Destiny had a nice message upon logging in today.
October 26 - November 9
The Tower has been redecorated.
To start with there are several new quests added into the game. Each quest seems to revolve around obtaining a halloween mask of some of the most famous characters, and completing a goal somewhat associated with that mask.
Examples would be:
Of course, with Destiny's new microtransaction system, we have 3 new emotes to purchase.
A very elaborate portion of Michael Jackson's Thriller ($7USD), as well as smaller dance ($5USD), and a simple BOO! emote ($2USD).

No idea yet what the quests actually get you, but it appears everything is just cosmetic, and for fun.

- Loot 10 Engrams wearing a Cryptarch mask
- Jump off the Tower wearing an Atheon mask
- Complete a Heroic Strike wearing a Speaker mask

A: Head to Eva Levante in the tower to start the event.

A: 9th November, 2015
Q: Do I have to pay real money to participate in the event?
A: No. The only things that require Silver (Destiny's microtransactional currency) are the new emotes and "Treasures of the Lost" goody bags, both available at the Eververse Trading Co. kiosk.
Q: I really like emotes. How much do they cost?
A: Boo - 300 Silver | Monster Dance - 500 Silver | Zombie Dance - 700 Silver

Q: How do I get more masks?
A: You get one legendary mask for free per character (up to 3 per account!) After that, you can get further masks through purchasing the mystery bag packages from the Eververse Trading Co. (Tess Everis) or by filling up the candy satchels you get and turning them in to Eva Levante.
Q: How do I fill up the candy satchels?
A: Kill stuff with a mask equipped. Can be in PVP or PVE. Happy Hunting!
Q: Do I get to keep my masks after the event has finished?
A: Depends. If it's a legendary mask, yes. If it's a rare mask, no.
Q: How do I turn my rare mask into a legendary mask?
A: By using Paper Glue on the rare mask, it will upgrade it to legendary.
Q: What do Paper Scraps do?
A: You can buy a "Bag of Flimsy Masks" from Eva for 4 scraps.
Q: How do I get Paper Scraps/Paper Glue?
A: From dismantling your duplicate (or not) masks!
Q: What stats do the masks have?
A: None. 0 Intellect/Strength/Discipline. It's a mask... What did you expect?
Q: Is that... Cayde wearing an Eris mask?
A: Yes, yes it is.
Q: How do I "trip" off the edge of the tower as Atheon?
A: Have some friends throw solar grenades at your feet
