy play time.

At least she put on a jacket when she went outside, and Meryl without her pants was limited to scenes where she was changing. The fanservice was there, but it didn't come at the cost of characterisation, as in later games.

Sure, that's an argument to be made. I'd even agree with it, but that's not what people are talking about in this thread. Fanservice has existed throughout the series in one form or another. One of the posts I quoted said, "Of course she's showing boobs" when these are both outfits from an old game, lol.

After it was revealed they could be zipped up, I didn't have much of a problem with these outfits in particular, but the way The Boss has been marketed is a separate issue. Despite only unzipping the suit for five minutes at the end of MGS3, later figures, promo art and renders have basically used it as her 'default look' - the initial reaction here being that they wouldn't include a zipped-up version shows how much of an effect the change in context has, despite the design technically being present in the original game. If they sell it as yet another piece of bikini armour DLC, people will react to it that way.

How is this silly?

You go to a Pizza shop, you choose a 12' 8 slice Pizza, the guy, prepares, cooks and slices the Pizza, and takes away 1 slice and says "for the 8th slice, you have to pay an extra £2".

Is that acceptable? No, so why would it be in games?

It's a stupid and anti consumer move that destroys any form of brand respect. Don't even get me started on FOB insurance as well as offline tax.

This is not the same at all. They didn't advertise these costumes or promise them as part of the paid package. They did not take anything away from you. I'm not saying I condone the practice, but your analogy is awful.

Not usable in MGO? Not interested then tbh, due to mostly being done with single player. Least it's only 79p in the UK compared to several £'s for costumers in other games, but even then being single player only why aren't they unlockable in the first place!? Oh yeah... that's a thing now.

It's a really weird misconception. I have no idea how these people got the idea that costumes which were prominently featured in the game's launch trailer before any DLC plans were announced would be in the base game.

I really wish. I'd buy most of these in a second if they were, but outside of S ranking some missions I've got basically everything in the SP done.

Sorry, you were saying?
It was a cinematic trailer, you also can't play as a bloody skull and muscle tissue man or Skullface. Where's the upset over that?

Nope. Costumes aren't for Quiet. They are for your Mother Base soldiers. You can play as them in any mission.

Hungry Hippo, extraordinaire.
God fucking damn it! I can't put actual fucking clothing on Quiet until I either unlock the Sniper Wolf or XOF outfit? Fuck! All of her other costumes suck. I'm not spending gmp on either the bloody or blinged out versions of her default costume.

Are those available as paid DLC?

Super duper MGSV ending spoilers

Finally, I get to play as Big Boss.

MGSV Ending Spoiler

Aren't you already playing Big Boss.

Costumes are okay. At least this isn't "fake insurance". Also it's EVA and The Boss. Why are people complaining about a costume that let's Quiet dress up as EVA and The Boss?

It's not for Quiet, it's for female Combat Unit members for when you play as them.

I don't see that radio on the right shoulder of the DLC suit. Huh.

It is there, just really damn tiny compared to TPP's Sneaking Suit.

Also end spoilers:
It's a shame we won't be able to recreate the hallway walk scene from the trailer since it locks you down to olive drabs I think.

No but apparently you think that trailer was a showcase of costumes in the game, so why aren't you upset you can't unlock the flayed-corpse outfit like that trailer showed?

You're making some interesting assumptions there, and your logic is utterly flawed. No, I don't think the trailer is a showcase of costumes. However, the fact that a DLC outfit appeared in it, before the game's release, shows that it was already made ahead of time, and it's being arbitarily locked behind a DLC paywall. If the corpse was DLC, I'd say something about that too. But it's not. So do try and update your argument.

Sub Zero

his body's cold as ice, but he's got a heart of gold
Can't find the NS fatigues or the EVA costume in the European store, also there is no option to buy the bundle

2 questions guys.
1) I bought the pack on Steam but I don't see the sneak suit in my dev page. Am I missing something?

2) I only see the tux and the 2 horse armor for PS4 in EU PS store, aren't they all up?

Was hoping for one to completly cover quiet, then I could get the game without feeling awkward and weird.

I feel awkward with your post, but to give you a helping hand, there are 2 additional costumes for Quiet in game and one of them covers her from head to toe if you find the human body so repulsive.
