E3 begins in 100 days- what are we expecting?

My predictions... these are based on absolutely nothing other than my pessimistic hopes and dreams.

Microsoft:
We're getting an Xbox One hardware revision this year.

I think it's a little suspicious that Phil Spencer has all of a sudden started talking about this, with the familiar "no announcements at this time" line following shortly thereafter.

The timing is right—if not overdue, considering Microsoft's position. I think it'll probably be a digital-only box (so as to make the current system still relevant in the marketplace... the same way Apple does with its iPhones) with an internal SSHD. Slightly higher spec APU that will meet or exceed PS4. There's no way they won't get parity this time around.

They'll probably market it as "Oculus Ready" too, in order to boost it as a real differentiator from the existing model, even though I think any Oculus support will be pretty gimped at this price point.

Aside from that, Gears will be a big part of the event along with a big third-party exclusive win.

There's no way on God's green Earth Microsoft are going to bring out a console with a higher spec apu, in a bid to pull back some market share and immediately throw that down the shitter by making it digital only. Now I'm not on to LOL but if I were that would be deserving of an LOL.

Also they would never ramp the price up with a high capacity SSD.

Oculus ready however, I am expecting something as if VR takes off Xbone would be lieft in the dark.

Wouldn't mind something from Rockstar games.
Perhaps we will see some nice improvements to their world simulation now that they have dropped old systems with miniscule amount of memory.

I wouldn't doubt Crash returning. I understand people being skeptical and all but the problem is that there's been too many hints, this time around, and the Playstation Keynote t-shirt was the epicentre of that. It's hard to stay frosty at the first genuine promise in a long time. I'm normally on the negative train with this sort of thing, but I'm too damn excited, this time around.
You're right about hints. there are lots of them everywhere, but still I think maybe they're trolling us! :|
And I hope if they make a new Crash, they make it great. Sony knows that Crash is very popular and they should give it to a great studio, not a low budget game from a small studio.

Karting would be better, all stars could've been great except they went with tiny PG characters which I'd imagine the sequel would still falter on.

If they wanted multiple characters fighting at once then they should have gone the 3rd person route (DBZ style) and have blood lots of blood especially if playing the likes of Kratos.
I like Karting too, but if they want to make a new Fighting, I like to see something like Marvel Vs Capcom. a 1V1 game with 6 characters in each match. they can even make a PlayStation Vs Capcom with lots of awesome characters from both sides!

Don't know if Square Enix will hold a conference this year. I hope they do.

Here's what I expect from Square Enix:

FFXV: Final trailer to push the game before release.
World of Final Fantasy: Gameplay trailer. I can see it being a highly enjoyable Vita game if they follow the correct formula that is Dragon Quest Monsters.
FFXIV ARR: A new large expansion is what this game desperately needs.
FF7R: They must at least explain how they will sell this game. Is it full episodic, a trilogy or just two games?

DQH II: By E3 the game will already be released in Japan, but good old SE will talk about it anyway.
DQXI: It will be about time to get some new info about this game, especially if they still want to release it on 3DS.

KH3: They gotta show KH2.8 first.

Deus Ex: Same as FFXV.

NieR 2: New trailer with release date.

SO5: If it hasn't been released by then, same as DQH II.

A new Dotnod title: SE had LiS booth last year, they will have something similar this year.

More Hitman: Hope it's doing fine by then.

Mobile games and APPs: I can survive this if EA Sports haven't killed me already.

A new title on PS4 and XBOXONE, new IP or dead IP revive.

Here's what I'm hoping for:

A JRPG bomb for NX: They will save it for Nintendo's conference. Maybe they will let Monolith do a full remake of Xenogears, or outsource Crono Break to Mistwalker.

FFXII remaster: The money is on the table. Or even better, Yasumi Matsuno come on stage with a new Tactics Ogre game. It's not that impossible right? It seems he's still on good term with SE, at least he enjoys FF14.

Crash Bandicoot - Because they have to after all that teasing, especially the shirt!

Xbox One.Five - They can't just drop a bomb like "yeah we'll most probably have some upgraded Xboxes for you to buy in the near future" without showing the goods sooner rather than later, can imagine some people holding off buying a One to see what's coming.

Colony Wars - Because I need a Space Opera in my life!

The Last Guardian - Release date and new trailer, cause it isn't dead again.

Playstation Vita 2 - Just cause ;)

Gaming is generally boring as fuck unless some indie developer pops up with something unique. What do the major dudes really bring to the table? Nintendo occasionally brings something different but most major studios bring the latest FPS or TPS. Gaming needs a major shake up before it gets interesting again.

I think it will be a fun show, yet I'm sincerely afraid for the future of E3: the lack of EA / Activision / Disney and Wargaming from the showfloor is a big worrying signal to me.

Yeah, Horizon, The Last Guardian and Dreams were your typical FPS and TPS.

Hoping for a P5 release date though I doubt they'd announce it at E3. I'd like to see some footage of the RE2 remake just to know if it's going to play like the classic games or the more recent ones.

I expect 343 to show warzone firefight for Halo 5 on stage and then announce it is available now. I think Crash will turn up at Sony, I don't think they'd keep teasing it and not have anything to show.

Hoping Bioware show a lot of Mass Effect as well or at least confirm the details that were leaked from the survey.

