What a gorgeous room.

That's really silly. I mean, it's a UE4 game.
(I know it's not done, but if you are using UE4 arbitrary resolution compatibility is something you don't have to implement -- you just shouldn't actively break it)

There's a screenshot earlier in the thread of it being in 4K, not sure why the demo is limited

edit: Derp, it was just a 4K TV, doesn't mean the game was in 4K, I'm silly.

This game would look so amazing donwsampled TT_TT

Thankfully there'll be time to give them that feedback, that we care about it.

Looks excatly like the sequel to OOC I was hoping for.
Not to mention that, if the game turns out great, the addtional characters and nightmare mode could easily make this my one of favorite games.

Ehhh I dont get why the Ori and Cave Story mentions. You are getting Igavania here and thats all people wanted. He doesnt need to do much changes to the formula and for what this demo was meant to show this early it serves its purpose and I think everyone expects the final game to be harder than what it currently is in the demo among some other bells and whistles.

Exactly my thought, this is intended for someone who is a fan of the Igavania games .

They're not complete and you can't finish the demo because the directional shard action is not mapped to anything I can find, but here's what I did find:

WASD: movement
Z: backdash
Space: jump
Mouse1: Attack
Mouse2: Shard attack

B, O: open/close menu
N: open/close map

Just FYI I was able to use the directional shard action with E

Z X C V map to the face buttons, E is the right stick shard action, 1 is LB and 0 is RB (for sorting through the item categories)

The speed of the main character is just right, but I kind of wish the animation *looked* like she moved faster, if that makes sense?

Definitely optimistic!

Finally got Amy

So I've gotten shards from

Seama
Dullahamer
Amy

Has anyone checked if Morte or Buer have shards?

So I watched a couple of videos of people playing the demo, and now I really regret not backing this. This looks exactly like what I expected and wanted so far, which is really encouraging when it's this early in production.

I had no idea you got spells and stuff from killing certain enemies. I thought it was just gonna be items ala SotN, not extra stuff like the Sorrow games. That's fucking rad.

You can slacker-back. $60+ gets you beta access via Steam (the deadline for the demo was the 13th).

Had no idea we were getting the E3 demo.

That was absolutely fantastic! Really enjoyed it and looking forward to the final game now more than ever.

Do you still need a code?
I've got one but since I'm on a mac, I can't do much with it.
I usually don't take codes in this situation, since I really can't promise that I can do anything about it, but if it's completely useless to you I could at least have a look.

Iirc you backed more until the wiiU version was announced, right?
The WiiU and Vita versions, yes (Incidentally, the only consoles released after 2010 that I own :p).

I had no issue finishing the demo with KB/M.
I'd add that 1 and 0 act as LB/RB in the inventory.

Oh don't worry about it.
I backed the kickstarter so I could get a physical for PS4 as well as a the Vita version.
I really can't do anything with a PC key as I don't play PC games at all. ;)

Still blowing my mind that I am playing an Igavania in 1920x1080 and it is silky smooth man the final game is going to be something else!

Also, pleasantly surprised that this takes place outside the castle. From the kickstarter i thought the entire game was going to take place in the castle. Glad to see they are stretching out w environments!

Love love love that animation when she gets a shard and it's a full screen image of stained glass around her.

If anything, you can use it as an opportunity to educate your colleagues at PC Gamer who don't understand this is one of the first playable builds ever and doesn't represent the final product, so they shouldn't be reviewing it like one.

Just finished playing the demo, game is slick and fun as hell. So glad I backed this!

Had to restart the demo once after the game stopped responding to the Steam Controller (wouldn't even bring up overlay) but other then that no major problems, just a few visual glitches here and there. Was ecstatic when I found a hidden item behind a breakable wall upon 2nd play. Demo is very easy but just right for the very first area of the game. My only real complaint is that the directional fire felt a bit weird using the Steam Controller trackpad, but that might just need some configuration on my/community's part. Maybe click to fire?

I need to sign up for the forums and tell Iga not to touch the tutorials though. They're quick and simple right now; no need for lengthy cinematics.

I had a little trouble with it as well, but it worked on my second playthrough. Click to fire is a good idea, I might have to try that. Otherwise I thought the default gamepad configuration worked fine.

Gimme the option to turn them off and figure things myself but the tutorials were ok. Just let me keep moving while they show up.

The one thing I saw in the demo vids that I watched that I was a little iffy on was the cinematic intro for the boss fight. I'd much prefer the old style of walk into a room and "oh shit there's a boss!"

Thankfully it wasn't too long or full of stupid dialog, but I could see that not being the case for fights that are more important to the story. Can you skip the cinematic in the demo?

Love the demo. Played it twice now and was delighted to find stuff I didn't the first time round (mostly shards). It is a bit rough right now though I do think the game is heading in the right direction. Glad I backed this. Those people who think it controls weird have probably never played SOTN or haven't played it since it came out on PS1.

I don't know about you but I went PS4 because I like the idea of a physical copy. Especially since I paid so much for it (150) and it will be like 15 cents in about two years so might as well wait if you want it on PC down the road.

Just do like I did and go for both!

I was so enamored by this project that I felt the same way at first but then upped my pledge to get the box and a second digital copy so I'd have it on Steam and PS4. That was probably a bad idea, but here we are today!
