Its not thoigh, because it got very poor reviews and wprd of mouth was overwhelmingly negative.

I enjoyed the game to an extent when there was nothing to play except resogun. That being said it makes 0 sense to make a sequel.

It sold well so it does make sense to make a sequel. How are people not getting this.

It was... an ok game? Like, it was pretty bad for a lot of it but there were some cool moments. There's been so many better games that didn't get a sequel though, and Sony themselves are sitting on so many IPs that deserve a game more than this. I hope they aren't doing it because Knack sold ok, there was nothing to play on PS4 back then, I doubt a sequel would perform well now there's a huge offering of games.

So we're equating a purchase of the game to those people enjoying it? Because I'm pretty sure this thread shows that isn't the case.

Ha. That's funny. As if anybody but ourselves gives a flying fuck what GAF thinks about anything. This thread shows that there are a ton of people who never played Knack and jump on the hate bandwagon anyway. It's alright to dislike Knack. It is not normal, healthy, or anywhere near useful for anyone to loathe it the way many of you do.

GAF is not some repository of truth where the distilled wisdom of enthusiasts is compressed into a diamond that perfectly represents the state of the industry. It's actually filled with a ton of angry know-nothings who can't dance. At least not like Knack can in the closing credit sequence.

People actually liked this game? I couldn't even finish it. Halfway through I began running past all the enemies.

What dimension am I currently in now...

Never understood the bad rap Knack received. Game was gorgeous-looking and fun to play. Looking forward to plumbing the emotional depths of the Knack character as well as the possibility of different load-outs and skill-trees.

Hopefully Knack II is a codename for a Crash Bandicoot game.

...

Seriously though I only played a demo of Knack and I thought it was okay. The game didn't grip me in any way and I didn't like the character design, the gameplay seemed alright in the demo though. I've been waiting to get it eventually, when it's very cheap.

Best post of the thread, lol.

Killzone franchise is probably dead and buried yet made 2.1 million

I am pretty sure Killzone cost more to develop, for the genre it needs to recoup and compete in, than Knack does. It is not a simple "this many" equation.

And where do you have proof it is "dead and buried"? Tales from?

I'm curious now. For those of you who genuinely disliked the game, I have two questions: 1) What difficulty did you play on? 2) What was the one most problematic thing that made you dislike the game?

Maybe Sony have a better ideia of how good it was received.

And I have the opposite word of mouth situation... I bought it because most guys I talked said it was fun and enjoyable... and for me it was.

I want a sequel and Sony knows there are enough guys like me to make the game deserves a sequel.

Killzone will have a lot of sequels yet lol

There's always a chance for any game to learn from its mistakes, and if a pitch/concept is refined/improved enough, be the foundation for a follow-up that's leaps and bounds better than the first game.

Or it could be trash.

Will wait for proper footage of some sorts. =/

Dead and buried? Are you sure about that? They still have two teams at Guerrilla.
And btw. the Killzone franchise had 5 games. Maybe Knack-Mania will stop too..... after 5 games.

It "sold well" because it was mostly one of the few games that was there at launch, and was bundled with a lot of consoles. Despite it's utter mediocrity it managed to get away with it because it was one of the few exclusives standing there, and i'd wager rabid sony fanboyism at launch.

But the market is not the same now. We got Witcher 3, Bloodborne, MGS5. Hell Tearaway, in the same genre, surpasses Knack. It still sold poorly too. And we're getting other stuff like Gravity Rush 2 or the new Ratchet and Clank this year.
"Knack is bad" is not just a GAF meme. It was panned across every board and critic, it was the king of the bargain bin shortly after release.

I wouldn't mind something in the same GENRE as Knack, except without all the cinematic crap and more focus on gameplay. But it being "Knack 2" I just see as a fruitless endeavour. Sony being a big company with lot's of "sales" doesn't necessarily mean they know what they're doing.

After all, they made Knack 1

I can see the anger if it was one of the few games that they are making but we are getting games like GD2 and Dreams that probably won't make much money bit exist anyway.

The good old "two teams' theory. You think Guerilla is working on ANOTHER PS4 game alongside Horizon? Nope. Guerilla Cambridge / SCE Cambridge is another company and clearly focused on VR games.

To lose all joy and meaning in life by playing this?
I know what you mean. A lot of people felt this way after playing The Las of Us, or Bloodborne. After playing KNACK, all joy and the meaning of life.... it was gone.
But it will come back as soon as Knack 2 launches. Knack'a'Mania runnin' wild!

Main focus on Horizon and a small team on a second project? Yes, I think that. Makes sense when a lot of people at GG aren't working on Horizon.

Guerilla doing a new IP which will likely be more successful reception wise and commercially than Killzone SF and the rest of Guerilla making VR games

Guerrilla Amsterdam has 2 teams, and Steven der Heide/Eric Boltjes are not working on Horizon or RIGS.

Guerilla definitely has another project, even if it is probably only in pre-production. I'd say there's a good chance it'll still be Killzone.

RIGS does not look like something to occupy whole Cambridge studio.

Amsterdam also has 2 teams.

Ooweee, them truth bombs be relentless. Preach.
If you can't even dance, your opinions on Knack is completely null & void. Learn how to do the basics first before attempting to even form an opinion. Dancing is love, dancing is life!

It's like in chapter 7 when Gundahar asks Knack why he's helping humans even though he's not one of them. You're in that one dimension where you can't help yourself but jump into a thread for a game you never finished to shit post alongside everyone else about a potential sequel you never intend to play.

Can you prove that anyone in this thread saying the game is shit hasn't actually played it?

And I actually do think my "Knack is utter shite" posts do serve some use. I bought Knack because there were plenty of posts on here proclaiming the game to be good. In the absence of any posts saying it's shit, the average person would get the impression that the game is probably great, and was maybe just misunderstood at release/review time... or simply has some aspects that drag down an otherwise well-made game (like say, Sonic Unleashed). So I'm here to say "nah it's not like that... it's just shit throughout".

Men Without Hats made an anthem to unite us against non-dancers. It should be Knack 2's them song.

Sure. They keep calling it a platformer.

*mic drop, bitch*

Yes. Horizon has been in development for 5 years (which was being worked on while KZ was), it is coming to an end probably this year (hopefully), they have other teams working on VR games, the main team I am sure will split off, just like ND, and start the ramping up the other project, whatever that may be. Which more than likely, is another Killzone.

These studios do not sit in idle.

Steven der Heide/Eric Boltjes, aka the game director/lead game designer of Shadowfall are not part of the Horizon. And they're not RIGs either, since they're based in Amsterdam.

Maybe the '2nd team' is only 2 people, but there is definitely a pool of people at Guerilla that is not involved with Horizon.
