Ready at Dawn unveils Deformers (PC/PS4/XB1, online/local MP, GameStop) [Previews]

Not sure on rules for linking to Polygon, but Polygon confirms this is for game trust the publisher gamestop is forming: deformers is game trust published

Looks awesome btw.

GameStop's Mark Stanley said they signed Ready At Dawn's next game because of its broad appeal, both from a gameplay and character perspective. There's a low barrier to entry, but there's a high skill ceiling. It doesn't hurt that Deformers is pretty well suited for demo kiosks at GameStop stores.

Y'all wanted gameplay.

Don't even get mad about this.

I'm certainly not.

I'm not a fan of The Order, had amazing visuals and art but the rest was awful.

That said this isn't to my taste either. There are a lot of arena based multiplayer games around at the moment so I feel they'll need to work hard to stand out.

Looks like a fun little title. I'm all for devs not getting stuck in one particular rut, so this is nice to see.

All the AAA groupies need to freakin' relax. Give them time.

Does anyone think this game will sell at all? So disappointed. It's the genre that I really have absolutely no interest in.

Oh well. Hopefully they will do a sequel to The Order next. I loved The Order which I know is not the majority opinion.

It's all about presentation and marketing. I think it will make enough money to be profitable at least.

It's something they've been wanting to make. Not sure why people are acting all crazy, it looks real cute and like a fun game to me.

They're working on a AAA game.

They are making this game, a VR game and are also in pre-production of an AAA game. They seem to be doing fine.

Looks like they decided to make an actual game this time. I see no problem with this. Maybe it'll be fun, fun is important in a game.

I did wonder what happened to Sony's small digital game output this gen. It was never outstanding, but it existed on the PS3.

You had your chance RaD.
Now look at the shit you have to work to make a living.

Clearly we're going to have to quote this on every page:

Eurogamer said:

All the people rubbing their hands together in glee at the prospect of a studio having to downsize their ambitions after a poorly received game (which as previously mentioned isn't actually what's happening here) need to step back and take a look at themselves.

Im pretty sure their decision not to become a Sony first party studio is what challenged their AAA development. I think that their sequel to The Order would have let them address the majority of criticisms and create a great game. But it won't happen as a third party.
I doubt it was their decision. It was one of those "quit so we don't have to fire you" deals for sure.

It better be The Order 1888.

As for this game, it looks like it could be fun. Need to see more as the trailer was pretty short.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
I have no issue with developers trying something different and smaller scale games like this seem like a decent avenue for experimenting and trying something different. It can probably get a bit maddening working on the same kind of game over and over for some people. The game itself looks interesting but not sure if its for me, will wait to see more.

Was so disappointed after seeing that trailer. Nothing left to say. Where is that over the top AAA experience RAD?

Looks fun, and it's a shame that people are using this as an excuse to rub their hands with glee at how far RaD have "fallen."

Like, a couple of years away? The Order only released a touch over a year ago; did you really think we'd be seeing their next AAA title this soon?

Thanks for the info.
I was just pissed off because i saw potential with The Order 1886 and now i see this game.

Hard to dictate exactly what this is from the trailer, but this looks like a totally solid casual multiplayer game. With a bright artstyle and fun vibe.

Pretty much a full 180° from The Order's bleak vibe. And this one's actually a videogame.

The Order was a video game too.

If you're going to go down the "it's not a game" road nonsense then don't reply, I don't care to read it.

Looks interesting

Question how many multiplayer arena shooters the market can support though

My guess is 3 and they're all already out

A company being excited for their new game is a huge slap in the face to all the fans that liked their old games.
Yeah that looked fun lol
