You'd still need controllers though, hence why I think the $100 would be a pure touchscreen portable
Yeah, seems like the $100 version would be so you can play Pokemon GO without your parents buying you a phone. Then the good screen like the 3DS XL is more, console is more, controller is more.

Seems you can buy the screen and controllers separately, implying controllers are not needed, thus full touch screen controls are a choice?

It seems to me that he is talking about something like this from a Nintendo patent

So let me get this straight.

$100 - touch screen only portable
$150 - portable with the controllers
$200 - $150 + better screen
$300 - includes the dock and maybe extra hardware?

I believe it's more
$050 - one control
$100 - small screen
$200 - bigger screen
$300 - full package

If the information that eurogamer told, about the power is in the control, maybe you only need 2 controls to have a NX.

I still think this bit from Eurogamer is just a misunderstanding. I personally don't think the controllers contain the processing power of NX, but I'm not technically savvy when it comes to things like this.

True. But since they want to sell separate screen and a modular machine, maybe the true place where the Power is is in the dock.

You buy a doc and what more you want. A screen only machine? A console? A portable?

Maybe even a 3D portable... You decide what you want.

There is something so incredibly hipster about the NX allowing SuperFX like chips and RAM Expansions ... I love it xD

And as someone who lives in a country that consoles are ridiculously expansive, a cheap console that you can upgrade over time is good on my wallet...and totaly worth it for the next Pokemon main game on my tv 1080p

Tegra Next is a thing that was more recently announced.

Tegra Next you mean

Glad I clicked on this thread again. Looks like this could well be true.

Only two more months now (hopefully). The wait is killing me.

Very skeptical of this, but the idea of a Project Fi-like console-portable-tablet-thing with a bunch of modular components still sounds cool to me.

Actually if you read closer, it sounds like the price depends on how much tech you buy.

You could conceivably get by with just 150 bucks spent if you went with the cheap version of the screen.

Hhmm...maybe. As long as performance is same I may go with a cheaper screen to save money. But I don't see multiple screens at launch to many different parts can confuse casuals which is what Nintendo needs to NOT do.

300 is like they full package. Buy it without screen and you can have a NX for 100.
But also just want the portable, so I'd need a screen and controller, so I wouldn't be sure if I could save any money anyhow.

Well anywayz: I guess I'll just have to wait for official pricing to see. But the all in one package with detachable controllers did seem perfect so I have a hard time seeing screens and stuff being sold seperately.
