From that thread, this is fucking my brain up something righteous this morning. I wasn't ready for this depth:

That reads like a deep oriental philosophical quote.

But he's probably only trying to say that he doesn't wish to play with people who haven't paid for the game or something.

I understood the contrary. He says that he never finds anyone to play with, that going F2P will bring new people, and that whiners should "grow" up.

That actually makes more sense.

I am going to advertise a card game which I have just tried and which is actually not bad. It is a deck-building game, that I wanted to try after playing a bit of Cthulhu Realms from the Humble Monthly subscription.

It is a game called Frost, which was released on July 5th. You have to survive a given number of days in a frosty environment. To do so, you have to gather a number of resources each day. You gather resources by playing a resource card, buying event cards, or discarding a character card. There are fatigue cards to entice not to discard cards. If you can not fulfill the day requirements, you can also discard your whole hand, losing a day but not getting additional fatigue cards.

There is a demo on Steam: steam://install/493940

The game is currently cheaper at Humble store (it comes with a Steam key), and you can get 10% additional discount rate if you are a Humble Monthly subscriber, which makes it 5.25€ instead of 7€.

I have been trying to look for similar games on Steam, but the search function is a mess, even with the tagging system.

This seems pretty irregular in that I can't find anything at all via Google, but still I thought maybe somebody here might know what the fuck is up.

Got a new computer (Alpha R2) and Steam, or rather just the web content within Steam (library, store page, community but not the client border or for that matter any other program) are flickering. Just these broad, horizontal lines flickering on Steam that are driving me fucking nuts. Despite it not effecting any other programs I tried changing out the HDMI cable, messing with my monitors refresh rate, messing with Steam settings in the Nvidia control panel.

The flickering persists. I'm going crazy.

Are the flickering lines kind of greenish? I had a defective graphic card on a PC which I ordered on Amazon, and I returned it because of this.

Definitely not Dex -- in my recollection, it was pretty action-focused with little-to-no story beyond the basic setup of you vs. some kind of Sci-Fi fortress. Whatever it was, I think I only looked at its store page, and Ghost 1.0's screenshots and description feel like less of a match to my vague memories than CRYPTARK does, but thanks anyway.

I think I know your game:

I'd contact Alienware support if I were you (since that's not normal and could be a hardware issue)
Try tweeting at https://twitter.com/AWLenard as well (he's their twitch guy, but he said many times that if someone has a problem with their hardware and lets him know, he can try to expedite the process)

Nope, just broad, colorless flickering on the web portions of Steam. Can't replicate it in Edge, either.

Thanks! Will do.

The new Hitman elusive target thing sounds pretty neat. Kill a guy who has an identical twin around town as well who can't be harmed. Cool idea.

How many games have you guys finished this year?
I have finished 40 games. 12 more games to beat the challenge

26 with not a single one done since May since I'm on vacation, which means I'm falling far behind. Been unable to really touch anything lately, but 26 is easy enough.

I think I'm gonna start using How Long To Beat for my games. Are anyone else using it? On the other side it's not that necessary as I already keep track of my completed games in an Excel document.

I use Steam Completionist, personally.

So Lost Planet 3 has this goofy problem. There's a part at the start of the game where you have to rotate a wheel and the prompt says "rotate w/a/s/d" but nothing will happen. You have to mash F instead. That's really weird!

Same issue with a controller. It says to hit 'A' but you have to rotate the left stick.

I wonder, will people who just owned the paid game get Founder status, or did you have to actually play it?

And aside, I'm getting sucked into Pokemon TCG Online. Better crack than Hearthstone for me, even if the animations are way worse.

Yeah they didn't make the prompts correctly for that part. I don't know why. I played on Mouse and Keyboard like you but if you use a controller the prompts are correct.

It's the weirdest thing.

Oh wait really?

Nevermind I guess the prompt is messed up regardless.

Makes sense, release those abominations while every non-pervert is out, sitting in the sun and enjoying the summer.

I should double my ram to 32gigs.

Good plan, I always buy more than necessary when prices are low and then don't have to worry for the next five years.

Steam Client Update

General
Fixed rare client hang when downloading additional game content
Fixed a bug that could cause cloud sync to break when an application is permitted to use over 2GB of cloud storage
Fixed an issue where video series could appear improperly in the Recently Played jump list
Fixed compatibility issues with some upcoming Vulkan games

Library
Videos that are part of a Series (e.g. CS:GO Player Profiles, PAYDAY Web Series, etc.) will automatically be categorized together in the Video Library.

