Weren't those pretty much just tech demos though? BTW my comment wasn't a dig at Nomura. He couldn't get the project moving. For whatever reason. Mostly I would assume due to SE's mismanagement. FF14 took priority and they wanted 2 more sequels for FF13.

They had to put so a lot of resources to help fix FFXIV. There was an interview with Nomura saying how people from his team kept getting pulled off to help with FFXIV. It was a lot to do with mismanagement.
Also I believe they were having problems with Crystal Tools IIRC

Hahah! I'm over it, I'm over it... But man. seeing those old Versus trailers triggers something in my heart... Noctis looked so freaking angry in cutscenes back then. There was a scene of him sitting on the throne and when he got off the throne... he looked like he was ready to kill somebody!!!
I'm certain that angry Noctis is still in XV. Remember, a lot of things can happen in the story. Someone in the party will definitely die.
And Ignis will betray them.

i dont think thats a good idea. It would be crushed by the mega-sellers. September is a good spot for it, especially if Destiny 2 isnt taking that spot.

Well I have some reasons as to why (albeit very very tinfoily) but I think there will be some betrayment by him.
I think a lot of people are going to die :lol I used to have a theory that the whole party would die and that original Versus trailer was pretty much the end of the game where Noctis is by himself. (tin foil)

So to add I guess my bits is from a Versus trailer you see Noctis and him talking and then Noctis walks away seemingly upset (I forget exactly which trailer) and then in the artwork at the end of Episode Duscae with the party in the center of it and you can tell which one is Noctis and then there is a blonde one (Prompto) and then one consoling the other and I take that as Gladio consoling ignis. Sort of like a Judas situation.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Isn't this back when Nomura was sitll sort of in charge??? I thought stuff like that gif and the party scene where chaos begins are all gone?
Still, I understand omitting some party members, but in a story like FFXV to me it makes more sense to have either Noctis only playable, or 4 playable characters. It probably was too much to handle memory wise or just didn't function in a gameplay system.
I understand setting up a party of 7, but with 4 it just looks weird.
PS3 memory limitations? Even in Kingdom Hearts, the "guest party member" would replace Donald or Goofy, if I remember correctly.
Now that the game was moved to the current gen systems, they allowed for all the party members to be there in the field.

The part I am talking about isn't from the party scene. I will see which trailer it was and timestamp it. I think it is actually in one of the trailers you linked earlier.
Here it is. I mean this is obviously old and stuff but what makes me think the betrayal moreso is the artwork at this point.
There are only four party members. I don't expect anyone to die. Now it's possible they could replace one member with a different character (either Cor or someone else, maybe even a hidden character)...but I'm not expecting that. This roadtrip will end with the four bros going back home.
I can't see Ignis betraying the team either; I don't remember the last time a tactician type party member betrayed the team in a JRPG.
Even then always having one character in the sidelines would be really stupid.

What I hope more than anything for the event is the confirmation that they corrected the English dub of the game based on the feedback from the demo. More precisely, I want Ignis to not sound like a butler.
He doesn't sound like a butler, he sounds (and looks) like the typical proper/sophisticated/collected (formal) smartsy character in anime.

I really don't think this is going to be a happy ending game, or at least total happy ending. People will die and with it being dubbed a tragedy from the beginning it doesn't seem to have changed in that regard. Also Tabata isn't the biggest on happy endings as seen in Type-0 and Crisis Core.

In the recent gameplay video, in subtitles, Ignis calls Noctis 'Noct' for the first time. We've never heard that before.
Hopefully a sign of things to come.

It has been a long time since I have read a translation for it so I don't remember what was said exactly. if someone could help that would be awesome. well we see them split up in the demo already. Noctis going off on his own after the Behemoth and then the buddy quests or whatever those were.

The artwork still gets me though. Why have Gladio consoling Ignis in that way? I guess we will have to wait to see now.
That's the thing, the subtitles correspond to the English localization. Not a direct Japanese translation.