Is EA even attending E3? Anyway, I sure hope for a single player Star Wars game, and I hope for a much complete experience than Battlefront was at launch.

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?
Hundreds of E3 threads, lots of console warrioring, lots of banning. These are my predictions.
Is that thing where Junior Members come out of the woodworks gonna happen again? Fun times.

And E3? Already? Jeezus I'm still exhausted from Sony 2015. It's so clear in my memory. The opening into TLG, FF7, Shemnue. The cheering and then the CoD trailer as a bathroom break. Sony is gonna deliver something.

MS seemed to be going in a slower direction which I love. No more 90 minutes of trailers shows. I just don't have much enthusiasm for them since all their games are so uncertain. Ever since CGI 2014 (?).

Nintendo is gonna blow the roof off though. They have to. The is the beginning of either the end or a new beginning for them. They have to nail it.

I'm only really interested in the NX and VR announcements (hoping for many more proper games).

I care about the other stuff too, but I don't expect to be surprised much.

FH3 would be nice, though.

And this:

Though, I doubt we see either of them :(

SEGA will be at E3, right? Here's hoping for the resurrection of some of their neglected classic franchises.

Not for mobile, obviously.

Just give me Shenmue I and II HD, please. Especially since it was recently said that at the moment Shenmue III isn't going to be at E3.

Is RE7 a remake? No? Then its unlikely Capcom gives a flying shit :(

I'm convinced RE7 doesn't even exist to be honest. That or it did exist but they've since axed it.

I expect Nintendo to drop some bombs, plus PSVR excitement.

More news of Microsoft Console to PC stuff

Crash Bandicoot mobile game

Zelda Wii U shown (it better be)

Bombs, dropping left and right...I need to be excited

E3 isnt dying or whatever, its the big companies avoiding the Nintendo bulldozer (just like how the Wii had dire consequences on the events size for a long while).

We all know the NX will monopolize the attention way too much to the taste of the usual big publishers. They're just cutting their losses until the storm passes before next year.

As I get older I care less and less about E3, it's all just marketing and I don't feel like I'm the target audience anymore. That said, I am incredibly ready to finally see the new Zelda. It's the most important game for me personally and it kinda needs to be amazing. Outside of that I'm always excited to see Nintendo stuff, and I'm expecting that NX blowout, so that's pretty big. Otherwise I'm expecting disappointment; lots of big loud games that ultimately offer nothing. Sony'll probably offer some more meaningful games, MS probably has nothing as usual (for me personally). I'm hoping Nintendo'll surprise the fuck out of everyone and bring out the big guns, it's been too long.

Overall, I expect little, I hope a lot.

Stuff I expect and I care for:

Mass Effect
Destiny 2
Forza Horizon 3
Dishonored 2

And although R* does not usually announce stuff at E3 I have a feeling we might see

Red Dead Redemption 2

at Sony.

Hope if Crash comes back, he hasn't contracted whatever young Conker has / is on.

If PSVR launches before E3, then I expect some big announcements related to it. Stuff from all the companies that have been hush hush for some time now, including several PlayStation first party.

GTA / Agent / RDR. One or two of those, maybe.

Proper gameplay from titles like Horizon, Detroit, Mass Effect, Zelda, Matterfall, South Park, Gran Turismo (VR too) would also be great to have.

- Crash Bandicoot 4
- God of War
- Full NX reveal, including a new Mario, Zelda U, Smash Bros GotY Edition
- RDR 2
- New trailers for FF VII, TLG, Shenmue and Horizon

I'd love Matterfall gameplay, but it's the type of game Sony will probably push to Gamescom or Paris. I expect the same for Dreams, Wild and Detroit this year.

God of War, Horizon, Sony Bend's game and perhaps the new Sucker Punch are more likely, I think.

Well duh, Nintendo said multiple times NX will be shown.

Have they? As far as I know they haven't made any official statement about the NX other than "not talking about it right now".
They haven't confirmed NX will be shown at E3. Though Reggie said at the 2015 E3 Digital Event they will talk about NX in 2016 and it's extremely likely that E3 will be the place.

NX.

All I care about. Bring me my Mario and Zelda on NX in 1080p.

Sony will be nice too, can't wait to see more of The Last Guardian, among others.

for the first time in a long time, im excited to see what eas gonna show, hoping for the reveal of their next sw game, and more info on andromeda.,

not sure if square enix is gonna have their own conference or be on other stages, but i want to get a release date for ff15 and ff7r.

will be cool to see nx, and hopefully some good looking games for it.

bathesda will hopefully show machine games' next game and more of dishonored 2, both of which im excited for.

from sony, i dont even know what i expect or hope for anymore honestly, they really messed their 1st party game up this gen, and it doesnt look like they want to fix it anytime soon.

overall, this e3 is the one im least excited for in maybe 5-6 years.

The NX is the no. 1 reason Im excited this E3. I just really want to know what it is.

Besides that, I need some new Mass Effect Andromeda footage. And more Horizon footage.

Im not that excited for new game announcements really. Theres already so much coming out at the end of the year. Persona 5, FFXV, Star Ocean, DQ7/8, Pokemon, Zelda. If I want to play them all Ill be playing RPGs until the end of summer 2017. And then youll have Mass Effect and Horizon probably releasing in the first half of 2017. Pfff.
