Kuga, Isshiki and the big dude from the Elite 10 get fired which totally makes sense because the Elite 10 have UNLIMITED POWER except oh wait Azami can fucking fire them at will checks out (although some people think its more that they simply resign from the E10 as opposed to getting fired which would make more sense I guess).

That actually bothered me for the longest time. The whole geography actually, like why aren't people going the opposite direction to reach Raftel.The planet in One Piece is a sphere as far as i can tell.
The conversation between Roger and Whitebeard seemed to imply that getting to Raftel wasn't as simple as just sailing your ship there, but yeah, there's still a lot of things that have yet to be properly explained.
Don't you need to follow the island magnetism to get there? I mean you could probably skip to one of the New World islands with a Vivre card or something.
I guess it just being too dangerous could be a reason why going a different route is impossible.

I am so conflicted about my thoughts on this ending. On one hand it is pretty satisfying to see a happy ending and on the other I just feel so empty and I feel like there could be more left to say after the graduation.
This was such a fun ride tho I loved following AKB49 and the last few chapters leading up to the reveal were done so well.
But, it's over I will miss this.

The first translation I read suggested Azami was mad at Joichiro for turning his back on the culinary world, but apparently he's mad at Totsuki for expelling Joichiro and that Azami's scheme is basically a revenge plot against the school for taking senpai away from him. This is DTL as fuck.

Rankings are literally meaningless for series with more than 50 chapters. The last volume released sold about 400K copies - its not getting cancelled, retooled nor is any kind of editorial meddling incoming.

My experience with Japanese media is that you see quite a bit of Christianity references that don't go anywhere because its often just referenced solely as an exotic religion with some very generally understood tropes (crosses, priests, nuns, although they frequently act like shrine maidens instead of real nuns). It's usually not terribly deep because I don't think the populace in Japan has anywhere near the level of familiarity with Christian theology that English speakers do, even among the non-religious.
To make it short, I don't consider it likely at all that there's any kind of subtle symbolism going on here.
