New Overwatch update filters "gg ez" into different, hilarious phrases

Hard to believe people would get even remotely angry at randoms saying something as simple as gg ez

Maybe next time be good at the game?
There's three pages of people saying this is a good idea. If "gg ez" offends you in an online game chat, I don't know what to say, because I've seen shit more offensive than that in games since middle school.

I've seen way worse than gg ez, so it doesn't really bother me. But kudos to Blizzard for changing it into a humorous thing.

If you wanna really bm people, go with emotes/sprays. :p

Why not promote a positive sportsmanlike atmosphere though? I don't see how this could be a bad thing.

This turns a negative statement into a funny thing.

I wouldn't describe the phrase as "offensive", but I'd certainly call it bad mannered and irritating. I doubt many people would call for someone to be banned just for saying it, although many of the people that would say something like "gg ez" would probably be inclined to other troll behavior.

No offense to this, but when I play competitive games online, the other team at the end of the match going "get rekt" or the million variations of that are generally not the problem].

The problem is my team, who incessantly fight amongst themselves, whine, complain, or in the case of people I've partied up with that I know IRL: get visibly mad when the team loses. So much sarcastic "good game!" emoting during matches when a teammakes makes a mistake or gets outplayed.

Nothing's worse than a bunch of sore losers, especially if they've been shitting up the entire match. Getting roflstomped and poked at shouldn't hurt your pride, it's a video game.

The only thing worse than a sore loser is a sore winner. Especially when it's a win they had to earn every step of the way, an hour long 5 game affair they won at 99%/99% overtime with a clutch play.

The only time I've used "ez" in a BM type of way was after the other team was BMing all game and trash talking as if they had already won the game because they were up big. It was never sweeter than to BM the BMers after a comeback.
