the farm right now just waters itself with since i got like a billion sprinklers lol
gotta come up with an idea for the greenhouse, maybe i'll just do a bunch of trees in there

Yeah, Deep Silver has non-EU codes locked from EU. One of most aggressive region locking.
These two are projects I've been following. That Which Sleeps is over a year late now. There was nearly half a year of silence with KS updates but they recently started posting small updates again. I wouldn't say it's especially well run KS project at this point. Beta was finally supposed to(?) launch late last year but it has still not launched so I doubt the game launches this year. I wonder what their financial situation is or will be a year from now if the game is still in development. It is pretty ambitious though and looks great so obviously I'm very much looking forward to it.
At the Gates is obviously years late and currently has a targeted release date of Q1 2017. Updates have been really slow with months and months of silence between them. However, when there is an update, it's a glorious one, a huge wall of text about.. everything. Because it's so late, it's financially in a bad place. Jon Shafer sold his house, car and retirement account last year to keep the project going. He didn't want external funding and decided selling everything was the best course of action. Again, the game is quite ambitious and I'm really looking forward to the final release if it ever happens, and I really hope it does.

How is the game now?
Well, probably the same as it was at launch given it's three days old.
What happened is that pre-orders went live late last year but the instead of releasing as a full game it's now an Early Access title. Worse still is that this isn't even the first time that's happened (hello, Men of War 2), although it's more of a minor annoyance now thanks to the refund system.

yeah, they're all huge, Rage and Wolfenstein are both games I got half way lol, but haven't gotten back to them because of the download size, and I remember Rage required some tweaking to fix those pop-ins, so I never did bother redownloading
It's ugly and probably not optimized. Runs fine with my gtx 660 until I'm starting to fill my first park expansion and stuff gets busy.
On the other hand it's already functional, as in, it's a game actually working. Not a buttload of content for now but the park management is there. A nice tutorial and a small campaign with missions, and a few scenarios.
As it is now it's basically a RCT3 ugly upgrade mod with better paths and a coaster creator that I acutally can use. I still like it, but the lack of budget and the troubled project history shows.
Since people in the steam reviews can't be bothered saying more constructive things than "BUGS! UGLY! NOT PLANET COASTER LMAO" I guess devs will have trouble being motivated to fix things.
Edit: Actually I think the best way I can describe it is basically as if an incomplete RCT 4 was released in early access 6 years ago. As I have replayed 3 last year it doesn't bother me though.

Well, that pretty much nails how I've felt about the first 3 episodes except I thought episode 2 was a bit better than you give it credit for
I suppose I should temper my expectations for the last episode then.
It looks a bit complex, but in reality you just have to change a few settings (like your Steam details) and then you're practically good to go.
