How excited are you about gameplay changing loot crates (maybe w/ microtransactions)?

There's no reason why those things couldn't be part of the loot pool, if they are then you could just use all of the pieces for a perticular set or mix different pieces from different costumes

True! I think I'd be alright with that. And not worried about these pieces unbalancing the game too much right now or potential micro transactions until we get more info.I trust NR to know what they're doing here.

Oh, of course then. I said he seemed like a good businessman, not a good guy lol.

right... so while there's loot boxes, pay to win mechanics, and whatever other rotten surprises they have in this game... he'll be on E3 livestreams demoing it next week like it's going to be the greatest fighting game of all time.

... because he IS that type of person...

Of course playing a fighting game with a wiimote was a terrible experience- didn't stop Boon from being a businessman and getting in front of a camera to sell it anyway. This was well before WB bought out NRS as well... so it's not this behavior was forced on him by execs or anything new.

He will always promote the hell out of his latest game... regardless of how bad it actually is.
It was playable anyway. The motions weren't broken or worked randomly. Worked as intended. The cart racing game was the one that got the most benefit since it played like Mario Kart.

The game was also compatible with the other controllers and had an extra character too.

Armageddon was far from a polished game in general, but the Wii version at least had some effort put into it.

I havent followed your entire conversation on that topic, but what exactly is the problem?
That Ed is doing his job, selling his product?

If you were ready to buy a Warner Bros PC port then I think the jokes on you...

No, not personally. I was ready to decide if their proposition was worth my money and time, just like I do with every other game released on PC. Instead of opting for improving their game, WB seems to have decided that we PC players shouldn't even have that option.

Hopefully they decide to release it on PC some time later, after they have made their big bucks on console...

That's what I don't get.

Miyamoto, Kojima, Ono, Iga, Schafer....they and more appeared and appear in videos selling their games, despite problems and stuff others may not be fans of.

Might as well not buy any game...ever. Because even indies has to sell the games by talking and posting videos of them while overselling aspects that may or not be bad.

This article gives us a basic idea as to what the story is going to be:

Injustice 2 continues the epic cinematic story introduced in Injustice: Gods Among Us as Batman and his allies work towards putting the pieces of society back together while struggling against those who want to restore Superman’s regime. In the midst of the chaos, a new threat appears that will put Earth’s existence at risk.

All right lads, the bookies are now officially open. Now officially taking bets regarding the new threat that will put Earth's existence at risk:

Darkseid (3/1)
The Crime Syndicate (10/1)
Vandal Savage (25/1)
Etrigan (100/1)
Braniac (150/1)
Arm-Fall-Off-Boy gone rogue. (500/1)

Place ya bets, folks!

Probably Darkseid but I'd love the Crime Syndicate. Braniac is also a good bet but I'm still going with Darkseid.

Yeah, I do not see the issue. Ed Boon still works for WB so if WB wants MTs in the game, Ed has to put them in and make them seem attractive.
Not gonna fault the guy for not standing up to publishers.

Jesse Eisenburg's Lex Luthor.

Atroticus is in? Nice!

Gives me hope that we'll get a nice roster so I can play as guys like Captain Boomerang.

Not sure how to feel about the armour stuff... I get this feeling like it could either keep the game feeling fresh months after release or lead to horrid balance issues.

WB is continuing their trend of nickel and diming behaviors influencing their gameplay development and design I see.

Guess it's too late to request a statement that expresses stronger dislike than "Not very excited, admittedly."

The idea of "...but your fight strategy and your personal approach to every match..." in a fighting game seems like it will make me entirely lose my shit. Fighting games can be tough with evolving strategies and counters but this seems like it will make this exponentially more difficult and likely lead to abuse/overpowered configurations.

No PC version and some PC players are fine with it. I honestly don't understand either position.

If it's anything like their Batman: Arkham Knight or MKX ports, I'd rather have no port than that shit.

But it's gonna kill this game's chances at a good competitive future if this isn't handled properly. There should be a balance of keeping the casuals happy & keeping the FGC happy.

"A good competitive future" is a perk but not something that makes or breaks a fighting game, at least as far as content and/or sales go.

Like MKX has sold more than SF4 has sold for most of its time and has fewer participants than Guilty Gear at EVO (which is a very very niche game in comparison).

So it takes place on alternate Earth? Where Green Arrow is dead?

Injustice has been a what-if story from the very beginning.

Might come out when the console versions get the inevitable "GOLD" version with all DLC included, just like the first game came out on pc.

Or WB are just sick of pc and will never release another game on the computer....

