Sony Knows

PS1 and PS2 classics is good, but no mention of real backwards compatibility.

Guess that means they're not even thinking about doing it. :,(

Wow they do address EVERYTHING in this survey!

I'm still shocked "Notifications for friends going online" is still a thing, I'm shocked that they are even putting such a basic thing in a survey instead of implementing it like now, obviously there is a fuck up with the design of the OS if they are having troubles with such a basic thing.

Considering they have notifications when people go into party chat and the like I doubt its a hurdle to implement whether you are notified when people come online - it seems more that Sony (wrongly) didn't prioritise it.

It's safe to assume that if the system supports classics, then it supports discs. The question is whether or not Sony will opt to lock out disc support. Either way I wouldn't expect the difference to be addressed in a simple survey format.

Now I have a bunch of themes, it would be cool to be able to select a playlist of the ones you like and have them rotate out daily or something. Obviously not as important as some of these other features though.

You had better checked EVERYTHING there, OP.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
I hope change PSN ID doesn't become the number 1 requested feature. For most people it will be a 1 time use thing. I'd rather they prioritised stuff that is of actual real use to everyone first.
It will, and that'll be you biggest update for the whole of 2016/17

Folders, Custom BG, PS/PS2 BC, features that will actually change and improve the PS4 and the way you use it will never happen because someone choose a stupid name and wants to change it to another stupid name.

Expect it July 2016"

Filtering options >>>>>> Folders

Genres, full retail games, custom tags, etc. Automatic tagging would be nice but there must be an option to assign custom tags manually.

That and PS1 & PS2 Classics. I don't give a damn about everything else.

They should have allowed us to pick priorities for each feature. Clearly they are aware that all of those options are desired features in some capacity, so if anyone checks all boxes then they will have learned nothing from the survey.

I got the same survey, and it is only a VERY small part of the overall list of questions.

Things like "what influenced your decision to buy ps4" -- it's in no way solely indicative of "hey this is just about future updates"

Give me folders and USB media support.

I thought Sony didn't listen to their customers because of complacement.

where's "Be more like Microsoft #4ThePlayers"?

I hope you guys get that hot reference

I LOLed. Now, online notifications needs to happen. How the hell we don't have that is insane. Custom backgrounds, PS2 Classics would be fantastic.

Not necessarily. PS3 supports PS2 Classics but disc versions of those games don't work (unless you have a launch model of course)

CHANGE PSN ID YES PLS.

Who the heck would check 'None of these'? And that's a pretty ominous thread title, OP. Was wondering what the heck Sony has on me haha.

EVERYTHING

CHECK EVERYTHING

...also, I wonder what the wording implies in that second picture. I would have bet against another big firmware update so close after the last one. Maybe they're just gauging interest in their consumer base.

I think it would be reasonable to expect another major update with at least some of these features within the first 3-4 months of next year.

I do not own a PS4, so I wasn't aware those features are missing. I just figured since the XB1 had most of them the PS4 did as well. Anyway, I would check all of them.

PSX.

The end of the show is near.

Sony have just revealed Crash Bandicoot PS4, Agent, and Eight Days, as well as reforming Studio Liverpool to work on Wipeour for PS4/VR. They've announced they've bought Nintendo and the rights to Halo.

Then, one more thing....

"Some of you may have done a survey recently asking what features you would like to see on PS4 as a firmware update. We're happy to announce we're bringing them all to you.... and the firmware update is live now."

FIREWORKS.

PSN CRUMBLES AS EVERYONE TRIED TO DOWNLOAD FW 5.00 (Sony skipped numbers because fuck you) but it's untested and PS4s are blowing up around the world, but no one cares!

PSX.

I'd be really happy with just PS1 and PS2 BC on PS4. I'd be able to stop worrying about my 60GB PS3 with hardware PS2 BC dying. And if PS1/PS2 games would work with Remote Play, that would even be a bigger plus.

All of the above.

EVERYTHING!

Where is the option for all of the above.

All of the above plus game gifting.

Tick all the boxes!

But personally the top three for me are
PS1 game support
PS2 game support
Folders.

Why wouldn't you check all boxes?

Just from the first page.
Checking all the boxes is a waste of a vote.

Blame the cell processor.

Sorry, perhaps I wasn't very clear.

I appreciate PS3 b/c will never happen, but while they are talking about PS1/PS2 Classics (downloads) there's no mention of emulating disc based games which would be a pity.

It continues to amaze me that people want notifications when friends come online.
Do you have like 5 people on your friends list, or just enjoy having frequent notifications covering the screen?

Yeah I actually don't want this. At least I don't unless I can sign in as being offline.

Checking all is nonsensical. They are trying to gauge what is more important to focus on.

Yeah, you are basically throwing away your vote if you check everything. They are trying to figure what we PSN users want the most. Checking all or checking none are almost the exact same thing.

Seeing something as pathetically minor on the list as "Download avatars on PS4" just makes me wonder what on earth the OS dev team at Sony are actually doing. It's 2015, downloading and displaying a tiny image file is not rocket science.

If you could change your PSN ID (not like it is now but like XBL). Would that mean people who already have had their IDs changed, could get their achievements back?

No,

for this they must allow to combine 2 different PSN accounts and I highly doubt this will ever come.

The next step of reference.

Glad to see that they know what people want, but with a survey now it will be hard to have any of this before 2016. :(
