Hope he reins himself in a bit at least. I'd rather have a tight, linear Kojima experience in 3 years than a massive, open world thing in 6 years.
I bet the game is still open world or seamless. I bet there'll be guns. I bet there'll be military porn. I bet it'll be multiplayer. I bet there's a robot. A game can be all of that and still a "smaller" game.
Naughty Dog's independent. Their engine is very much their own.
The Killzone engine was used by Supermassive, an independent studio making a Sony exclusive, but I don't see why that would be worth using over an engine with far more support available, like UE4.
Why a Konami exec can't just give Kojima and his team a license to use the engine they created is maddening.
Really? Not trying to be obtuse, here. Then what does he mean by smaller? Was MGSV really THAT big?I bet the game is still open world or seamless. I bet there'll be guns. I was hoping for some survival horror using stealth elements with limited ammo.
Yeah, you're right, I just checked.
I didn't notice when that stopped being the case. Regardless, they're far from being a Sony Santa Monica.

Yeah sounds like AAA.
Kojima reiterated once more that hes still interested in working with his Silent Hills partner Guillermo del Toro, whether its a game, film, anime, or something else entirely.
The man was jelly of GTA and AssCreed for years, because of the freedom and expansive environments. No way he's going back to linear. A big world doesn't necessarily mean needing a huge team either. Check TW3.
They have been a Sony studio for well over 10 years.
It's possible, but he was really close to Kojima. Basically second in command of the series. It's hard to imagine that he'd stay behind instead of moving on with Kojima and the rest of the group. Especially with how the studio was treated toward the end.
You're treading on some mighty thin ice, there.
Yeah, I just had this idea they were in an Insomniac Games like position of choosing to work with Sony, rather than being wholly owned.
Welp, more useless gaming trivia to add to the pile I'm already aware of.

Just kickstart/crowdfund it so we can get this fucker made. Keep Norman Reedus in the loop, too.Kojima reiterated once more that he’s still interested in working with his Silent Hills partner Guillermo del Toro, whether it’s a game, film, anime, or something else entirely.
Ha! Subtle. You're treading on some mighty thin ice, there.
"I feel like this is an environment where I will be able to make something and be comfortable. And I believe that is the environment I need right now."
WTF could you imagine an Anime co-directed by Kojima and Del Toro???
BibleThump x 10
