He's already more over and he's not even here. Might as well capitalise on it and put him in a programme with someone else as a distraction. Hell, send him to NXT if he's pissed off about it. It's a net gain.

Bryan being active and not in the main event will cause fans to start booing Roman again though, just like what happened to Batista and Roman last year. Vince doesn't want his pet project Roman Reigns getting booed at WrestleMania again.

Assuming I'll shit in my hat, but

Why do you people have any hope for Bryan?

If Bryan wasn't Bryan and got cleared he could theoretically be in the main event, but he wouldn't because he ruined the last two. Shit, Bryan being cleared by some non-Joseph Maroon guy means he still has a chance of ruining the Rumble without actually being there.

Because I honestly don't think he's even remotely as beat up as WWE is trying to make it seem.

He had a LONG life before WWE, a pretty rough one wrestlingwise. He's no Necro Butcher, but he's got some serious miles.

Spot on regarding the promo bit. He is really good imo. With that said, his spots bore me to tears and at this point, I really want to like him. He just needs to build on his "storytelling" skills in the ring.

I don't think it's a question of if he'll be heavyweight champion. I just hope he's ready when the bosses come knocking on his door.

He's one of, what, 2 guys on the roster who can plausibly main event so yeah, he's going to at some point get the title. I wasn't always a fan of the champ being contractually obligated to only show up at like 20% of the events in the year, but it did let stuff other than "the championship is on the line" headline PPVs

I'm terrible at this but:

Royal Rumble |OT| Throw Him Over = Get Him Over
Royal Rumble |OT| It's Carey's Year
Royal Rumble |OT| I Hate To Reign On Your Parade...
Royal Rumble |OT| Brockman vs Superman
Royal Rumble |OT| Champ In, Chump Out

I just watched a Justin Credible match. That guy had the worst look ever. Those jorts. That cranium. Those teeth.

Which is why he was such a great heel. He looked liked the perfect everyday asshole that you would encounter. He's probably one of my favorite heels of all time. Somebody that you truly hated.

WWE is here to make money, not to hold down someone because...wait there's no good reason to hold Bryan down.

Anything suggesting WWE is just doing this as a fuck-you to the fans is misled. It's just sports entertainment. You don't have to bring your own story to it.

I doubt its a fuck-you to the fans but I think there would be a legitimate reason not to throw him into the Royal Rumble - because he has no storyline reason to be there other than generically wanting to be the champion and it actively distracts from Roman Reigns' storyline, which is, for better or worse, the main storyline.

I can't see anything where it doesn't foul up what they have planned. And yes, I know, smark cunts will go ahead and do the "LOL PLANNING?! WWE?!" we know.

This is something a lot of people forget about when people in NXT are "ready" - they may be ready but they need to fit somewhere and have a direction in order to be successful.

Because I honestly don't think he's even remotely as beat up as WWE is trying to make it seem.

His autobiography lays out just how many injuries he's suffered over the years. Some of the serious ones, like the detached retina, may not be recurring, but beside the concussion history, he has shoulder and neck issues that also tie into nerve issues.

I know he thinks that he's a terrible trainer because he's shy and doesn't know how to motivate people, but I would prefer that he work to help young wrestlers improve and grow.

That, or get paired with Brock and go out in a blaze of glory.

Listening to my first Lapsed Fan podcast since so many recommend, and I'm curious is there a backstory between calling Hogan, John Cena/Cenamania?

Like I get the clear and observe comparison, but just wondering if there's an origin or just a running joke

Don't put Bryan in the Rumble unless you actually want him to win the Rumble because once you put him in the whole crowd will boo whoever is not-Bryan.

Well, I think he generally puts on good matches even if I'm kind of over his bouncing back off the ropes and spinning on the apron. He was in some really good ones last year, the fatal four way at Payback, his feud with Rollins, his match with Owens.

Plus, his theme is great.

Interesting. I'll keep that in mind and try to appreciate the heelness between cringes.

Follow the Buzzers is definitely the way to go for the RR OT.

It's like you forget that WWE is ran by Vince McMahon, a man who will say fuck making money in order to get his way.

I still stand by my Royal Rumble 2016 |OT| Follow The Buzzers idea.

I actually like this one a lot.

Brock's like 3 times bigger than Bryan, how are people expecting that to be compelling? Is Bryan gonna get to use a weapon?

Even bigger signing news with a potential debut this weekend:

Austin Aries
was seen this week in Pittsburgh with the belief being that he was there to undergo WWE's medical screening process. So, he and WWE are obviously in the midst of working out a deal, something that went under the radar with all the attention the Bullet Club and others have been receiving.

Bryan vs Brock would basically be the Hogan/Andre of a new generation
and would be a way better match than Hogan/Andre

Sure if Hogan was a 5'10" vegan instead of a 6'7" Steroid Freak

But after Roman got boo'd out of the Rumble, they backed off him. He lost at Mania, he didn't win Money in the Bank, he was feuding with Wyatt. He only won the title after the rest of the roster was out hurt.

I watched some of the Bryan mania 30 build a while ago and Triple H was really fucking good in the post rumble to mania build.

I hope he brings that A game for the Roman feud.

You can find the template from any David vs. Goliath match.

If those don't work, just find a Minowaman fight, and you can structure a Lesnar/Bryan match in a similar way.

I honestly think Bryan/HHH would have been one of the GOAT feuds had Steph not also been a part of it. She brought that whole feud down, big time.

It was great, Triple H played his part perfect and Stephanie was a fantastic foil as well, and was freed up to do more ridiculous things while Triple H stayed more grounded. Great feud and helped get Bryan from "very hot" to "incendiary" at the time. And hey, Vince McMahon OKed it all. What a terrible guy, right?

I think in a few spots she brought something to the table but yeah. She was there a bit much week after week.

That time her and a shirtless Triple H made out over a KO'd Daniel Bryan was great though. GREAT.

This wasn't nearly as offensive as Kane and Big Show unceremoniously dumping Ambrose and Ziggler out of the ring.

Or Bryan being unceremoniously eliminated in the first third of the match. The entire 2015 Royal Rumble was basically a fuck you to people who wanted to cheer for younger stars.

Yeah, that was her best moment in that feud. After that, though, she basically repeated the same promo every week up until Mania.
