Next Call of Duty is called Infinite Warfare

If it's COD4, MW2 and MW3 remade for current-gen, with multiplayer and all DLC, I'm down for a day one purchase.

If it's the next Call of Duty and not a remake, meh, not interested.
There's already hints by Shinobi that this upcoming game is going far into sci-fi.

I don't understand why people are more excited at the idea of remakes of old games rather than a new game. I mean, I understand that IW kind of sucks nowadays, but do you really want to play their same old games again rather than play something new? Really?

I think some people just want call of duty to go back to its roots, keep the boots on the ground. The last few games have all been set in the future, so it's starting to get a little stale (inb4 it's been stale since cod4).

I'm not a Call of Duty fan, but everyone I speak to wants the series to return to modern times or even WWII. Which studio will listen to the fans first is what I want to know.

Yeah but Treyarch's MP Director said it wouldn't happen.

I think I'd be more inclined to believe him than an insider.
And insider that has been right before, the name "Infinite" suggests so, and those comments came from Treyarch, not IW. They may share things here and there, but each studio does their own thing.

I mean, the series already has the feet wet with AW and BO3. Space seems like the best bet now. I really don't see how the series can't go that route.

He's the head MP developer at Treyarch... you really think he doesn't know about what goes on at the other 2 CoD devs? Doesn't matter if the insider's been right before, he can still be wrong. Like I said, more inclined to believe someone who actually works for Activision's top CoD studio (and an important guy as well).

Its nostalgia really, the old games have been hacked so bad now and most the lobbies besides team deathmatch are dead.

Yeah especially since in CoD4 you can get "deleveled" putting you with -10000000000 xp at level 1.. so you'll never be able to level up or even make custom classes again.

The idea of always playing something new isn't necesarily a virtue in itself. Go ask that question to everyone playing Counter-Strike Go or Dota right now. Multiplayer games don't age like single player experiences do, they rather become timeless if the mechanics and gameplay are good enough. Several Call of Duty games fit that bill.

It shouldn't be controversial or backwards that many want them in a modern state, free from the hackers who dominate those lobbies now.

I think it's a great name. Infinite War would've been even better (assuming they wouldn't butcher thr SP plot)

Well, it's just a name. As long as the game is good, then fine by me.

I'm sure it will be, if Ghosts is any indication.

Well with the 360 being unsupported from now, and the ps3 basically dead, probably. Also after blops 3 last gen being such a joke, current gen only (+ pc) is basically confirmed

If not an outright gimped version like BO3 we could see something like World at War where there was a separate version developed for the PS2. I doubt Acti is just going to pretend people won't buy it no matter what.

I typically like COD games, but I don't like that they're getting farther and farther from their "true to life" aspects. I enjoyed Ghosts campaign and kinda wish they would have stuck with a sequel to it.

Sounds interesting. I'm always up for a new COD campaign. I just hope it isn't as bad as BLOPS3, but that shouldn't be hard to manage.

I'm trying to think of ways that it could end up worse than the Black Ops III campaign and I struggle to think of any. It could only be as bad, at worst.

What will the DLC be called though?

Infinity Microtransactions? Too tame though.

There is something here.... just got to find it....

As much as I want that to be true, I seriously doubt it would happen. Did Shinobi say that it makes BO3 look like the stoneage or something along those lines?
