Persona 5 had a 24 hour live stream celebrating its 2015 release date announcement.

Stream's a stream, a bit different from the very expensive show SE organized, and there wasn't a release date announced for P5, just the year.

But let's wait and see how this turns out.

What was wrong with the titan demo? I know the microsoft stage demo was borked but I heard the actual stage demo was great.

As for VII remake, I recall episode duscae being well received for the most part, most people understood it was a very early work in progress. Release it with that understanding being made clear.

Btw I know both are extremely unlikely to happen, I'm just saying I think that would vastly combat backlash and turn the delay into a positive.

Having played it at E3, the framerate seemed fine but the demo itself was visually rough, the camera clunky and I ran into some really odd clipping issues during Titan's attacks.

Here's my ULTIMATE question.

My SUPER DUPER question I would love someone to answer. And it would have made a world of difference and put this game in a much better place for many people.

Why..........WHY did SE announce Final Fantasy Versus XIII AT ALL?

Why would ANY developer, announce vaporware that is more than 3 years out?

Don't do it.

Don't do that. 3+ years out? Just keep it under wraps! You don't build hype and keep hype for that long. Better to wait until it's actually......I don't know. A GAME.

This game should not have even BEEN ANNOUNCED until late 2014, as far as I'm concerned. Everything else before that was tripe.
Because that was part of the announcement of the Fabula Nova Chrystalis thing?

The demo was great? The premise of the demo is to survive with your friends until the cutscenes happens: one of the most boring segments in games. Making it a public demo was a mistake.

A delay to November would be ok. my wife would demand it become a Christmas gift though.

So a delay to November is an effective delay to December 25.

Frustrating... At least I don't care about spoilers

It's just a massive joke at this point, 10 years on and it's still getting delayed. :D

Honestly with how many releases there is during the Autumn period, they'd be better off delaying it to next year.

Well, guess I'll have to rethink my vacation plans. I was taking off to play this and PS VR in October.

Now I guess I'll take less time in October and maybe some time in December? bleh.

Wish I had money to travel.. but having 10k or so in the next 2 years of medical bills.. Staying home and playing games is all the vacation I can really afford.

YES!

And I'm sorry for some of you gafers, koozek, noctv, and the ones anticipated the sept 30 release, but let's be honest this is much better for all of us.

Now let's talk about the apology statements.
Here's a good one.

SE is deeply sorry, but we had to delay the game to meet the quality that we envisioned , and because of that the we will give you the playable characters dlc for free and their chapters.

Or something like, all 4 characters will be playable and switchable from the start.

I mean how will they tame the flame?

While free stuff would always be nice, asking for the game to become more complex when they're clearly not finished with it yet seems stupid.

There is no sorry. You make a huge event..... to announce the release date and while it hasn't been ever officially delayed, it was hell for the last 10 years not getting information. We fans are pissed off, trust me.

Not really, since it was part of their original schedule. We have to get more than just fixes for frame rate and optimization.
That is not a feature or an extra, that's something they should have done from the get go.

Part of me is upset.

The other part is thinking "good". Now I can watch Luke Cage on September 30th in peace. I also have time to finish the games I'm currently playing before it releases now.

Square-Enix doesn't really need to apologize for this. If they are delaying it for 2 months then it means they want 2 more months to improve on the game and it's optimization. I'm sure they would NOT be taking this delay after Uncovered unless it was absolutely necessary. On the flip side the Uncovered event was so much more than a "release date stream" as it announced all the other FFXV marketing like the movie, anime and was made to get this game the attention of the public. If they need the time then they should take it. Is it disappointing? Yeah of course, but also a good thing because it means it's certainly not being rushed out the door.

This game will be a shit show, I'm sure of it, I don't really care anymore about it, hope people who still have faith in this game to deliver will love it.

Why are some of you saying we will know for sure if the rumor is true or not by sunday?

The rumor states that at least certain Gamestop locations received promo material, supposedly with the new date, to be put up for Sunday (or end of day Sunday i.e. Monday).

That said, I'm surprised we haven't had a random GS employee take a cell phone pic yet, whether confirmed or denied.

This actually used to be how things worked. We used to get game announcements years in advance all the time. The fact that it skipped ps3 entirely was unforeseen

After putting on that huge event to announce the launch date? Not even a chance. Rumors from Gamestop managers have been wrong before.

What if the Gamestop employee mistook World of Final Fantasy as FFXV and that's the game getting delayed? Like, cause WoFF looks SO much better than XV and it feels like the true mainline final fantasy experience™ featuring turn based gameplay the fans deserve I wouldn't be surprised if people think it's actually FFXV.

This is a joke post.

Not likely but it would be AMAZING if that was what happened.

To be fair, back then at the start of the PS3 dev cycles tended to me much shorter. I have no doubt they were hoping to whip up XIII in no time and then transition the team to Versus and wrap it up in a year or two.

But then the realities of last gen kicked in and everything took way longer and more resources than anticipated. Square weren't the only victims of this, they're just one of the few that kept the concept alive (for the most part) rather than canning it and moving onto a new idea for XV.

I want to like World of but I really despise that blockhead cutesy look. I'll prolly end up buying it to pass time after XV waiting for Persona but I'm not exactly thrilled like anyone in those threads for it are

Now I realize I need to play through WoFF before XV and I feel rushed again.

In the thread about SE having a conference at Gamescom, I said that it was stupid for them to have it because they need to just focus on getting games out. I still stand by that. There's no way that they are just figuring out that this game needed more time just recently.

Exactly, the literal point of the event was a release date......that was the big announcement and the reason the event was held. There is a huge reason why also it was the last thing announced at the event and they made a huge deal out of the September 30th date.

Could be Neo reason's tho, Sony mandatory neo patch or something.

It's really hard for me to understand why anyone would care more about the impact of a marketing event than about getting a game that's in the best shape possible.

This literally happens all the time. I dont know why people think that Square Enix is the only company to ever delay a game or sell DLC.

Preach Jason.

The GameStop informants probably got dealt with
