I posted this in the 'final trailer' thread but the discussion seems to have moved over here....,
If WB are going to 'change' their DC slate it's going to be stuff like Cyborg and Green Lantern Corps, projects that are scheduled for years from now and haven't even started hiring creatives yet. But even then that's a far fetched 'maybe' in a worst case scenario.
Remember that WB announced their DCU slate to Wall Street because they are going to make it the cornerstone of the studio's slate moving forward? This is a major part of their game plan going forward. Jeff Bewkes (head of Time Warner) talked about the film at the corporation's quarterly report Q&A literally just the other day.
For them to suddenly scrap more than half a dozen films based on the 'mixed' feedback on early BvS screenings (or whatever) is nonsense. I can't even conceive of a situation where this would happen. It would literally have to be an apocalyptic event for them to change direction at this point.
Drew McWeeny is one of the better film writers out there but I think it's worth noting that beyond various bits of industry gossip he's playing catch up like the rest of us with a lot of the news he writes about coming from the trades...., just like us.
But to give his 'news' a little more framing I have no idea what he means when he says that Wonder Woman "will be finished the way they are working on it and they'll release it". Really Drew, you think that they will release a super expensive film that's in the middle of filming? Great insight, man.
The way he talks about Justice League getting cancelled and Zack Snyder being shunted out of the door entirely can only mean that BvS is absolutely terrible and is going to bomb because given what I know about the studio and the way the brass loves Snyder it would have to be a John Carter sized bomb for that to happen.
For what it's worth, a few years ago Warners were nervous about one of their sequels before it was due to be released. At an internal studio screening many people thought that it was too close to Michael Mann's crime thriller Heat and it strayed away from the original film and the source material. I suppose you could say that the opinions were mixed.
That film was

In short, we'll see for ourselves soon enough.
