Yeah, I know planets aren't supposed to have different biomes, but from what I've seen they definitely have areas which vary topographically and in terms of flora and fauna.
Definitely some decent variety, and this is pre day 1 patch that will only add more.
If I didn't need to save vacation time for an actual trip, I would have considered it. Then again, a week off and I'd be a mess of a human being. So much good times but living in a burning garbage pile.
Well...here's hoping that patch helps to amp up the diversity and fall in line with the original statements that the closer to the center you get the crazier planets get.

Yup those are two distinct biomes. I always have to say this, but Sean said planets generally have one biome, which implied that there'd be the rarer planet with multiple. It seems to be a common misconception that he said each planet only has one.
Just to be clear, the two snow forest shots are from a different planet. All the other shots are from the one big one, though.
I've been wondering if space combat could spill into the atmosphere of a planet. That looks awesome.

I hope so. The art director did say more color was being patched in, I hope he's serious about that.
A response I tend to see to this topic is that the planets as colorful/vibrant as those are probably just rare, or that's part of the "seeing crazier planets near the center". I don't think that's the case. It really does seem like to me that they just toned down the palette universally at some point in development. Even the later trailers/footage showed off that shift.

2. It's finite. You get a little cooldown meter.
Doesn't seem so great otherwise when the developer is begging people not to play their game in its on-disc state, and it won't be great for anyone who starts playing the game offline, unaware that they might have to delete their save to restart the game properly.
Lol. I've been playing it and it is great, even sans patch.

It looks even nicer.
They seem to have removed the sunrise/sunset indicator, and put a rad/toxicity meter in its place, just like in the Pillars trailers.

I think I've got myself stuck.
Decided itd be cool to land on a floating platform and then jet pack down.
Now I can't get back up.... Uh oh

From what I remember there are supposedly stations on every planet where you can call your ship to when you get there.

Discoveries are now uploaded automatically and instantly. The planet he's on now said Flora: none, and there seem to be none. Low atmosphere planet means no friction when going into orbit, and boost seem to accelerate more gradually.

spoilers for UNPATCHED center of the galaxy:
You press "engage" on the center in the galaxy map. it then plays the "supermoon" music track while zooming out of the whole galaxy and then zooms into a new galaxy. That is literally it. Nothing else happens
Pretty much as has been discussed previously then.

Hike to that outpost and see what is what. If it is not underwater you should be good and be able to recall your ship.

It kinda is. Also, in space the temperature glitches to 0.0°C, even on space stations. Rad/Tox indicators too.
