OMG. 10/10!
Totally fine with Nintendo's plan too. It worked for Seinfeld, so why not?
Oldie but a goodie:
They will probably have a big Nintendo Direct for the NX.
Microsoft released the Xbox 360 just 4 years after the original Xbox came out, and it sold like gangbusters.
Ahh the endless speculation. Will the NX release in 2017 be a bare bones release like the 3DS and Wii U or are they waiting until 2017 to have a solid base of first party titles to push the console? Like always, we'll just have to wait and see.
They will do a huge press event.Nintendo Direct alone won't be enough. This is their next major console. They need to show NX to the public and allow the press to get the hands on it.
Sony had their own PS4 event, and a info blowout at E3 with games, pricing, design etcetera. E3 has always been involved and it's only logical because it's the biggest gaming event there is.
Nintendo showing a console and launching it without even giving it a spotlight at E3 is pretty strange, to say the least. But I guess they just completely missed targets with the NX and they have no choice.
and piggybacked it with E3 later that year.
They will do a huge press event.
Confirmed that it will(Which will also 99% get released on the NX)
That will go well.

WUT. I missed this announcement.Well they did announce FE and Animal Crossing for mobile. I have no doubt in my mind a mobile AC game will be huge because the mobile market is Animal Crossing's largest market on 3DS.
That def was not my point. I think it should be released holiday 2016. However, since they are going to miss it, I see no reason to rush it for March 2017. Either have a full fledged launch then (doesn't seem like it will have much third party support at launch tho) or delay it till the holiday to have a stronger box with better support.
I guess you guys are right, I forgot Sony's was in Feb.
Changed my mind, they should treat E3 like Sony did in Feb and give what details they can (even not show the console yet if not ready, whiners at Sony for that ate crow). Then later this year they can do their own event with big blow out.
Just the reverse of Sony really. Same effect.
This seems really really dumb to me.
I'll await further info and the future.

Ha checked the private Nintendo collectors group I'm a part of on facebook for the reaction. These guys are the most hardcore fanboys I've ever known, as in, they will spend every weekend hunting Nintendo merchandise, they will find say, Nintendo wrapping paper, then they will post it and all of the rest will go down and buy it all out. Crazy dedicated to Nintendo.
They are not happy or optimistic, not happy at all.
When these guys are not reacting positively. I don't think Nintendo is in a good position.
I don't see it. People are bashing Nintendo, what should they do?As I said in another thread, most posts here read like the first stage: denial.
Yeah, that would be the logical thing to do. That's why this news is so baffling, I don't think they have anything to show.
I think the NX is missing some major development and manufacturing milestones to warrant Nintendo skipping out on E3 like this. That's why I personally wouldn't be shocked if Nintendo delayed it even further towards holiday 2017. That would give them the opportunity to put themselves back on the map with a blowout at E3 2017, directs in the months after, and launch in the biggest shopping season of the year.

The issue with that is, what do they do for another year and a half?
NX delay kind of seemed almost inevitable. However what if P5 gets delayed too on May 5th and will be Nintendo's Worldwide Release in March 2017? Megaton.
Go dig through my post history if you really feel like it, champ. People were shouting down anyone suggesting a 2017 date. You know first-hand how crazy those speculation threads get.

Could it be they will be announcing the 3ds successor and the floor space will be dedicated to tech demos?
I know I'm just spitballing but filling 3 large booths with 1 product seems impossible and I'm not buying that something changed last minute with the NX
The have been ever since october 2015.Are dev kits out in the wild yet? Pretty sure no, otherwise we'd know exactly what they are, correct?
