It's a Nintendofied Witcher 3. In the best possible way.

I guess the issue is that Witcher 3 is so successful because of the writing and all the small plotlines and narrative quests. Obviously the writing in Nintendo games in kept to a minimum, so it'll be interesting to see if the game can sustain interest in the open world.

Am I the only one who is a little bored here? please show us a quest or something substantial, all the open world stuff is so tiring.

I find forums a lot more fun when everyone sits on their hands and says nothing or just talk about ejaculating.

wait

Lol, really? Honestly, it gets old when everything is compared to Souls, like Souls invented action RPG's or dark fantasy.

I actually love the more simple look Aonuma talked about. Most modern games jam in as much texture detail as possible. But this is way more pleasant to look at.

Mechanically and in terms of visual art this game looks great but man, the sound effects (the item tingle especially) and enemy designs really make the game feel far too similar to Wind Waker - with which I mean to say that is too friendly / unmenacing for what it is trying to accomplish with its vast world and survival elements.

For this game I had hoped they would return to a more serious and sombre tone akin to the first two games (and yes, Dark Souls) to enhance the sense of adventure in a dangerous environment instead of an environment for which we have to pretend it is actually dangerous and challenging (like with every 3D Zelda so far for the most part, with their mostly far too easy combat and with effects like puffy clouds and sound cues for combos that make their combat feel not menacing at all).

Breaking with gameplay mechanical tradition is great and all but why not break with tonal tradition as well this time instead of copying Wind Waker and such?

lol zelda sound effects turn you off of a zelda game.

I dont know what some people want. Apparently not a zelda game. This is already a massive departure from what we've been getting.

Looks great, but concerned about two things: seems like the lack of difficulty continues as in recent entries. Nearly endless healing items, enemies do little damage. Also not digging the lack of music in the overworld. The persistent music has always been something that I expect from Zelda games, and the lack of it here is bumming me out.