What are the odds on Danny The Street going rogue?

5/1.

Incidentally, oh my god...the Wikipedia summary for this character is absolutely amazing.

Danny is an actual street. A sentient and sapient stretch of roadway, he has long served as a home and haven for the strange and dispossessed.

Danny is an unusually flamboyant personality. In spite of the fact that most streets are genderless, Danny is male. Danny cross-dresses, his sidewalks are lined with various hyper-masculine stores (gun shops and sporting goods, mostly) which are decorated with frilly pink curtains and lace.

He speaks English, heavily flavored with Polari, a largely antiquated form of homosexual slang. "Bona to vada," ("Good to see you.") is his favorite way of greeting friends. His personality is based, at least partially, on British drag performer Danny La Rue.

We need Idris Elba to play this character in the DC Cinematic Universe.

Superboy Prime shows up and snaps Regime Superman's neck, while everyone else collectively shits their pants.
It's going to be Darkseid tho, I'd love some CSA alt skins.

Hope they keep Green Arrow, MMH & Shazam in.

Well I can't tell if it's my overall disdain for Netherrealm's art direction at work or not, but I don't really like anything I see here.

right... no mental gymnastics here... just comparing COD netcode to a fighting game as a way to say it's okay for all of NRS' games to have terrible online... yeah... whatever was I thinking...

Your argument was that it's suspect that with millions they couldn't have good netcode, my counter argument was that a franchise with more clout and even more millions put into it still has bad netcode so money isn't the end all to having good netcode, your counter was "mental gymnastics". When did I ever say it's okay? Once?

The problem is their business practices regarding micro-transactions is steadily getting worse with each new game- this one in particular now has ones that can affect gameplay balance.

There are those who believe that Ed Boon cares about the FGC crowd and couldn't possibly put out a game that's going to do that audience wrong. I'm simply saying don't believe a word he says in interviews... because he'll just straight up lie about the game to sell it.

That wasn't part of your argument with me, that much I agree with. From MKX with the easy fatality token and krypt unlock it's clear that they are willing to do it.

The microtransaction is a problem you make yourself, i'm pretty sure nobody's holding a gun to your head telling you to spend money on a shiny lootbox. Don't want it? Don't buy it! This isn't the first game that has this stuff, just ignore it.

And we dont know how exactly all of this is going to work. What if there's a RPG Mode that allows you to use the upgrades and a Pro MLG Mode without all that stuff? We should wait with all the hate and rage, nobody knows what's going on with this stuff yet.

That's marketing. Part of Videogames since forever, everything is awesome and nothing ever sucks.

While I don't think he's especially any better or worse than most other studio execs, his team has a history of generally delivering on what their audience wants.

However, I will admit that I inexplicably forgot that WB is the one calling the shots here, so in retrospect such concerns that things may turn egregious aren't that far-fetched at all.

oh no. I've never been so excited and had the air taken out of my balloon so fast. I have enough games where I have to grind loot, don't need it in a fighting game =/

When i play fighting games i just play to fight not do what ed boon is thinking it really messes everything up in the wrong way for me as a casual in fighting games i do not want this to be honest. Yeah skins and such can be cool sure but overall having more influence on the gameplay is a dumb idea.

-Not very excited, admittedly
-Ambivalent
-OH HELLS YES!
-Is there a way we can add this to every multiplayer game?
-Thor 2: The Dark World

I'm typically okay with microtransactions, sometimes even some gameplay modifying ones, as long as they are not in place of what should be existing content. If the game feels complete and the loot feels like bonuses or simple fast-tracking, I can live without bonuses and I can put in my time.
But if I feel like I'm missing what should be included features then I'm upset.

I feel the same way about microtransaction supported 'free' DLC. If that's how you're funding your DLC, great. I like it. If that's how you're completing your clearly unfinished product, fuck off.

That sounds legitimately horrible. Super heroes are not create-a-characters.

Yeah, I would prefer simple, cohesive default designs across the cast and interesting alts from movies and comics, not stuff like those old horrible Batman figure variants:

1441988952132151181.png

Used to drive me crazy when I was younger and just wanted a basic, nice looking Batman figure, and just these were littering the shelves.

Ed posted a poll asking fans if they'd want Blue Beetle, Swamp Thing, or Captain Cold.

Do the right thing and vote Blue Beetle (Jamie). Sorry if it's already been posted.

I suspect there will be at least two in-game currencies.

One that you get for playing normally, and one you have to spend money on to unlock stuff faster.

I also suspect that skins like TV Supergirl or Movie Aquaman will straight up cost money and can't be customised much or at all.
