That tweet is so glorious it needs to be in the OP. Also, I want to see some "Nothing is Possible" signs in the crowd on Sunday.

I love how they used the square brackets (albeit properly) to fix the quote, as if some other quote he made was so fucking memorable that they had to edit the original one to make this one just as good.

Is someone really going to call the WWE out for misquoting RR? This honestly bothers me more than the obvious typo.

WRESTLEMANIA X - 1994

Main Event: Yokozuna (c) vs. Bret Hart for the WWF Championship

Better than their last encounter from the previous Mania. Still no real drama to speak of but they're able to pull a decent story with the match itself by the end of it where Bret is trying anything he can, ultimately Yokozuna fucks himself over and Bret gets the win. Is that a satisfying end to the story? Not if you want the underdog to look legit, but it still works.

WRESTLEMANIA XI - 1995

Main Event: Lawrence Taylor vs. Bam Bam Bigelow

As far as celebrity matches go, this is great. I don't like how in kayfabe celebs have a supernatural power to be equal to or better than wrestlers. Here it's not so bad because LT looks good and is an athlete, but... poor Bam Bam. He looked great too. I would argue he sold too much for LT right out of the gate. Nothing of real consequence here, but I'm sure it was a very successful business move for WWF.

WRESTLEMANIA XII - 1996

Main Event: Bret Hart (c) vs. Shawn Michaels in an 60-Minute Iron Man match for the WWF Championship

Simple and effective build up. Feels like a main event. The first half consists of burst of action that lead to long holds. Crowd is mostly silently observing, pretty stark contrast to the Hogan main events. It eventually picks up in the second half and gets exciting. This is comparable to Hogan/Warrior in that these two are great for each other and are working a match that's suited uniquely for them, even if I argue it's not a complete success. It's kind of an interesting experiment redeemed by the last half. I think there's a guy in the front row that's legit asleep.

Main Event: Sycho Sid (c) vs. The Undertaker in a No Disqualification match for the WWF Championship

Every time WWE talks about the Streak they say it wasn't even mentioned until, like, X-7. Turns out JR mentions it here. Sid loses because of Bret Hart, so he's still kind of protected in his second loss and Mania main event. In a just world Sid would have the respect and career of Taker. The match is not terrible but none of it feels as monstrous as it should.

No DQ stipulation means that the Dudley Boys will come out and help HHH. Rock will interfere and indirectly help HHH to win. Reigns beats his cousin down and sets up the main event for WM33.

I think we can all agree that Ryback will be winning this Sunday, logically. Kalisto would have to cheat in order to realistically take down The Big Guy.

So I guess HHH vs Roman Reigns is a No DQ match now, according to WrestleMania advertising and merch seen at Dallas.

Don't forget Asuka, breh. Unless you intentionally forgot her, in which case, shame on you.

Nah, didn't forget. I was just referring to The Four Horsewomen as a whole as they were the main focus for what's going down tonight (Takeover - Bayley|Asuka), the Triple Threat on Sunday and then Smarkamania on Monday.

I do love Asuka, though. :3

who the heck managed to convince Vince to put the women front and center, good job whoever that was.

Man there's a lot of pressure on those three to deliver sunday, that match has the future of the division on its shoulders.

HHH doing work

If he wasn't hurt, Cena would be front and center.

WRESTLEMANIA XIV - 1998

Shawn Michaels (c) vs. Steve Austin for the WWF Championship with special guest enforcer Mike Tyson

The entire hype video is just Mike Tyson doing the crotch chop. The glass shatters and it's like the Hogan era again. Austin is over like rover. HBK exudes douchiness and I love it. Hearing the crowd pop for Austin is great. It's documented that both men involved found this to be a failure of a match from a creative standpoint. By this point in his career HBK was checked out and/or fucked up so the match you see here is apparently beat-for-beat the match Austin and Triple H were having on the house show circuit at the time, but it's not bad. Towards the end it starts to drag until the classic finishing sequence. Oh yeah, and Mike Tyson turns face just because.

WRESTLEMANIA XV - 1999

Main Event: The Rock (c) vs. Steve Austin in a No Disqualification match for the WWF Championship with special guest referee Mankind

This is a very Attitude Era match, which is to say there's lot of brawling, and I didn't really like it, but it works. It ends in a fun sequence similar to the previous year.

WRESTLEMANIA 2000 AKA WRESTLEMANIA XVI - 2000

Main Event: Triple H (c) vs. The Rock vs. Big Show vs. Mick Foley in a four-way elimination match for the WWF Championship, with a McMahon in every corner

This is pretty awful. It's not even an entertaining disaster it's just... boring. Like last year there's a lot of brawling except with no buzz to the fight like with Austin/Rock. It just goes on and on and there's an entire portion towards the end that is nothing but McMahonery.

WRESTLEMANIA X-7 - 2001

Main Event: The Rock (c) vs. Steve Austin in a No Disqualification match for the WWF Championship

Simply the best. This is what WrestleMania is about. The problem with most of these Mania main events is you expect absolute classic matches from Hogan/Savage, Hogan/Andre, or HBK/Bret but they don't reach their potential. In fact, most come up quite short. This one doesn't. It's a rare moment in time where you have two top guys that are crazy over and have great chemistry. That's all the story is. They both want to be the best. It's a simple story and it I think "wanting to be the best/champion" can be a lazy story for wrestling in most circumstances, but here it is completely earned because it's real. The infamous heel turn doesn't work for most people, but I love it. It's character depth, and motivation. Something that rarely happens in wrestling because there's always money to be made in doing things a certain way. That's my main complaint with these Hogan matches: his character and choices ruin the matches themselves and the stories. Kudos to Austin for trying something different at the height of his popularity, and in my mind, succeeding. It all comes down to character - the callbacks to Austin's career throughout the match that culminate in the unthinkable where he allies with his greatest enemy. Good shit.

Shane will climb to the top of something really high to throw himself onto Undertaker and Vince will realize he loves Shane and gives Shane Raw if promises not to jump. Shane climbs down and hugs Vince. The End

(maybe a swerve with Vince going back on the deal)

Triple H is going over, fam.

Not being in the main event of the worst WM in decades is the smartest play Triple H has made since marrying Stephanie. Dude can blame this sucky show sucking on the other guy

The HIAC match being last probably great increases the chances of Shane actually winning, right?

I wouldnt bet on it. Something surprising probably though.

With Triple H versus Roman its already obvious whats going to happen there so they probably want the last match to be something people are invested in, not 100% sure of the outcome and wont be leaving in the middle of to beat the traffic.
