Jason Heyward with 4 more RBIs than anyone else on the team is... intriguing. Not so much in the 'true talent' column, but certainly it's a strong measure of 'awesomeness.'

I read an article on Hee Sop Choi awhile back it was a good read but now I don't remember where I read it.

He wouldn't provide any more offense than Loney does though.

Nerd.

Here comes White Flag Ortiz to close the game out.

Shit, That didn't work out like Torre was hoping. Is Sherill available?

DeWitt won't be in the majors for long again, Maybe they could try Hu at 2nd?

I'm amazed we signed these journeymen OFers when we have 3 All-Star calibre starters and did jack shit to bolster the IF. How is it possible that we still don't have a single power threat for the entire infield?! Sure, Blake might get 20 HRs if he stays healthy, but he isn't scaring anyone.

I'm amazed Ortiz got us out of that last inning.

Good grief. The Royals bullpen is really sucking this year. I know with that team you can really say "The Royals are the worst at <insert facet of baseball here>", but geeze. They are really killing us this year. We should at least be 4-4 or even 5-3 right now but they keep throwing away games. Literally.

And? They'd still be a 97-loss team. Without the pen, we're a 105-loss team.

You have to understand, man. This is actually the best the Royals can be this season! Let that sink in for a sec.

Wait the game is still going? Its been like 5 hours!

Edit: Holy shit Joe Torre is so bad at bullpen management, no one left for the Dodgers!

Position players!

i was done at work like 20 minutes ago but stuck around to watch the ending of that one. At least it was interesting when I couldn't go anywhere.

watching westcoast baseball on the eastcoast is a blessing and a curse.

I'm sorry for the Mets fan, jebus you guys are jinxed seriously

Mets mantra for this season should be "How can we lose this game, winning just doesn't feel right"

So I didn't get a chance to post it last night after the game, but Jon, I thought you said the lineup was going to be bad? The only thing bad about the Phillies last night was Kendrick. Kendrick is kind of a shame really. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. He had a promising spring training, but he just can't cut it as a starter. Hell, I question what he would be able to do out of the bullpen at this point.

Eh, when the 1-4 in that lineup is hot, you could dump AA players in the 5-9 spots and still get 6 runs.

This is true. I was impressed with Victorino too. I dunno why he can't do that in the 7 spot. I guess he gets more fastballs at lead off. He looked a lot better than he has so far this season.

Well to be fair, I was trolling my own team. I really didn't expect that offensive explosion last night, but I did expect Kendrick to be completely shelled. I figured the Phillies would lose the game similar to Kendrick's first start--and through 4 innings it certainly looked that way.

The Phillies are not as good as people are making them out to be though. When they start playing contending teams they will be exposed badly. Phillies might not score 14 runs the entire series against the Marlins this weekend. And I'm glad the bullpen thinks they are better than what the pundits suggest, but they are going to plummet back to Earth soon.

just watched the highlights of last nights game, man that glaus homer was a bomb. Hanson looked good too. Still hurt from that 17-2 loss though.

Glad the Mariners offense is getting back on track. I think they can be a mediocre team this year. At the end of May they might have Hernandez - Lee - Bedard, which isn't a bad 1-2-3.

Off day today :(

Today's humiliation will be epic. I'm guessing 17-3 Cubs.

I'm hoping Macha just makes Suppan pitch the entire game after giving up 6 in the first, then murders Suppan in the shower ties him to a chair and send the corpse up the Doug Melvins office with a "Yippie kai-yay Motherfucker" sign stapled to his chest.

I can't decide whether Howard will go 0-for today, or hit a homer off Olson, whom he owns.

HMM...

I'll say he goes 1 - 4, with a single, 2 SO, and a sac fly.

Went to last night's Dodger game and left during the 10th after Casey's close home run hit. Dodgers need tons of work on their bullpen. 4 hours and 10 innings later and we're out of pitchers. Ortiz on the mound and I knew the game was over.

It was a good game though, just need tons of work.
