Kojima's new game will be published by Sony, is also coming to PC, not Silent Hill

Surely, that one single post derailed this thread more than the one hundred posts reacting to it.

Of course, being happy about a PC version and jokingly calling it the "definitive" version (because it will most likely be the best version of the game) definitively can't be ignored!

What you said was basically what I was thinking while reading those first couple of pages, just ignore it and move on. He didn't derail the thread, all the people reacting to it did.

That's not how i understand that terminology, but alas, i accept that.

You might want to complain to all the people that were so insecure that they needed to pile up on a single comment over and over again because they were so offended by it yet it isn't even a inflamatory comment to begin with. Some people here have serious issues.

ha, true enough.

This thread it's why everyone hates or ignores Gaf. We should scream like little teenager girls aboit our lord and savior Kojima but we have 30 and more pages about ps4 vs pc.

"Let's trade one shitty discussion topic for an even more shitty topic." Hooray.

PC only gamers are a minority on this board, as there's no benefit to only owning PC and none of the current consoles.
hah. As usual these threads always devolve into the same thing. The same kind of crowd that praises this exclusivity and claims "Xbox is fucked!" comes with the defensive of "no one likes PC gaming anyways and be quiet about that version being better please!" when a PC version gets announced. Granted the extreme opinions like those of TB and other familiar PC focused posters are pretty bad as well.

Sony warriors party got crushed after PC confirmation and now resort to ad-hominem attacks against people happy with the announcement.

What makes me even more glad is that is not going to be some gimp PS VR game sort of announcement. Hopefully some cyber punk setting like the evolution of Snatcher.

Lol sure that's what is going on.

I really hope this game is as ambitious as mgs. Will be fascinating to see which direction this game will go into, but I'm guessing it'll be a shooter/rpg

People on both sides of this, when you see a questionable post come up just ignore it. It really isn't that difficult as this thread is just going in circles.

Kojima seems to like the Small Game before a Big release model. I wouldnt be shocked if they also release a PT / Ground Zeros for this game.

Nah, we need to make sure people feel bad for playing on the wrong platform.

/sarcasm

Seriously though, we should all be excited! One version might look better than the other but at least both PS4 and PC players get to enjoy what will surely be a memorable game :)

The game won't be linked to Metal Gear Solid or the cancelled Silent Hills, either, Sony says, instead being "something completely new".
We need new IP more than anything. This is good.

...still. A silent tear shed for what Silent Hills may have been. (;_;)

Maybe Sony wants to know what Kojima can make now before make a move. They bought Naughty Dog when they saw what they were making with the PS2. Maybe now they want to see the new kojima game and give the game to pc players also. Then buy kojipro and make it exclusive, some sort of bloodborne situation. Also, i wonder if this was the final announcement of PSX but was canned for legal reason.

Pretty excited about this whole thing, and that the game is coming to PC. I was personally very disappointed in MGS V, but Kojima still delivered a competent game under terrible working conditions, and he's delivered on multiple occasions before, so I have faith in him. I hope he doesn't take too long though.

Why are PS4 and PC people fighting over a game that doesn't even exist yet? Am I missing something?

Don't know why Playstation owners are so upset this is coming to PC - Sony don't even regard PC as competition. PC is above the console wars. It is it's own thing.

You know, im always draming and think, the name Silent Hill belong to Konami, but the PT demo was not a Silent Hill game. It was something new imo, so there is no indication it cannot be a game like we saw call as PT, and name it what they like. Im now just wondering if the PT demo and what was showned in it belong to Konami. It can also be reproduced in a different way, ans focus on the same first person engine.

I don't think Kojima wants to be bought. After years of working under Konami I'm sure he values his freedom and would like to avoid being tied into a single franchise or anything like that. Being indepedent gives him the chance to work on whatever he wants, solicit offers from other publishers, or even work with no publisher if he so desires.

The deal gives him a few things. It lets him retain independence and control over IP without any long term commitments. It gives them early startup funding as they build a studio and hire staff (one of the reasons why this announcement was made ASAP). And it gives him access to his biggest audience in Playstation while also branching out and building on the audience they began building with MGSV on Steam.

The arguments now seem to be one side going "PC fans started it," with the other side going "no PS4 fans started it."

It's amazing that they give help and also let Kojipro be free and indipendent. I hope that's enough for him to create the games he wants.

It's not PC fans and PS4 fans that are fighting, it's assholes and dumbasses that are arguing.

But shouldn't everyone be happy?

Sony is helping to fund the game on PS4, PC is helping to provide infinite forwards compatibility and preservation.

Both have huge, established fan bases.

And mods apparently on lunch break, lol

Essentially every PC thread on GAF gets derailed at this point. I'm not sure it's something moderation can fix, but requires a cultural change.

Batman Arkham Knight, the definitive PC edition

Wish it wasn't coming to PC simply due to attitudes like this

It's one thing to be happy it's coming to PC, then there is this

Yes the definitive version; like Batman Arkham Knight for exemple ! :)

These posts reek of desperation. They find one bad port and cling to it in every thread like it means something. You're right guys every once and awhile a dev fucks up, I'm sure Kojima's studio will too just like with MGSV!

I don't think they care all that much given that it's coming to the PS4 first and it sounds like Sony is trying to foster a strong relationship with the team. There are plenty of PS4-only titles on the Horizon that more than justify the purchase of a "proprietary black box."

It's always nice to have a PC version so I can play it with more "bells and whistles," but I'm not particularly bothered by full console exclusives, either. I understand that these corporations they need to incentivize the purchase of their console(s). PC is great at archiving and preserving games for the future, but with the recent trend of remastering old titles, I'm not too bothered in that respect (though of course, having a PC version is always ideal).

Precisely my point. There is absolutely no reason here for anyone to be getting upset and anyone else. Yet, here we are.

A magnificent point that is not brought up nearly enough.

PC preserves the history of this industry.

I don't even own a PS4 (yet) and don't play on PC (but hopefully one day) and I'm thrilled for Kojima and his team. I saw some arguing and stuff last night and thought it should all stop by the morning and people will be celebrating for these good people and yet people are still finding ways to be upset at this.

Isn't this an old pic?
Right, here 's the new one:

You are being fooled.
Konami has a secret system, a game that pulls out your money, on every game, on every platform.
I know, because I built it.
I designed the game to give players joy and wank material.
Entertaining mechanics appealing to ordinary people, people like you.
Mechanics Konami considered "irrelevant."
They wouldn't act, so I decided I would.
But I needed a partner, someone with the skills to publish.
Threatened by Konami lawyers, we work in secret.
You'll never find us, but gamer or just steam guy who buys a lot without actually playing,
if you keep believing... we'll find *you*.