In-Home Streaming
Fixed an issue causing horizontal blockiness in some windowed games and when running Big Picture on a screen wider than 16:9

In-Game Overlay
DirectX 12 titles in multi-GPU configurations are now supported by the overlay
Fixed a rare issue that could prevent the overlay from drawing in certain games

Steam Controller
Added support for Controller Activators
Activators sit between inputs (like a button) and outputs (like a keypress) and allow for a variety of new behaviors and functionality
Current activators include Normal Press, Long Press, Double Press, Start Press, Release Press, etc.
Activators have their own settings, so they can each have haptics, delays, toggles, cycle bindings, turbo, etc.
There is no limit to the number of activators on an input, so a single button can have a normal press, a double press, multiple long presses of different durations, etc. each of which execute independently and fire off their own bindings with their own settings.
Mode shifts are also activator based, so mode shifts can now toggle or have special functionality like only on Long Press.
Internal file format has been reorganized due to these changes, so new configurations are not backwards compatible. Any changes made to an existing configuration will not work in previous builds
All existing configurations are converted into the new format and carry over the appropriate settings and bindings
Added the ability to copy and existing Action Set into a new Action Set when creating one. You now have a dropdown of all existing action sets to copy from on create.
Fix for zombie controllers when resuming from suspend with a dongle in a suspend-powered USB port.
Gyro optimizations which in certain cases reduce latency.
Fixed footer showing toggle game actions button when using action sets on legacy configurations.
Fixed Action Sets being visible and selectable at the top of the UI while in binding/activator editing modes.
Fixed Gyro Mode Button being visible and selectable while editing other modes.
Fixed Footer not appearing in the desktop configurator.
Fixed Controller Beep potentially browning out in low battery situations.
Fix for register controller dialog only showing up in the main Steam window and not the overlay if you turn on a new controller while in-game.
Added a "None" option for trackball and scrollwheel friction. Essentially this makes it continue its momentum forever.
Added a Custom Curve option for Joystick and Trigger Response Curves. Allows the stick/trigger response to be tuned to a higher degree.
Added Curve Visualization for Joystick and Trigger response Curves.
Fixed activators not showing up properly within mode shifts.
Fix for haptic settings not being inherited properly when converting previous format to new format.
Changed default Regular Press haptic setting to off by default.
Fixed activators not going back to advanced mode properties when cancelled within an advanced mode property binding.
Fix for multiple activators with multiple descriptions on a single input not appearing properly in the UI.
Fixed an issue where switch bindings (bumpers, start/back, etc) would not work properly in some configurations
Fixed Start/Select/Bumpers/Grips not working properly with certain configurations.
Fixed Mode-Shifts not being set properly in extended action sets.
Fixed Activator settings not sticking when no other settings were altered.
Fixed showing the "Show Activators" button while already inside an activator binding.
Fix for Euro Truck Simulator 2 not allowing action sets.
Added Start and Select to the available Mode-Shift buttons.
Fixed changes to sliders in activators not applying if no other settings were changed.
Fix for Big Picture overlay being destroyed when exiting the overlay via the Steam Button in a Shortcut.
Fixed a crash that could sometimes happen when closing the configurator in desktop mode.
Fix for certain mode shift buttons not always being converted over from the old format correctly.
Fix for haptics settings not being correctly converted from modes to activators in all cases.
Fix for crash when trying to update the Steam Controller configurator controls while in the midst of rebuilding the UI.
Fix for crash when Big Picture would try to reinitialize twice in rapid succession.

Virtual Reality
Fixed crash when launching VR titles via desktop shortcuts
Added notification for when a screenshot is taken while in VR.
Fix for selecting the proper graphics adapter in multi-gpu setups.
Added support for overriding the application that launches to host Desktop Game Theater.

Linux
Improved compatibility with newer Linux distributions

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
finished 10000000 on my phone tonight at work, either the game is much shorter than the sequel, or its simply just much easier to play on a phone by sliding the tiles with your finger than with a mouse, I finished it (as in, I got a 10000000 run and escaped, technically you can play forever) in 3 hours, strangely how long to beat says the average is 6 so I must be amazing at match 3s >_>

Still a great game even if I Must Buil a Boat is just a better game overall (I have 5 hours in that on on steam and still havent finished it). Ill probably start it up on my phone aswell now and play simultaneous

What issues? I can't remember anything really bugging me except for the games balance.

stuff like manually selecting partymembers to check chests for traps, then to disarm them, then to unlock the chest, then to loot it, stuff like that

mostly irritating ui crap
